I’ve just been thinking about what interactions could be included between the current life states and infants. Since babies are basically objects, I’m curious to see what infants can actually do to interact with older sims and vise versa.
I’m hoping there will be interactions between infants and toddlers and not just child - elder.
What are some interactions you’re hoping to see with the new life state?

Rocking in the rocking chair.
A fair number of social interactions, like singing lullabies to them. And I'd like their older siblings to be able to interact with them as well, at least child or older. This may depend on how skill-building works, if it even exists for infants, but it would be nice if they could play with some toys together with their older siblings. If not toys, then I would definitely want to see the older siblings able to interact by playing directly with their younger siblings (peekaboo, etc.).
Those are probably my priorities. Any of those that we don't see in the base game update, I would definitely hope to see in the EP.
Also, I'm sure a lot of people will want to see the changing table make a comeback. It's not that important to me, but I can see why people would want it for nostalgia purposes, and to fully decorate the nursery.
For example,
Infant to Infant would look like crawling over to each other, hugging each other, babbling at each other.
Infant to toddler could look like fighting over the ipad and pulling on it, or play blocks together (I also hope that toddler items like chairs, potty training seat, the tablet/ipad thing, etc can be used by infants once they hit a certain skill level)
Infant to child could be an indirect interaction like children handing toys/bottles/cups to the infant or reading a book to them/playing peekaboo while they're in a playpen, crib, or high chair. Nothing that directly involves picking them or or handling their skills.
Infants to teens/YA/adult could be everything; similar to toddlers where they can read to them, hold them, cuddle them, talk to them, teach them skills, put them to bed, etc.
Infants to elderly it would be nice to see if the grandparent can give them a "'family kiss" (remember that from the Sims 2), rock them in a rocking hair (from Nifty Knitting), etc.
Overall I would just like to see more family gameplay and the ability for infants to be a productive member of the family; unlike babies who are tied to a bassinet and have only a handful of interactions.
Got to be related to Infants, right? The fact they are now 'free' we can take them to the park and crawling too.
Well, if they can come crawling back home from the park I wonder if they have the option to go to the park by themselves too? Wish the tablets and clay blobs sims leave behind would crawl back to their houses too.
Great post! Definitely interested to see if/how interactions will affect skill-building!
I love all of your suggestions. I really hope children can interact with them a lot more than they can with the current baby objects!!
I am so ready for them to start hinting about the infant update.
I also believe this tweet was also a hint in someway:
Not a chance, but we can hope.
Lol you are probably right! 😂 one can wish!
What are some things you guys are hoping for that we didn't see in the trailer?
We didn’t really see anything with teens yet. It could be that the teens could help out with the infant. They might just get some of the same interactions that the adults get but it would be nice if they did have something unique.
I hope children have special big brother/big sister interactions with infants.
I also wonder if there is a career, or maybe something like a career for smaller sims. We have scouts and drama club but there could be something new or something similar for toddlers or maybe even elders, like bingo.
Bingo would be fun! I hope it wouldn’t be exclusive to elders but would definitely add to the elder experience.
I definitely agree with the unique interactions and the big brother/sister interactions. That would be pretty cool. Perhaps teens could get a special moodlet when left alone with infant, like when parents leave the house for short periods or teens could take infant to another lot. Almost like babysitting but not. Maybe like a moodlet for feeling responsible/grown up lol.
Oh my gosh, I even see tablets on picnic table and wonder who the heck left that behind. I play rotationally, so if one of my sims is missing a tablet I start checking the picnic tables that are close by…..
I wish sims could implement that finders keepers policy.
