I'm very worried about this path Mariah is on. I do hope she pulls out before it's too late. Not just for herself but for her and Miranda. She's drawn Ms. H's attention to Miranda again which she is going to use to corner Mariah into something horrible. Aadi has it right, all they can do is be there for her when the time comes that they're needed.
Mariah has always struggled with her path... Her father - who loved her - apparently abandoned her. Her mother - who should have loved her - resented her. She found her first love only be called a monster for it and be horribly abused because of it. She escaped abuse at home to a life on the streets which wasn't any better. By the time she taken in by a family that gave her love and support, she was so wounded inside it has taken years to heal. Now she has rediscovered what she thinks is her loving father's family and is instead surround by real monsters who are gleefully ripping those newly healed wounds open and dragging her down into darkness for sinister purposes of their own.
... but she still has a family who loves and supports her. She has friends ready and willing to help her. She has love.
I'm working the next couple of chapters right now. I literally have tears in my eyes as I'm writing.
I promised you a happy ending. I intend to keep that promise.

The way you describe that is really sweet. It is true, and people who haven't played this game, and some who have, just don't get how you can actually develop a bond with your characters. I have with several of mine. I know you said there would be a happy ending and I believed you that the M&M's will have one, but it's the potential for collateral damage to that worries me.
@luciusstorm Oh, man I can't use my rig today. Something went seriously wrong after my Windows crashed, yesterday. Hubby took a brief look at it this morning, seems the hard drive isn't receiving anything. May be the sad end to my desktop, gaming rig. Sniff, sniff. Thank you. I was having such fun with the Patch and the new Ep, too. I'm very afraid to try to play it on my laptop. I also don't believe I can switch out Origin for the App, without the automatic update.

I was kind of expecting Ms. H was going to try poisoning Mariah's mind against Miranda. I wasn't sure but there was just something about their last conversation that had me thinking this might happen. Miranda's love can't be shaken that easily. What else has she got in store for our little M&M's.🫣
That was a terrific chapter. I never really appreciated Aadi's role in this story until now, that is. She is a true friend and I love how she was willing to smack Mariah, if need be. I really like her. And what a dark and dank hole, Mariah dug herself into. She's going to need a ladder or a lifeline to get out. Well done.
Aadi's role is to speak the truth, in the way the outrageous can when others can't. They are an interesting character and, oddly, the most "normal" of the roommates in many ways.
Incidently, Aadi's pronouns are " they/them" but don't feel bad, I trip up on that all the time myself. I'm still learning about these things.

Good for Aadi stepping up and stepping in before Mariah ruined a beautiful thing. We all need that person who knows us and can show us those truths that are right there in front of us but that we are blind to. I just know our M&M's are going to have a sweet and memorable reconciliation.❤️
