This is my thread for various Fairy Tales based in the Sims 4.
Note that they are all altered from their original text to fit the game and just because I want to do a twist on them.

    The Little Sulani Mermaid

    Chapter 1: The Old Crone
    fHXKXqq.jpg

Once upon a time, there lived a fisherman.

    NQB3Syu.jpg

Everyday, he would cast his nets to provide for his family and himself.

    Hh7RT67.jpg

The fisherman had a daughter, who he had raised by himself ever since she was little due to her mother's passing.

    qZLsLyE.jpg

Once she was old enough, the daughter helped to contribute to the household with cleaning and even learning woodworking to sell her figurines.

    smByZ66.jpg

Between the two of them, they lived in the fisherman's little shack by the water.

    7bUCMgy.jpg

While they were both happy, they were always barely just above poverty. Still, they made do with what they had and what the land provided them

    aKid9U4.jpg

One day, the fisherman went out to set his baskets as usual.

    k4QNsJT.jpg

His daughter was out at the woodworking bench, working on a new piece, when an old woman approached her.

    pUxYZOV.jpg

She was not exactly the most attractive woman, her skin draped over her old bones and her eyes sunken deeper than a wrecked ship.

    AKhSILe.jpg

“Is your father home?” the old crone asked the daughter. “I have heard he is a widower and I wish to offer my hand in marriage. I have enough money that would allow the both of you to live comfortably. Surely, he would not say no to that, would he?”

    ZDLq1P9.jpg

“My father is out fishing,” said the daughter. “And while your money would be wonderful indeed, I know he will not marry you for he does not even know you. Come back this evening when my father returns if you wish to speak to him.”

    anOP1DK.jpg

"Very well," said the old woman. "I will return later on then."

    75jPIHp.jpg

The woman then did so, showing up as the sun set to meet with the tired old fisherman, giving him her offer.

"But why us though? I'm just a mere fisherman and my darling daughter does most of the cleaning and cooking here."

    eokufxK.jpg

"Why not?" said the old crone. "I'm a lonely woman with plenty of riches. You're a single father and could us the money. I promise to treat your daughter as if she were my own!"

    DpCDxLo.jpg

"Still..." said the fisherman. "I barely know you."

"We'll know each other more after the wedding," said the old woman. "And think about how much more we can improve on this old shack of yours."

The fisherman twiddled his fingers before sighing.

"Well...It can't hurt. Very well. I have a day off in three days. We will have the wedding then."

    Chapter 2: Daughter Lost

    xWwz6hM.jpg

Over the next few months, things definitely improved. The old shack soon grew into a proper house, the fisherman selling jewels given to him by the old hag and using the money to buy new wood. His daughter would then work on the house, her father helping on his days off.

    SeJor7h.jpg

The old crone brought (and sometimes bought) new furniture for the house, the fisherman and his daughter finally having a comfortable place to sit.

    pZ9e5hI.jpg

They even had enough money for a bathroom! The fisherman would always say, "Now my new wife and my darling daughter will be happy, and I can sleep peacefully.”

    rmFAziB.jpg

One day, while the daughter was working, the elderly woman approached her.

"Have you seen the fish by the docks today? They look really big! I bet we could catch some for a great meal this evening."

The daughter, ever wanting to take care of her hard-working father, put down her tools and asked her step-mother to show her the fish.

    9UEcFwk.jpg

The two went to the dock, the daughter looking around.

"Where are the fish you mentioned, step-mother?" she asked.

"I saw them out there," said the old hag. "I saw their scales sparkling in the sun. Have patience."

    MbZfeh6.jpg

As the daughter looked over the water, her step-mother suddenly cast a spell over her...

    UgiZcko.jpg

And then pushed her into the water! Unbeknownst to the fisherman, the old woman was actually a witch.

    K0hQkTd.jpg

"I curse your body to become a fish!" she cackled. "So that you will be eaten by the sharks! With you out of the way, I will be the only one left for your father to love. And once he declares his devotion solely to me....

    4HPkx1b.jpg

"I will eat his heart and regain my full strength!"

    vWzACpa.jpg

With that, the witch left to inform her husband of his daughter's death.

    Chapter 3: Mermaid's Treasure
    TN4ARyx.jpg

That evening, the fisherman returned to hear the terrible news that his daughter was gone.

"I am sorry, darling," said the old crone. "We were fishing by the dock when a shark grabbed her line and she was pulled into the water. It was all so sudden! I don't think there was anything left of her."

"My daughter. My dear sweet daughter!!!" the fisherman cried. "How can I keep living without her?! I might as well join her and throw myself off the wharf!"

    aDi0YUY.jpg

"Don't say such things!" the witch said with fake sympathy. "Surely your daughter would not want you to join her in the shark’s belly.”

The fisherman agreed, his heart however now broken over his alleged daughter's passing.

    cnaUYu5.jpg

Now whether it was due to the weakened powers of the witch, or due to the love of her father, the young daughter did not become a fish, but rather a beautiful mermaid.

    IY063QH.jpg

Cursed never to return to land however, she could not tell her father right away about what the witch had done.

    odYhnvZ.jpg

It was not long that the fisherman fell into a deep depression. No matter what the witch tried, it appeared as if his love for anything had disappeared. One day, the old crone suggested to her husband to go fishing, saying that maybe returning to work might lighten his mood. Solemnly, the man got in his boat, taking his fishing baskets, and went off.

    PkoHScj.jpg

He cast his baskets and began to fish, feeling not as depressed, but still lacking any enjoyment, even after a huge catch.

    tDKxNM2.jpg

Sighing, the fisherman put away his rod, feeling himself drifting in and out of sleep. The rocking of the boat and his depression soon lulled him into a slumber.

    JNs32Kp.jpg

Just then, the fisherman heard the most beautiful song that had ever graced his ears.

    e32sapu.jpg

He could not understand the words, but it sounded so much like his dearly departed daughter that he felt his heart jump. He looked around but he could not find the source of the singing.

    fS3zl2G.jpg

He decided it was time to go home and grabbed the fishing baskets, only to find them filled with treasure! Now happier than ever, the fisherman heaved the baskets into the boat and sailed off home.

    Chapter 4: The End
    RrzKgaq.jpg

Back at the house, the fisherman told his wife about his experience.

"And when I woke up, the baskets were filled with all sorts of treasure! It has to be a sign! A gift from my dearly departed daughter!"

    oVOJ1RS.jpg

"You must have been dreaming, darling husband," said the witch. "She is gone. I saw her perish. Maybe you mistaken a mahi-mahi or some other colorful fish."

    7wjXLzw.jpg

“But it was no dream! See?” said the fisherman, tipping his basket and spilling the gems and gold all over the table. “My darling daughter speaks to me from the depths and blessed us with all these riches!”

The old crone could feel her chest tighten. She was sure that the daughter had to have been dead by now. Where had all these riches come from? Just then, they heard a distant melody outside.

    jIOML3e.jpg

The two ran out to the dock, looking over the water as the song grew louder.

"Can you hear it, dear wife?" said the fisherman. "Your step-daughter sings from the depths.

The old witch gave a nervous smile as she continued to listen.

"Well...I do hear something...Are we sure it isn't a bird?"

    pBCB2OK.jpg

The two looked around before seeing her in the distance: The Mermaid Daughter. She was covered in jewels and gold but did not approach the dock. She sang out once more, this time with lyrics clear as the waters

“Father, Father, please do not cry.
Let rest that tear from your sad eye
    I now live here but you must know;
It was your wife that made this so.

She pushed me in to cast a spell,
And kill me so then she not tell.
But I live here now in the sea,
And still your daughter I will be."

    Q6Z0o5e.jpg

The fisherman's brow suddenly furrowed, the old witch quivering as the mermaid continued.

"Fear the witch, father, oh please do.
She wishes to do harm to you.
Say you love her and seal your doom
For your heart she will then consume.”

    1ho6E6D.jpg

"It was you who did all this then!" The fisherman shouted at the old hag. "Manipulated me to think my darling daughter was dead! All to eat the heart of a poor old fisherman!"

"The mermaid lies! She lies!" begged the witch.

    wAR6QMa.jpg

The fisherman now understood fully what the mermaid’s song meant and, without hesitation, threw the old witch off the dock.

    p6FjOvz.jpg

The witch did not even make a cry as the water boiled around her as she dissolved into the sea.

    vQIJ2EW.jpg

The fisherman's daughter then approached the dock. She took the jewels she had been and left them by her father's feet before swimming away once more.

    ZqeHl0A.jpg

From then on, the fisherman lived his best life...

    Ni3kpCj.jpg

Knowing that his daughter was watching out for him...

    AuSoJ5c.jpg

    Even from far away.

    Cinderella of Windenburg

Chapter 1: The Widow and her Daughters
    XXMPrtH.jpg

Once upon a time, maybe more modern than one would expect, there lived a widow. Now this wasn’t the first time the woman had married and thus, she had 3 daughters. Two from her first husband, and one from her recently dearly departed second husband.

    vi0WsVx.jpg

Anna, the eldest, lived in the city as a fashion designer, returning home on occasion to check on the house and family.

    ybhkszg.jpg

The middle daughter, Delilah, lived with her mother.

    0uOkSGq.jpg

She had no work and was very lazy.

    y14A4xa.jpg

Along with Delilah was her stepsister, the youngest daughter Cindy.

    gEWmB3h.jpg

They lived in a fine house, being somewhat well-to-do.

    5YSdb83.jpg

Now unlike most mothers, the old widow did not share her love out equally and played favorites amongst her daughters. Delilah was her most cherished. She was never asked to lift a finger, her mother preparing all her meals and doting on her if she even so much complained about a headache or cough. While the old widow did have money from her husband’s will, it was spent mostly on Delilah.

    ekXdHT8.jpg

Cindy did not mind being the breadwinner of the house. Her job was that of an engine repair technician for a small garage nearby. It was hard and messy work, but the girl enjoyed it.

    HSqscIY.jpg

She ate well during her lunch and had many friends at the jobsite.

    b6vJfYv.jpg

"Did anyone see the huge mess from that truck's oil?"

"Eww! Don't remind me! I never seen oil that rotten!!"

    dkDilAo.jpg

"What's that? Our dear Cinderella afraid of some nasty old oil? You've been listening to your sister or what?"

"Hahah....Nah. I would never be as bad as her."

    OkHhYUD.jpg

At home though, Delilah would always pick on her.

    "Ew! What is that?"

"Engine grease. We use it to lubricate parts sometimes. You want to see sometime?"

    qCfJTvl.jpg

"Gross! No way! Why would I wanna even see that stinking place you work at? Mother! Mother! Cindy is all dirty again!"

    U6Bh7Hs.jpg

On many an occasion, the widow would yell at Cindy for coming home dirty and refused to offer her supper.

    sobCvCK.jpg

"You can get your own supper after we go to bed! Now go upstairs and out of our sight!"

    qBiaHSt.jpg

Cindy would wash up, but would still be made to stay upstairs until after everyone was gone to sleep.

    MyfJqaI.jpg

While Cindy did not mind making money for the family, knowing her mother had little room in her heart for her did hurt. She hid it the best she could, but there was always an ache in her own heart for the way she was always treated.

    Chapter 2: The Plans
    yvC2oKB.jpg

One day, Anna came home to announce that a very famous fashion designer, Vince Charmin, was in town, looking for the best of fashions in the world and would be stopping by for a week. He would be giving a prize to the person he found the most fashionable in all the land. As to what that prize would be, Anna did not know.

    w9KlsPZ.jpg

“If I had to guess,” said Cindy, “It would probably be a cash prize. He has to have a lot of money if he is a fashion designer and traveling as you said.”

“Oh, he does,” said Anna. “He’s been in the business a lot longer than I have. But like I said, I don’t know the exact prize.”

    bnwELnp.jpg

Just then, the old mother’s eyes lit up.

“You said he has a lot of money?” she asked her eldest.

    Z3pOaWr.jpg

“Enough that he can afford private jets and his own penthouse, yes.”

“Forget a cash prize then,” announced the widow. “All one needs is for him to fall in love. Delilah, darling! Come with me! We’re going downtown to buy you some new outfits and accessories!”

    0ZW1RXK.jpg

The widow and Delilah then slipped on their best coats to go downtown.

    nxNCN3I.jpg

Delilah then grabbed Cindy’s debit card.

    RkIhFsp.jpg

“Hey!” Cindy shouted. “You’re only allowed to use that for necessities.”

    o4ZlrX7.jpg

“And new clothes are a necessity if this Vince Charmin is going to be attracted to her!” interrupted Cindy’s stepmother, giving a sneer. “Not like you would be participating anyways.”

    OAUreky.jpg

    With that, the two left.

    SczYdwI.jpg

Cindy sat down next to her sister, sighing with defeat.

“Mother being herself as usual I see,” said Anna.

    bUKA2CL.jpg

“Oh, it will be much worse now,” said Cindy. “All my paycheque will be going towards whatever she dresses Delilah up in. I will be lucky if there’s enough left over for a loaf of bread!”

    CxyfPeM.jpg

“Why don’t you dress up and put Mom in her place?” asked Cindy. “You can design much better and more eye-catching outfits than Mom can for Delilah.”

“I would,” said Anna, “But I technically don’t live here anymore, remember. I think Vince wants to see the most fashionable of the locals…”

    uivXTd3.jpg

“But you could wear anything I design,” Anna said, an idea forming across her lips. “C’mon! To my room! I am going to make you outfits that are so stunning that Mom won’t even recognize you!”

“Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!” shouted Cindy. “What do I get out of this?”

    sIC5Jjo.jpg

“The chance to show Mom that Delilah isn’t her only beautiful daughter…” said Anna with a pause. “And possibly a cash prize?”

    Cindy shrugged.

    “Fair enough.”

    Chapter 3: The Mysterious Lady

    cVNXEYW.jpg

On that Monday, Vince Charmin had his first event: a formal party, with dresses and suits of the upmost style required, all in black and white, or closest one could muster.

    HqBlNDj.jpg

As they mingled, Delilah was about to be introduced to Vince Charmin when his attention was caught elsewhere.

    ryZd4Kd.jpg

A lady in a silvery dress. She sparkled like the tinsel on a Christmas tree and walked as light as a feather.

    dJi1u3z.jpg

The fashion designer was taken aback by her gown and her silver bangle. So simple. Yet elegant.

    q5WVlQ1.jpg

He went forward about ready to introduce himself when the clock struck 12pm and the mystery lady bowed, running out of the party.

    ZUtseBp.jpg

Back at home, Cindy’s stepmother and Delilah described the beautiful woman that had distracted Vince Charmin away from them.

    "And then she just...ran off..."

    66keyk1.jpg

“Oh, I heard about it too,” Cindy said as she entered the room

    “How?!” asked her stepmother.

    9CcOzWd.jpg

“I saw her run past the garage while I was working today. It must have been quite the struggle in such a large dress.”

    8txKtoM.jpg

Without even a hint that Cindy was the mysterious woman, the widow told Delilah:

“So Wednesday then, we will walk past the garage, and we should see this lady that is trying to steal our—I mean your—chances of marriage away.”

"Ew!" said Delilah. "No way! I'm not going anywhere near that dirty place!"

    zbWKVwm.jpg

On Wednesday, Vince Charmin had a rave party downtown. The music was loud and the lights pulsing to the beat. Delilah and her mother were about to approach Vince Charmin when his vision was captured again.

    SR8m3ik.jpg

It was the beautiful girl, now dressed in gold and wearing a gilded necklace.

    aoiWBlh.jpg

This time, he was able to approach her just enough to show her to the dance floor.

    5BtlhzF.jpg

The music was loud and the lights pulsing to the beat as they danced. Vince tried to ask the woman her name, but he could not be heard.

    ZHxYz3n.jpg

when the clock struck 12am, the girl was gone.

    0hjypkX.jpg

The next morning, the widow and Delilah recounted their story to Cindy.

    67Dh04u.jpg

“So that’s who I saw last night,” said Cindy
    .
“Where?!” asked her stepmother eagerly, almost obsessively.

“Well, I decided to go on an early fishing trip to catch some midnight carp and as I stood by the shore, I saw a rushing glint of gold under the streetlamp.”

    NUcIhdx.jpg

“Maybe we should join you tonight then,” suggested the stepmother. “So then maybe we can see this stranger.”

“If you want to,” said Cindy. “If you and Delilah wouldn’t mind putting the worms on the hooks and bagging up the guts of the fish. I don’t gut them in the house because of the smell.”

    TsAUvFi.jpg

Delilah made a face, shaking her head.

“Never! Nevernevernever! I will not filthy up my pretty white hands with fish guts and slimy worms, Mother! Never!”

“Very well, dearie," said the stepmother. "We will stay home.”

    uqgSaIv.jpg

On Friday, Vince Charmin had a party in the nearby historical site. The widow was able to introduce Delilah to Vince but like before...

    FFyGPcw.jpg

His vision was taken away by the something: The same mystery woman. This time she wore a fine white-grey knit dress, accessorized with shimmering diamond earrings.

    pOGlABa.jpg

Vince tried to be quick, escorting the lovely lady to the rest of the party to offer her some finger foods.

    58fuW5L.jpg

He asked her her name and just when her lips parted, she gasped at the time.

    tiVFHMY.jpg

    And was off once again.

    Chapter 4: The Big Reveal

    j5yVlmD.jpg

“Who leaves a party at 12pm?!” Cindy’s stepmother grumbled the next morning, glancing at Cindy who had just finished breakfast. “I suppose you saw her again, did you?”

"The lady with the grey knit dress? Oh yes! I was working in the garden when I saw her run past. She had the loveliest of earrings on!”

    devJoDH.jpg

“So, she pasts by here too!!” interrupted Delilah. “Oh mother I have the most wonderful idea!!”

Delilah then suggested that they approach Vince Charmin about hosting a party at their humble abode. Not only then would they have the best chance to speak with him, but also catch the irritating lady that kept distracting him.

"A wonderful idea! Go upstairs and tell your big sister to call him!" said the stepmother.

    sxVZGwE.jpg

Delilah then went up into Anna's room where she was working, barking orders at her.

"Momma and I want to have a party here for Vince Charmin! Tonight! And you're gonna call him!"

    K0CNngI.jpg

"You know he's a very busy man..." Anna was about to say before Delilah swiftly interrupted her.

"I don't care! No excuses! Call Vince and tell him we're going to have a party here! It's the only way he'll be able to notice me!!"

    PmKfiJV.jpg

Anna pasted on a fake smile, knowing more about what was probably going on than her younger sister expected.

"Well if that's the case, of course I'll call. I don't make any guarantees, but we can always hope he accepts the offer!"

    WWGpKAZ.jpg

Anna then called up Vince Charmin, telling him about his sister's idea and how the best way to see the local fashion scene was in a local house. Luckily, Vince agreed and the party commenced that night.

    TRfn1f6.jpg

There was no real theme, just to be dressed in the most stylish outfit one could.

    25lVBFt.jpg

The party was small but concise with its guests, Cindy’s stepmother finally having Delilah speak with the fashion design. Still, his glances told the old woman that he was anticipating the mystery woman.

    DVK4jvz.jpg

Just then, from upstairs, Cindy walked down in a blue dress with no make-up and her hair simply pinned back. Her stepmother and stepsister paid no heed until Vince exclaimed.

    “It…It’s you!”

Everyone, including Cindy’s family looked. Cindy was wearing the silver bracelet, the golden necklace and the diamond earrings with the rest of her outfit. Her stepmother and Delilah were taken aback in shock and even disgust.

    P5hABFU.jpg

“It...It was Cindy! And he wants her?!" said the stepmother, looking to Delilah. “She…She’s a dirty thing! She never wears such finery normally. She…She works in a garage for Pete’s Sake!”

    uDBnbyU.jpg

"I want you to join me back in the city! Be my apprentice, my dear. You have proven you have an eye for fashion!” begged Vince.

Cindy then laughed a hearty belly laugh. Everyone watching were confused, including Vince.

Cindy wiped the joy from her eyes.

“Oh Vince. While I did enjoy dressing up, it was all just to prove a point to my dear mother: That she should never play favorites. I was just the model in this whole plan. If you want the true mastermind behind my outfits, look no further than my sister, Anna.”

    hppM4ZQ.jpg

Vince moved the crowd over to sit next to Anna.

“Then truly it should be you working with me. Will you become my apprentice, dear Anna?”

    VgbassQ.jpg

“Under one condition,” said Anna. “Give some money to Cindy so she can move out.”

    b1AaRGG.jpg

Vince announced that he would make it so and it was no less than a month that Cindy was in her own apartment, finally free from her stepmother and stepsister.

    9IerO63.jpg

Anna would join Vince in the great city, working together on new fashions for all the world to admire.

    62685oM.jpg

And it was maybe a year or so later, that Vince and Anna married.

    kxmKm4K.jpg

All the family was invited, but last I heard, Cindy’s stepmother and Delilah declined the invitation. If they hadn’t, my story would not have ended.
