I'm just going to stick with 3. It's clear EA does NOT care about older players who have voiced they do not like the direction the game is going in. Can't milk me for "micro" transactions if I'm not buying the new stuff.
Everything I've seen up to this point just reminds me of Ts4. They are both life simulators so I get that there will be simularities but I have yet to see anything to set it apart from the sims or make it special.
Yes, I plan on getting Paralives as soon as it's released (possible 2021)
As someone who’s been playing The Sims for 20+ years, I will 100% be jumping ship. I’ve said for a long time that TS4 will likely be my last Sims game unless something dramatically changes with EA.
I’ve poured thousands of dollars into The Sims Franchise over the years. I’m sick of micro transactions. I’m sick of there being more interest in pleasing shareholders than providing a good quality product. In what other industry do we pay full price for a product that does not work as advertised? If I bought a new car and the engine didn’t work, you’d bet I’d be taking it back to the dealership. If I ordered a hamburger at a restaurant and they brought out just a bun with nothing else on it, I’d be asking for my money back.
While there are certainly some things that TS4 does exceptionally well, it was too little too late for me. The damage had been done and I don’t know if that broken trust can be restored.
On the contrary, I’ve taken immense joy in indie games. I’m paying a fraction of the cost and having a lot more fun in the process. Plus the developers are often very transparent and engaged with the community.
I’ve been backing Paralives since 2018. I love what I’ve seen and I will continue to patiently wait for a finished product.

A road in front of a house how I missed this can't wait to see cars when they add them. So tired of Sims 4 worlds where lots feel so detached from the neighborhoods.
Sims 4 went from "You Rule" to "One of the stories we want you to tell"
Very nice! It may be a small thing, but I like how there can be different roof patterns on the same house. Paying attention to RL details that Sims misses.
I think the best answer is to check out gameplay videos and reviews of both games once they come out and then buying the one(s) you like. You don't have to profess your undying loyalty to a franchise, company or product. Just give them both a chance and then choose to buy one, or both, or neither. It's all up to whether or not you like what you see.
I'm definitely looking forward to both, but what I will and won't purchase will depend on how the final version of each game turns out. I'm veeeery excited ). Hope at least one of them releases next year, although it feels unlikely. It's about time for the life simulator genre to get shaken up a little
Ts4 is that you?👀
Seriously though I've been following paralives out of curiosity to see where this game ultimately goes even though I have no personal interest in it.
I thought it was cool in the beginning and I liked the idea of an indie dev bringing something new and unique to a life simulator game.
But it seems as the time goes by it's copying ts4 too closely and I've kinda lost my respect for it.
The colors, the assets, the new art style, the skills, the animations etc. Like I've said I expect similarities in a life sim but this is turning into a copycat. Maybe the fans are at fault. People have been pitting the two against eachother in a competition since paralives first started. And simmers who are angry with ts4 are hoping and praying this will be the sims takeover game. Maybe the dev is going in this direction because of it.
The only minor things I've seen that sets it apart is the little detailed features like sitting under a tree, the added cas details and things like that. But those are all things I would expect to be possible with a newer game and engine anyway. I imagine Ts5 would have newer detailed features just because of the upgraded technology.
I'm not sure I'm seeing the copycat aspect. 🤔 There's a finite number of designs for tables, grills, sofas, bikes, trees, flowers, building materials, etc. So I'd expect to see some of the same assets in a new life simulator.

I really love the textures in these screenshots.
I’ll choose whichever one has nice simulation gameplay that I like and is released as playable, whenever that is.
Until then, I still have Sims 1/2/3/4 and other similar games like Rune Factory, Stardew Valley, Sandrock, etc.

You are so fast!

So many copies of TS4 assets...

Maybe I'm over analyzing it😅😅
