I should probably put this in the Unpopular Opinions thread, but I don't have a problem with rabbit holes, depending on what it is. (The ferris wheel should have been something we can see our sims ride) I liked rabbit holes in sims 3, it gave my sims places to go for books or groceries, etc. and there were always lots of other sims showing up and hanging around.

I agree! If there is text saying my sim is in a place, I still feel like my sim is in a place and it was worth me taking them to the place.

Like you say there are things that would be better if you actually do them, like fairground rides. But I have no problem with some things being rabbit holes. I quite like some of the texts you get about work and Batuu and things like that and think it sometimes work well. I would rather have this than nothing at all.

The keepsake-box might be rather big, so it's not only for small objects like great-granny's long gone tooth. I think in the trailer, the granddad visiting bbringss a keepsake-box, size of a small suitcase. We also see it on the fkloor opened, but it is nit possible to see what it contains. Most likely there is an inventory like for the trunks. I think it is for drawings, photos and maybe a few more like tooths would be cool (un less kids give up their tooth to get paid a Simoleon - they can't keep both the tooth and the coin...

Is anyone else intrigued by the family “Keepsake Box” that was advertised, or am I the only one? I wonder what types of things are kept in that box..

I'm thinking birth certificates, excess family photos, those baby handprint things I've seen in videos/pics, tooth fairy certificates, kids drawings etc?

The kind of things that are more sentimental than fiscally valuable.

I was hoping we could store jewelry in them. Maybe they are just tiny storage trunks and we can keep anything in them.

I think the everyday clutter kit has a wooden jewelry box, but I don’t think you can actually store anything in it. It would be nice if you could use a jewelry box to open to CAS jewelry, but since there is both head (earrings and other face piercings) and body jewelry (bracelets, rings, arm bracelets, etc.). If might be difficult. If they brought out a simple clothing lot trait where you actually had to buy an outfit, or outfit piece to open that piece up to using, I think that would be great. It would actually give me more reason to make clothing stores.

See, I would rather have it be like the Karaoke bar in city living. I actually have a movie theatre ( that is not a rabbit hole in my main save). It’s labeled a bar, and I have restrooms, a bar, even the city living arcade in it, as well as the tv, enlarged big screen with seats, but I would love to be able to place a bar that served popcorn, candy and soda’s (etc.), like you would find in a real movie theatre in it. I also have a drive in theatre with some of these things as well, but again would love a bar with theatre treats. Also it would be nice if there was actually someone who could sell tickets to the theatre sitting in a ticket booth…..

I actually have have had funny experiences happen in my movie theatre. One time a sim took his wife to the movie theatre, and was kissing her (I had a love seat placed between individual seats), when another sim he had a pink bar with came over and slapped him…. Lol.

Did they say the theatre is going to be a rabbit hole? That’s too bad, I was hoping it was going to be playable. Rabbit holes ( other than a few jobs ), are just a disappointment for me.

You can see the movie theater in the trailer and it looks like a rabbithole building.

The main reason I gave up on Sims 3 after being given the initial game as a gift was because it was filled with rabbit holes, you could visit work place lots, but not go inside, you could go to a restaurant, but it was a rabbit hole. The rabbit holes frustrated me so much that I gave up playing it in the beginning….

But, when I got sims 4 and realized there weren’t a lot of rabbit holes other than jobs, I was happy, and when the first expansion pack came out with : active careers with actual work places I was ecstatic! I was hoping we would get more jobs just like those. I rarely use any of the rabbit holes in sims 4 (other than jobs). Even with seasons and scouts, I much prefer taking my scouts to a scout lot I made rather than sending them off to the rabbit hole. With the inclusion of get together and clubs it is easy to do.

If it is a rabbit hole it would be nice if you could at least go into the foyer, and the rabbit hole would be the doors leading to the screens.

But I guess that would mean you can buy popcorn and there’s a stuff pack for that 😂.

Sims 4 is getting TOO many rabbit holes....it's like EA is trying to turn Sims 4 into Sims 3 Version 2. Too many rabbit holes end up killing the fun of the game.
Why do you hide inside these walls?

I had the same shock as you to the TS3 rabbitholes. It felt like there was nothing to do, just run around on an empty map while all the other sims were at work, school, etc.

Lol, that might solve the issue of sims standing up in the middle of the movie and doing push-ups. We basically have everything we need for a theatre, they just need to code in lot type appropriate behaviour and code the coffee cart to sell bevrages and popcorn instead of pastries and coffee. And have movies run at set hours schedule. But I would very much like to see the sims going for movie premieres to the theater, dates and smooches in the dark. We can make theaters using the community space lot type and add the bobba tea stand, but the sims ruin everything by not staying put in their seats. And they leave empty plates and cups everywhere.

As cool is it would be to have a theater lot I believe this is going be a rabbit hole just because of how hard it is to get sims to watch a movie together. I use mods to try and make the experience go smoother because I love having a horror movie night. The only way I can see this working is if they add options like they did for the wedding pack to get sims to all sit, all gather and all watch movie. Actually I'm hoping they add more options like that to ts4 anyway! Those options saved my wedding 😆
Zombies, oh please oh please give us zombies!! :'(

I wish we had a playable Movie Theatre Venue too. Not a repeat of Sims 3 Movie Theatre.
    Oh well. :'(

I agree….. rabbit holes kill the fun for me. It is what kept me from continuing with the sims 3 after buying the basegame…..they have a system in the sims 4 to make new lot types…… why not a Cinema, or Grocery Store, or Concert Arena, or Casino’s or Hotels, or a Mall???

I can’t remember if It was TS2 where you (the player) could take images of your sims and frame them but I’m really hoping that comes back in this pack! They are kind of hinted to it by the taking a screen shot and zooming out to see it in a frame. Currently I have to have my sims perfectly positioned to capture images and then add them to a frame and it’s so time consuming.

Are we going to see "families" out at parks? Toddlers and infants? Or still just single sims?

Mind, I haven't played in a long time so I don't know if those things have been incorporated...

I'm sure we'll see families out at the recreation centers. Hopefully, they'll update parks, too.

In parks there are often a lot of child sims, at least if you send a child sim there, especially if you have monkey bars there.

Are CARS coming?! I was watching part of James Turner Lets play today and he was preparing for the next pack building a house for the Sims he plan on playing with "Growing Together". The thing is he built it with a garage, something he very rarely do! Take also into consideration that his girlfriend is Deligracy who built some of the houses in "Growing Together" and had access to the build and buy. Take from that what you want.

I doubt we will get cars in Growing Together pack or anywhere near this date but I am 99,99% sure cars are coming one day. I noticed that creators listen to out wishes and consider them and develop this game significantly but it takes a lot of time to do. A lot of arguments behind that, there is separate thread/discussion on it and it's very interesting! Wider roards, bigger districts, decorative gas stations here and there... There was even a family named Ford in one of the EP but eventually it turned out to be 'considence', we will see with time

The scene after the guy got fired looks like the toddler is playing "The Wheels On The Bus" his hands are rolling and there's a music symbol. I wonder if we can teach them songs like that !!!

I kinda disagree with that .Most rabbit holes in 3 were the careers and school .Sims 3 had plenty active buildings .Pool, museum, library, bar and if you had late night night clubs .

I know about those lots, but there was no one there when I visited them, it was really tiring running after sims trying to hold a conversation.

I’m pretty sure the sims 3 basegame had restaurants that were rabbit holes….. the best restaurants ever I think were in sims 2. But then Sims 2 I thought was way ahead of it’s time.
