I'm so peeved at this moment. I took the ingame week slowly, trying to savor gameplay, and busy taking Joey and Astrid through the steps to (hopefully) a fabulous wedding. After several RL days, yesterday I got to Sunday. Sent them to church, as usual, and upon their return had Erik and Kayleigh change to the clothing they selected for the Starlight Accolades Show. Erik is up for number Sixteen! Got them to the PBP Studios/Lounge and the two chatted and then greeted others as they strolled into the room. We waited, waited, and then waited some more. No Host. I saved, briefly, at one point. Then when it became 2:45-ish game time and stillno Host, I exited without saving. I went in again, but because I had saved previously, nothing really changed. I tried to get them through it. The time ebbed until again, it was still after two in the afternoon. And still NO HOST. Time came in RL, that had me shut down. I exited without saving. I determined I had a problem, Houston. Today, I have removed the latest mod ( and cc stuff needed), I had recently placed into my game, as the other mods have been in place without interfering with the Show. I will roll back, ever so slightly to when they get home from church, or, if I'm lucky right before they headed out and try again. I just have to read the time on when the saves were made and do a game recovery. I hate to say this, but with all of the garbage I've gone through, I've actually gotten pretty good at the whole save recovery thing. I shouldn't have to get adept at it, but what can I say? There is almost always a hiccup, or two, or three with this game.
I still love it, I'm still willing to play, but come on, will somebody give this old granny a break? Please.
My sims became mindful and completed the Mt Komorebi sightseer aspiration! They got the worldly knowledge trait which gives them discounts at markets and they will enjoy eating foreign food.
I think they deserve this as they’ve seen most of Mt Komorebi and taken part in its festivals and traditions. Now they will relax before climbing the mountain
I turned off the autonomy for Victorie. Usually, I find autonomous actions entertaining, but right now I just want to play dolls in peace, so I would rather not deal with them having opinions. Besides, it wasn't that she was doing anything particularly interesting to begin with, besides washing her hands 10 times a day and trying and failing over and over again to get into a room without door to drink super expensive, masterpiece-quality juice meant for sale. Thankfully, she is yet to figure out that she doesn't need door to teleport inside.
Erik is finding the days in between the Starlight Accolade Show to be going at a snail's pace, even though he keeps himself busy. Concerts, photoshoots, working on his next album. His children are all back to their ornery selves, but cuteness prevails all the same. Joey and Astrid both have Friday off and so they take a quick trip to Tartosa to pick up the flowers for their upcoming wedding. While they're away, Erik and Kayleigh ponder how they might feel once the couple moves out. Aaron is slowly moving up in his celebrity status. He's doing very well garnering a huge following on his Simstagram.
Sunday arrives, Father James' Homily runs long and Erik grows antsy. They finally are able to bolt for the door, and arrived at the Show after eleven. As usual, they are the first ones to arrive. Erik doesn't sit around and wait well. Like a caged lion, his anxiety is pent up. Kayleigh voices her concern, if he can't calm himself down. So, he decides to play the baby grand piano on stage right. Slowly, the other celebrities make their way into the room. Erik finishes the piece he was playing and takes a seat up front. Kayleigh joins him there and Erik makes himself busy, greeting the others. Finally, the Show begins as the Host takes the stage. She seems amicable, at first. But the producers have decided to go back to the normal lineup. Acting first, miscellaneous awards, next and then finally Best Song. However, she gets a little annoyed with the audience and scolds them. (We'll call it a mild threat.)
The ceremony continues and Erik is awarded his 16th Starlight Accolade for Best Song, Heart of the Matter.
My two engaged Sims, Alex and Natalie, finally got married. What a wedding though. Vlad was a guest but he died before the ceremony. Alex and Natalie exchanged their vows with nobody watching, they were too busy crying over Vlad. Natalie's mother Penelope had a crush on Vlad and had been hoping to get closer to him. Oh well. Oh and Penelope, Natalie and Alex were so tired they just found couches to sleep on mostly. A & N had a slow dance, Natalie ate some wedding cake (they never cut the cake together though). No mingling with any guests. All a bit dull really. There was an over-riding sadness over Vlad I guess. Not a good start to married life, eh?

I do wonder if that's the reason, it was proper etiquette back in the day, to postpone a wedding upon a death in the family? My paternal grandfather passed away exactly one week to the day, after I got married. Phew.

Congrats to the happy couple 🙂🙂 though I'm sorry it was a bit of a whirlwind day as well... Hopefully there future will be brighter lol.
I noticed in my game when my Sims get married they usually don't cut the cake. Maybe it's a tradition that's fading out?
Do you have MWS? If you do, make certain you place the cake on a flat surface table. Click the cake, call guests to the cutting and select the bride or groom to cut the cake. It doesn't just happen automatically anymore. Now, if you don't have MWS then you may need to see if a mod (if you have any) is the culprit. If you don't, do a game repair, or if you're using the App and like me, can't find this option, do a game folder reset. Something is a miss.
@Luna15 Thank you so much for your very kind words. I prefer reading that is immersive, too, wherein you're right there with the characters. I'm glad I've been able to achieve that. You just made my day.
My sims tried to climb Mt Komorebi but sadly they didn’t make it.
They were well prepared but on the day the mountain was icy, and when they got a little way up there was a thunder snow storm. Autumn ate one of the ham sandwiches meant for the others and got sick as she is a vegetarian and Summer and Winter both got a bit injured. There was a tent but it was only for two sims so I sent them home.
They were a bit upset but they had a group meeting and they are all fine now. They will try again soon!
Erik awoke late and scrambled to get to the church to finish up the last-minute setting up. He also had to be there to receive the delivery of the wedding cake. Kayleigh, also, scrambled out of bed to make the wedding party a nice breakfast. All got down to the church in time, and sadly, their priest and their guests were late. Father James rushed in just before the rest of the guests arrived. He commence with the ceremony. The Flower Girl managed to twist her ankle on the way down the aisle, her basket of petals flying out of her hand as she all but fell down. This left the Ring Bearer the Groom's youngest brother, feeling apprehensive. He had promised not to mess up again, as he had at their second oldest brother's wedding. Under his breath, he kept saying "I won't drop the rings, I won't drop the rings …" Happily, he made it down the aisle. Finally, the wedding went off, without any more hitches. This appeared to be how weddings were done, Cantrell Style.
After the toasts, the First Dance, the cake-cutting, and lastly the speeches, Joey whisked his bride back to Henford-on-Bagley to reveal his wedding gift to her.
Victorie went on a dinner date with Grim Reaper. They had good time (though they turned out to have no romantic spark), but the service at the restaurant was so slow that by the time the food finally arrived, it was past midnight and the date was over. I suspect it was the faulth of the waiter, who kept having angry fits instead of doing his job.

Do this. Click on the Chef when your Sims first arrive and select Debug. Also, pick a restaurant that's been upgraded to have at least two chef stations. This will speed thins up a bit.
I almost killed my computer with the latest patch of cc I downloaded and nearly gave myself a heart attack, a day before my uni assignment is due. Fun times to be had at 2 at night (insomnia is a bee-witch). The thing was: the folder would neither open or close properly, so I attempted to close it with Task Manager, but must've klicked on a wrong thing, because suddenly my screen went white. A forced shut down and a restart later, everything is back in working order, but I am still spooked and seriously considering downsizing my cc folder. But it's all so pretty!
The youngest heiress of the empire that my selfsim has founded has thrown a big Halloween party, during which her mother decided to die of old age.
The heiress had been skipping most of the party to fool around with her boyfriend, so she happened to be extremely flirty when the time came to witness death. I had no hope, but she managed to seduce the good ol' Grimmy into sparing her mother (at least for the party, I guess, cause she re-died the next day lol)-- She's from a spellcaster line, so she managed to cure everyone's grief with Potions of Emotional Stability!
Ea_Cade has been downloaded and moved in with my SimGuru household. He and SimGuruNinja immediately got into a discussion of the correct way to pronounce live mode.
They decided to continue the discussion outside.
Things quickly escalated.
