Do you like to play premade sims or create your own?
For the most part I like to create my own sims but I do like to play premades occasionally. I'm not into the lore really, I just view a vast majority of the premades as background characters to my sims.
Do you make stories out of your sims, play sims for challenges (ex: Not So Berry or challenges you make for yourself), for science reasons, play for achievements or just play the ts3 without really any personal goals? I guess to narrow it down, what kind of simmer are you?
I make stories for some of them and for others it's just random gameplay though my ultimate goal is to create my own world and put all of my created sims in it. I don't do popular challenges though I may unintentionally make challenges for myself at times, nor play with any particular goals in mind beyond either creating sims, building lots, or playing in live mode but I think of myself as an "all around" player. I enjoy dabbling in some of everything.
When you play premade sims, do you edit their facial structures and or their traits (I unfortunately do this sometimes) or just leave them how they are? And do you change their outfits and hairstyles or do you let them wear whatever is randomly given to them?
It depends on the premade sim. Townies, I usually do change up a little bit, but not drastically, especially if I feel they have potential for whatever I'm trying to do, but they'd still be recognizable at themselves and keep most of the same traits. The clothes and hair change sometimes too, and I'm also more likely to change their occupations and lifetime wish too. The randomly generated ones, I edit the heck out of if I'm in the mood, but I still try not to change up traits too much.
A few examples, my favorite babysitter
And my favorite maid
And depending on how good of a job I do, I tend to save and keep the randomly generated sims I makeover.
Do you have more than one save (Like myself) or do you focus on just the one save?
I have too many saves I'll get an idea then I'll start creating new characters and places in an all new save and play that or think of something with my sims in an already existing save and create a new save with the same sims for the new idea. Or I'll just be messing around in CAS and suddenly come up with ideas for sims I unintentionally created. I was testing some CC a few months back and ended up with five new sims I randomly made and I even made back stories for them. I'm all over the place, lol.
Do you have a favorite sim(s) you absolutely love to play (premade or self made)?
Oh yeah. My main gang consists of 12 sims, all of whom I grew attached to over numerous saves on various devices and now they're a unit I play when I just want to have fun and not do anything heavy.
Here they are helping me test an apartment I was building on my old laptop.
Then there are a few go tos when I just want to screw the whole town over.
Like my guy here, teaching his eldest (and favorite) of numerous kids how to drive.
Those are all sims I created but there are a few premade sims who I love to maybe not play but bring along for the ride sometimes, like Ayesha Ansari (the mother to my sim's daughter in the spoiler above), Leighton Sekemoto, and Katelyn Missoni for example. They're some of a handful of premades who made an impression on me during regular gameplay and I decided to keep around and occasionally play for a few sim hours.
What is your favorite thing about ts3 or your favorite packs?
The personalities of the sims in Sims 3 is my favorite thing about it. All the personalities traits aren't perfect, there's definitely rom ofr improvement but to me Sims 3 sims have the best personalities hands down. 5 traits, 7 total if you have uni and many of them bring a uniqueness that you can't quite accomplish in Sims 2 and Sims 4. It's easier to truly make sims have unique personalities that come alive when you play them in Sims 3. My favorite packs are Seasons and Pets, but that's because I feel like the base game isn't complete without them.
What lifestyles do you usually pick for your sims if you make them? (ex: chef, gardener, firefighter, medical etc)
It depends on the sim, but I would say the profession I've gone with the most is probably writer with musician being second and doctor third. Usually I try to pick something that lines up with their personalities or the plans I have for them.
How long have you been playing ts3?
Since September of 2009 so nearly 14 years. Oh wow...
