@Simmingal, That was hilarious! I hope you do more. I liked your makeovers.
You may be pleased to know that this story has pushed me over the edge - I must have the City Living pack! I want my Sims to go to festivals and live in their very own funky apartment. Next time there is a 50% sale I will have it!
City Living is my favorite pack by far. One of the few Game Packs I'd even recommend at full price, but of course there are enough sales that it's always worth it to wait for one.

It's one of my favorite EPs, and I highly recommend it.
To me the extreme limits on what you can do with the apartments makes for a challenge. Get the most out of a small space with limits on reshaping. As you can see in this thread, she's managed to move the interior rooms around to give a much nicer apartment.

On the question I had about the hand gesture. A little follow-up to 'clear the air' so it doesn't read like I was making an accusation.
It's only risen to widespread prominence as a gesture to denote membership in a terrorist organization within the last 4-5 years, more recent than the development of Sims 4. I was still surprised to see it, but to most people it had a completely innocent meaning until very recently when it got co-opted (while the Watchman TV show used a lot of elements from actual history, I think them using that sign as the gesture for the 1930s bad guys was not from history but rather so that modern viewers would link those bad guys to their real world 21st century counterpart).
If a mod maker had added it to Sims 4, that would be more recent, and a much less innocent move.
I don't use Discord because it doesn't support multiple accounts and I don't need folks at work wondering what I'm doing even on my own time. Until Discord catches up with every single other voice / video conferencing system, I limit where I use it:
Anyway. Love seeing this storyline because this new pack is another one I really like. Too many negative threads on it, when to me it's exactly the gameplay I wanted to see when I first got Sims 1 20 years ago. While I know versions of this may have been in other Sims games, I missed those. Now I'm here in Sims 4 and right after I get here the pack for the kind of gameplay I always wanted is finally here at the same time I am.
So I'm glad to see threads from people using that content to make great stories.

@Simmingal You have such a great sense of humor and I loved reading this (it almost looks like a positive review for the pack just by the way you play it, seem to have fun with it, and share the adventures you have with your sims with us )
Seeing a black sim give a white power gang sign to a middle eastern sim is... odd.
Oh, man, now I KNOW I am totally past it. To me, that's an OK sign (when held up in the air, anyway). Just point me to the nearest rocking chair...but I don't knit. I crochet.
I love this series. I'm happy to see someone else having fun with this pack, I think it's fun too. Good heavens, that last apartment! You made that mess look goood.

I believe in some countries that gesture is a more earthy sort of obscene gesture, like the middle finger here in the USA. But I'm not from any of those countries so maybe my intel is off.

According to a quick Google search, the "OK" gesture is basically the same as calling someone the exit to the digestive system (if you catch my drift) in Turkey, Spain, and parts of South America.

Wow what a fun story. Congratulations Patina! Penny is my favourite sim. Also thatβs a really nice looking picture of Judith Ward, she looks really old and posh in my game π
This was a really nice story to read through, currently really bored and decided to read a bunch of stories and threads on here and maybe get some inspiration for my own game...
Penny and Patina realized they had forgotten to have babyshower
that obviously wouldn't do so they had small one at Planet Honey Pop
Diego gifted them a lovely Mysims figure from his collection
I think Bheedas gave a potty I sold and Salim gave them fox toy
all in all it seems this would be great idea if you want to get rich
but I do feel like next time I'll do it at home and while sim is expecting
not while baby is there already and can't join the festivities since its not home I didn't think of that
anyway then they went home and I had Patina give Diego apartment key
because for some reason Penny couldn't and I am still confused why
will Diego not do Penny? Come on, baby needs funny uncle.
Unfortunately it also doesn't seem that Diego is doing much funny uncle_ing
he just keeps painting and dancing on side, yes, very not Kyle of him its almost refreshing.
I guess he is taking the cool uncle approach
also yes baby is aging up although I noticed that the baby was so quiet and sweet now
I like this change I might keep babies for day or two before I age them
this is little Paul say hi
he is sunny little nooboo so his first thing to do was to smile
this seemed to confuse Patina but Penny was excited
and Diego kept being cool uncle, okay, smiley cool uncle.
or perhaps, enlightened cool uncle

These 2 appeared quite confused about what they wanted and well, so was Patina.
for their apartment was already cute.
they told her about how mysteriously these all kids items had just appeared
but they don't remember if they have kids or not, strange...
Patina promised to get rid of the kids items and do one of the rooms for them and so they left...
and Penny randomly walked in?
no idea what that was about...
either way it was renovation time
I tried to do something about their bathroom to tie it with rest of the house
but honestly this day I was very uninspired and ruined it
and rightfully enough Bheedas also hated the results
I'm sorry you two I really am I don't know why I did this to you
I didn't mean to also ruin your house dreams
due to this Patina got into great creative slump and decided to take some time off work
apartment did its worst as well
and for a while things just kept being gloomy
well that is until Penny came over to cheer her up
π‘ Gallery π Stories π World Project π₯ MOD/CC Free
to release some stress
and Patina agreed for she really needed to get out of the depression apartment
Penny was really hyped...
But sadly enough Pennys hype was not enough to overturn the weather problems for our girls
regardless the festival went quite well
I mean they got to meet some new people
and even some... shady ones
(guess the sim )
also Patina got to try the bubble blower for first time
but I still feel like the absolute highlight of the evening was when Penny joined the dark side
and people finally realized it was probably not the right weather for this gathering
and for a moment it looked like some disaster movie
regardless they both made it back home alive so we shall remember this fondly
Bonus:
or lowkey a hot ghost look but give her some clothes would you
(also I'm sorry this took so long to continue got distracted
many screens to post but I just have to try and organize them )

And I shall use this gesture when encouraging people to release some stress from now on
It's been a while since the story of Patina Wainscot begun
and truth to be told writer completely forgot to continue it
(blame it on the chaos last year making game quite a struggle to play)
there has been new friendships,
bigger gigs
and there also has been some major developments on romance front
at certain summer festivals for example
but thats not the point simmingal dang it stay on subject
ultimately resulting in unexpectedly fast elopement
that for who knows what reason was not announced at the time
it seems he too was out for some quality time with Judith
it was bit of a rushed and confusing romance festival affair but writer would like to announce
that Penny and Patina are now happily married
and looking forward to their life together
π‘ Gallery π Stories π World Project π₯ MOD/CC Free
After their elopement
it fast became clear to Penny and Patina
that living in Patinas gloomy apartment just wouldn't do
they therefore decided to instead move to Pennys apartment
which despite being right next door was slighty less sus and broken
they also did a little renovation while at it
well Penny and Patina were not only ones who moved
Salim has also moved to Spice Market
because he figured his old apartment just cost way too much for a tortured writer such as himself
Yes, he definitely has more furniture to nap on now which is nice
he also thought that the streets of Spice Market are way more exciting to stalk,
whatever that means.
yes..who knows...
and idk who is more sus Salim or J
Both, I'll go with both.
regardless back to the subject
after the moving chaos
Patina suddenly found herself without project,
hmm strange, somehow city just didn't want to be renovated lately
this has pushed her to alternate life goals,
like her want to have a big family.
Patina had heard of the new scientific breakthrough, Science babies,
and was now eagerly persuading Penny that they should have a nooboo.
Penny for Pennys thoughts?
I don't think she was quite as interested in nooboos as Patina.
π‘ Gallery π Stories π World Project π₯ MOD/CC Free
even if Penny did feel like going back on her yes for nooboos
too late now Penny you already promised
it was surprisingly quick
and there the nooboo was the very day
Penny still wasn't sure how to feel about it
but I think eventually her love for Patina won
and the new possibilities in baby fashion
Yes, Penny did get rather inspired by trying on different outfits for the nooboo
Diego: Really Penny... really...
I have feeling Diego was sort of judging her constant baby cloth changing but after all baby trends change so fast...
Penny would really have to start learning that knitting now that the knits are in
each in their own way eh.

it appears Patina isn't fan of Mortimer

and the watcher has hard time screenshotting it all
also I don't think Pennys baby clothes are gonna make it so he got a style change
little Paul can even sit up now
and therefore he has been exploring new food options
he still has hard time getting the food to his mouth
but after babbling it through with Diego
we are now convinced that he is the best food critic in the city
I mean what baby says no to yogurt and yes to lemon
what a legend
