Not this challenge so much, but I’m going to try to get all of the child aspirations and the teen ones too.

I did stop the teen ones last time because none of them really fit my sims personality except the high achiever one. But this time I’m just going to do them.

Im mixed about the super sim thing because I want to beat all the aspirations but I don’t like the reward traits making the game easier to gain skills and things. I guess I could always cheat the traits away though.

I restarted to complete the childhood and teen aspirations. Now with new childhood aspirations coming I feel another new start may be on the way!

@Atreya33 your idea sounds fun, so I added a new rule to my challenge. A person who is working on an aspiration can take on an additional aspiration concurrently as long as it's the next aspiration on the list when they start working on it. Here's how this has played out so far:

Jillian, founder: Completed Grilled Cheese and Archeology Scholar. Currently working on Chief of Mischief.

Gavin Richards, Gen 1 spouse: Completed Angling Ace and Best-Selling Author. Exited from rotation.

Adelaide, Gen 2 #1: Completed Beach Life. Currently working on Big Happy Family and Body Builder.

Arthur, Gen 2 #2: Currently working on City Native and Computer Whiz.

Gen 3 is currently toddling around the apartment, babbling to themselves.

-No, my almost-elderly mother, I don't think it's a good time for you to try for a baby.
-Yes, person I barely know, you have my blessing to hang out with Johnny Zest.
-No person with the mean, hot-headed and self-absorbed traits, I don't think you should get married.

This generational approach sounds like fun. You seem to be doing really well. Do you already know what the toddler will do? Or do you have a fixed list? Do you also do a child aspiration with each child?

I really like unlocking everything with one sim but it has a serious downside. The conversation options under friendly are becoming really cluttered. I recently had my sim through a black and white party for the party animal aspiration. Talking about zebras was a pain because I had to navigate through 10+ circles of conversation topics to reach the letter Z. The conversation topics are alphabetically sorted I learned and in my language the option starts with the word zebra. The trait list has also become so long that it is difficult to check one specific trait. And I am not even done yet. If I ever do this again I will definitely consider your way.

I have been thinking about how to handle this but I am too far along and too slow paced to restart for the new child aspirations. I will finish off with my current sim who only did the base game child aspirations. I will tackle the new one child aspirations with her offspring when I do the family aspirations (which I planned to do last)

This is my current status. Callisto is now a world famous celebrity, one of the biggest actrices in her world and very wealthy.

Sorry about the way the screenshots turned out. For some odd reasons I can't post normal pictures anymore

The sim I originally started with was one I made in CAS. His name was Billy McConnell. I applied one rule to him and that was that he was allowed to work on family aspirations along side the aspiration he was currently working on because those aspirations can take forever! I mainly play with aging off but turn it on every now and then so that he, his family, and the sims around them age "naturally". He eventually married Lillith Vatore (which most of my male sims usually do!). My female sims often end up with Caleb. I obviously have a thing for the Vatores!!! They had a daughter called Skye and twins called Maddie and Jack. I totally fell in love with Billy and his family and since I decided to start over I have been missing them so much!

When I restarted so that I could complete all the aspirations on one sim I decided I would use a sim born in-game to premades. I loaded up my two favourite sims...The Pancakes...and started playing. I know Eliza Pancakes is a contraversial choice but I really like her and feel sorry for her. I have to admit that I always play her as a nice Sim though! After both going to university they got good jobs and decided it was time to start a family. Their daughter Meg was born. She was a bit of a Daddy's girl from day one and that bond grew stronger when Eliza tragically died of laughter from a joke told to her by Meg during one Boxing Day meal when Meg was still a child. She has always carried the guilt around of being respsonsible her Mum's death but Bob always tried to let her know that it wasn't her fault. He hadn't got to Grim in time to plea to save Eliza's life so he also felt partly responsible for her death.

Meg completed all her childhood aspirations and reached the top of the Scouting career. When she became a teenager she decided she wanted to leave home and make it on her own. Bob decided to allow her to pursue her dream andd waved a teary goodbye to her. Meg took absolutely no money with her apart from the money for the small lot she wanted to buy in Copperdale. She also took her scouting trophies but wanted to keep them to go alongside the trophies she wanted to win from reaching the top of all the teen afterschool activities. Meg was certainly aiming high!

Meg is now living in a small house in Copperdale which she has built with the money she has earned. She is on her final teen aspiration and has reached the top of all the afterschool activities and the two part-time jobs that came with HSY. She has maxed a few skills and is promised to Alexander Goth so she can begin working on her family aspirations once she ages up.

Here is my reason why starting over again for the new childhood aspirations will be easy for me. I have just not taken to Meg like I did with Billy. Do any of you ever find that you become more attached to some sims than others? I have no idea why either because at least Meg came with a back-story where as Billy didn't. Part of me thinks that I should abandon Meg and go back to Billy and his family until the new EP comes out. I feel a bit bad just abandoning her though!

Billy on graduation day from uni. He earned a distinguished degree in Art History.

    Billy and Lillith.

Billy and Lillith's eldest child Skye. She has completed the childhood aspirations and is currently working on the teen ones.

    The twins Maddie and Jack.

Bob and Eliza's daughter and my "Restart Sim" Meg Pancakes.

Meg getting frustrated with her homework! Her house is still very basic but she paid for it all herself.

Nice pictures, you sure took your time. My sim was also born in game and did the child aspirations and scouting hobby before starting the adult aspiration so they have that in common. My main reason to use a sim born in game was to get the magical bloodline and sulani mana trait without cheating. Meg sounds like a fun sim to play. I suppose if I were still playing a teen and closer to the start of this challenge then I would start over as well to include the upcoming child aspirations.

I'm thinking of starting again with Johnny Zest and having his child being the first infant I have and the sim to go on and finally complete the challenge.

@Atreya33 I have fixed list of aspirations. It's starts with Grilled Cheese and continues in alphabetical order. The rule is that the aspirations have to be started in order. Although, a sim can take on the next two aspirations in a row. When Arthur aged up to a teen the next two aspirations were City Native and Computer Whiz, so he started both at once. Computer Whiz is a nice complement to City Living because you have to build computer skills to compete in the Geekcon contests.

I haven't really thought about child aspirations because completing child aspirations is a part of my normal game play. Adelaide completed Rambunctious Scamp because I anticipated that she would take on the Bodybuilder aspiration. Arthur completed Creative Genius because I anticipated that he would do the City Native aspiration, which requires maxing the singing skill. I'm sure I'll get to the other two before the legacy is finished. We still have far to go.

Because the aspirations have to be completed in order, it can be difficult to plan ahead when children are still toddlers. The next three unclaimed aspirations are Curator, Cure Seeker and Emissary of the Collective. I've already decided that Adelaide's fiancé will pick up the Curator aspiration when he joins the household. When Adelaide completes Bodybuilder (she's already on level 4) she'll start one of the werewolf aspirations. When little Steffan (gen 3) ages up to a teen he will start the other werewolf aspiration. It depends on which happens first. I have no idea what I'm going to do with Steffan's twin sister Leilani.

Off topic, but I love your avitar @kerryemmiebeth . She looks like she's touring the facilities and picking up slack.

Yesterday was a very good day. Callisto managed to complete 5 aspirations during one game session. That has got to be a record.
    0sbdVmE.png
Her favorite club that started out while my sim was still a child.

    nB9OGKO.png
100 hours on the computer was instantly fulfilled. After all she already was a successful author and spent many days writing on the computer

    bjcQx0W.png
An aspirations that requires space travel. I can't believe I have never done this aspiration before

    ObRRCPw.png
Just selecting this aspiration made it instantly complete. :)

    fyba6ER.png
I am definitely gonna keep some of those paintings as decorations

Now she is tackling the aspiration that started this very thread. She is trying to identify every plant in granite falls. So far I got 9 out of 10 plants identified. I hope to get the aspirations that require travelling done before the infants update.
  • kerryemmiebethkerryemmiebeth Posts: 400 Member
Wow. That is really good going. Identifying the tenth of those nine plants took me forever. I am really not looking forward to doing that aspiration again when I start my new Growing Together sim off!
  • mcruddmcrudd Posts: 11,702 Member
@Atreya33 you are doing so well :)@kerryemmiebeth I also battled with identifying all the plants, but after a bit of googling and asking for help on the forums I managed ;)

I found the last one. I already had all the ones in the deep woods near the hermit but missed the noxious elderberry near my rental log cabin. Typical. Now I just need to find a few more insects and sleep in a tent 5 times. I will get the insects first. Perhaps I can do the tent part in selvadorada while starting on the next aspiration.

@kerryemmiebeth thanks for the encouragement. Now that I have done it once, I think a next time might go faster. But that second time won't be right away ;)
@mcrudd googling is essential to me for this challenge. I thought I knew the game but apparently not everything. Besides googling it was also essential to keep track of the herbs in a list. My sim already had some herbs marked as found in the collections overview in game. I think she bought them at the stall in Henford on Bagley ages ago. But those didn't count as discovered. She had to find the wild plant and identify them herself.

Even with what I read on your post and with Googling it took me 3 sim years to complete that aspiration! I only play one aspiration at a time but I do allow the family aspirations to be built on becatuse they take forever! Billy spent the rest of his three years getting married and having three children. I miss Billy and his family so much but I just feel the need to start again with a sim born in game and work through all the new child aspirations with them. I just wish patch day would hurry up!!

I am getting impatient for the update too. I am trying to get the travelling aspirations done before the infants update, perhaps also the eco lifestyle ones. Then callisto will be ready to start the family aspirations shortly after the update.

I have been "practicing" with a new sim who I got to complete the current child aspirations and is now working through the teen ones. I want to see if I can find ways to speed up the process of completing the teen aspirations because they do take a long time to complete one by one. I use a wheel spinner to randomise there order so I can't see if it would help to do them in a certain order. The sim I am using is the child of Johnny Zest and L Faba. I hadn't thought about her being a Spellcaster because of who her mother was. When I was playing my first Aspirationi Challenge sim one of the Spellcaster aspirations came up quite early on. I do find it makes things easier when they are Spellcasters especially because of the Transportalate spell. It makes getting around so much easier and you don't have the aspirations that the mediatation or vampire ones have.

@Atreya33 and @kerryemmiebeth I am so impatient for the update I am playing a different game all together :D I will load up my sims again once the update drops LOL

I also play a spellcaster for this challenge, but mainly because I like the idea of my sim being magical. The transportation is very useful, I use it all the time. But she also maxed meditation. I like to use that teleportation for my non occult sims, it thankfully doesn't require to complete any aspiration.

I was also playing another game while waiting for the update but somehow got pulled back into the sims 4. Reading about the update made me want to get my sims ready.

Callisto is on a roll. I can't believe I actually reached aspiration 50. She has aced several aspirations that require a sim to travel around in the world. I only need to get the eco lifestyle aspirations out of the way and then she can focus on the aspirations that she can do at home while raising a family with the upcoming growing together pack.

    kWwwkeu.png

Her last one was the jungle explorer which I really enjoyed. It is one of the few aspirations I had completed prior to this challenge. This second time was a lot easier because she can summon grilled cheese, teleport, and use magic. (no potion of plentiful needs because that just makes it boring)
    OXVxAV5.png
    Finding that last treasure
    sH81zBo.png
    Exploring the local traditions

    The other nature aspirations
    I55gcNb.png
Camping in granite falls made me appreciate this pack, even if it could benefit from a pack refresh
    rXjLsJ3.png
Hard to believe this was the first time to sylvan glade for Callisto. She completed the plant collection for this aspiration

Wow. You are doing so well. My sim has died of laughter (again) half way through one of the Star Wars Aspirations. Grim wouldn't listen to the pleas from her husband or daughter. I seriously think the death from laughter needs seriously toning down because it is my biggest cause of death apart from death by old age. I'm going to bring her back to life before she carries on.

I have never had a death from laughter happening in my game. I suppose it has to do with play style. Your sims must be living a happier life than mine.

This is the second time she has died of laughter in a few days. This time she was playing the violin, became hysterical before I noticed and died!

My Aspiration Legacy family covered themselves with glory at the Starlight Accolades.

First there was Lilith Vatore. She married into the legacy and completed the Good Vampire and Joke Star aspirations before she switched careers to work on the Master Actor aspiration. She's on level 3 now, which requires winning an Accolade, so I was relieved when she was nominated for Best Actress and won. Ironically, she won for playing a vampire repair tech.

Then there was her brother-in-law, Hamon. He's in the fashion industry, so he jumped at the chance to accompany her to the Accolades and see who's wearing who. He previously completed the Fabulously Wealthy and Freelance Botanist aspirations. Now he's trying to spend that money with the Mansion Baron aspiration. After Lilith returned to her seat from accepting her award, Hamon was stunned to hear that he had won an award that he didn't even know he was nominated for.

Then there's Lilith's husband, Tai. He's finished the Extreme Sports Enthusiast aspiration and is now on level four of Jungle Explorer. Frankly, he's not the pomp and circumstance type. He'd rather be out braving the elements, but he knew it was important to be there for Lilith and cheer her on. He promised he'd behave himself, and he really, really meant it at the time. Unfortunately, the opportunity to use his feline death relic on Judith Ward was too good to pass up. Hopefully, people won't think it's a new celebrity beauty trend.

I have restarted my attempt at the challenge now the new pack is out. Jenna Roswell is the daughter of Ted and Meredith Roswell from Strangerville. I have really enjoyed playing them.

Jenna was my first infant although I wish I had left aging off so she could have hit more milestones. As a toddler she got all her skills to level 5 and becaame very close to the family dog Sammy.

As a child she achieved all 8 of the childhood aspirations. She was definetly a Daddy's Girl. Here is Ted helpng her to learn to ride her bike.

As a teenager she left home with no money and no possessions. She did let her parents buy her a plot of land at 23 Eucalyptus Lane in the Hopewell Hills neighbourhood of San Sequoia. She completed all 4 of the teen aspirations. Here she is breaking up with her first boyfriend which she had to do for one of the aspirations. Unfortunately for the poor young man she did it publically at the Spice Festival!

She is now a young adult. She has completed her first aspiration (Spellcraft and Sorcery) becoming a Spellcaster in the process. She is now working on her second aspiration (Mansion Baron), Her house is currently worth 130,000 Simolians. She only does one aspiration at a time but I do allow her to work on the family aspirations because they take a long time! She had a brief fling with Kyle Kyleson in a rocket ship at the Geekcon festival and she has just given birth to their daughter who she has named Millie. Jenna and Kyle have remained friends and Kyle will help to raise his daughter. Here is baby Millie wearing a cute little onesie her Grandma Meredith knit for her.

Jenna will complete all the aspirations on her own. I will turn aging off at times and I will also use potions to reset her age when needed. I'm very excited to finally get my teeth stuck into this challenge.
