In term of points, traits with 6 positive points and no negative point :
    • Hot-headed
    • Bookworm
    • Mean (It doesn't bother Optimistic Sims and Spirited Sims)

That means a sim with these traits could get up to 18 points.

Have your sim dislike those and it will become -18 points.
In addition, Proper (-2 total) and Unflirty (-1) always give negative points (or positive if the Characteristics is disliked). If every Characteristic is liked or disliked, then Good is the only affected trait that ends up giving 0 points.

@EgonVM this is wonderful information. Thanks for providing it. I'm curious how simmers are using it. So far I'm just using it for reference but that could change in the future. I'm wondering how simmers are actively manipulating characteristics and likes/dislikes to modify relationships.

I just created a new sim as the significant other for one of my sims and simply gave him traits, likes and dislikes that I thought suited his personality with no thought to the couple's future compatibility.

In my game I mostly give them likes and dislikes that fit with their personality. So an ambitious sim might like hard working sim, a lazy sim ambitionless sims etc.

I find it kinda funny that the most likable people in sims world are angry, mean, bookworms 💀💀

Interesting, thank you for posting it.

I left the game after the High School pack came out, social bunny and prom taking up a day every weekend made me too irritated. I try to mod the phones away as much as possible and making my own holidays is very important for my gameplay.

The expansion with horses made me interested in the game again and I am looking up Growing Together as well. The later might be interesting depending on how much fun the chemistry is.

Currently I am playing a little sim in Mt Komorebi, she will have a little garden with chickens while I l look through my mods and stuff. Will probably be a few weeks until I have time to updated mods and buy the packs that I am interested in so threads like this are really useful.

New Horse Ranch expansion pack is out! Does this mean that the new traits will affect the social compatibility score?

According to tuning files, no, unfortunately...

I really thought that Horse Lover would be perfect fit under Pet Enthusiasts, but sadly, no.

For Rent is out! And it's traits affect the social compatibility score!

Here's the list how it affects the score for each characteristic sim likes (reverse the score for dislikes):
    • Cringe
      • -1 to Cerebral Sims
      • +2 to Funny Sims
      • -1 to Pessimistic Sims
      • +1 to Rascals
      • +2 to Spirited Sims
    • Generous
      • +1 to Ambitionless Sims
      • +3 to Idealist Sims
      • +2 to Optimistic Sims
    • Nosy
      • -1 to Idealist Sims
      • +2 to Rascals
    • Child of the Village
      • +2 to Family-Motivated Sims
      • -1 to Homebody Sims
      • +3 to Nature Enthusiasts
      • -1 to Pessimistic Sims
      • +1 to Spirited Sims
    • Wise
      • +3 to Cerebral Sims
The original post has been updated with the values.
And 4 out of 5 also have self-discovery moments. Linking it here for those interested.

Horse Ranch traits still don't affect the scores.
