Hello everyone,
So I know we have music instruments in the Game already but having more would be really refreshing. However, I feel like the Team is not planning on adding more in the game. The last Music Instrument was the station in Get Famous and all the other ones that came into the game are ones that already exist in the game (guitar in the werewolf, piano in my wedding stories and Growing together). The fact that Werewolves could have electric guitars but didn't really tickled the idea that the team is no longer adding any in the game.
So what do you think?
Do you think we would have new Music Instruments in the future? 67 votes
Yes, we will have more new music instruments in the future
Yes, but maybe just one or two and that's it
Yes, I think they could but I'm not really sure
No, but they'll keep adding versions of the base game instruments
No, I don't think but I really wish for new music instruments

The Upright Piano is coming to Sims, but that's going to work like the piano, just smaller. I would like a whole pack dedicated to music and bands. Playing in groups, adding wind instruments, drums, maybe the harp.
Part of the problem is that you'll need to find musicians to put their music in, multiple genres, some bad music for when you're learning, some good for when you're top skill, and that adds to the budget of the pack.
I’ve been wanting this since forever:
Band / ensembles examples:
Instruments and skills that currently exist can be used in combination:
Instruments and skills:
Crossover with other EP's:
I'm aware that developing a GP/EP like this will take a considerable amount of resources to record music with different instruments for different genres at different levels in different combinations and create animations based on each variant. Twas a mouthful.
Yes, the budget is what seems to stop them from adding more music instruments, but I still think like they should at least add something here and there (most classical instruments don't need new musics, there are already public access musics out there) the failure part is the real difficulty imo
I don't know if they'll add those but Harps, Accordeons, Drums, Electric guitars, Flutes, clarinettes for the European/Western instruments but they can add instruments from other areas as well: Djembés, Marimbas, Koras and valiha (sounds a bit like harps though, but with an african vibe). Guzheng if they're inspired by China or Korea, Erhus, Indian Sitars, etc...
There are a lot actually that don't really need new music with copyright
YES a whole EXPANSION with all those ideas, I'll buy without hesitation
Still, upright pianos will be nice because it's insane that we need a huge classical piano to learn it. Even large houses have trouble fitting them in.
there is also key board if someone has City Living. You can even take it with you!
Maybe I'm being too positive but I think that we might be looking at a music festivals EP which I hope would bring more instruments (even if that's just drums and bass), deepen the singing skill beyond karaoke and allow music lovers to jam together.
I'm praying they bring in saxophones but I know that's a long shot.
If there is enough demand for new music instruments from the community, the Sims team might consider adding them in a future update or expansion pack.
That sounds so gooood...I really wish the team does something like this
I only really want drums and accordion and posibility for sims to sing jazz and blues. Mariachi would be lovely too, and sims playing boogie woogie on piano.
I also hope we can get another violin that looks really modern/electric
I don't have high hopes for many more new instruments. If they add anymore it'll probably just be string bass, drum kit, etc., because EA likes just adding the same instruments over and over again instead of giving us new ones. The Sims 4 has been very lacking in this department. Have we received anything new at all? I don't think we have. It's crazy considering this game has gone on over twice as long as any The Sims game before it.
We have at least one very talented modder right now working on new instruments and she is fantastic. I'm putting my hope in her, not EA.
