Purchase DLC through EA app?

Does buying DLC through the EA app work as intended? I recently switched laptops and the new one has the EA app because I couldn't find the installer for origin anymore. But now the EA app seems to be put on hold. Will purchases through the app be visible in origin if I need to switch back? I might grab my first kit during the holidays but don't want to install everything again.

@Atreya33 for me buying through the EA App worked just fine. As for origin recognizing purchases made through the EA App: it does, so no problems there.

I believe all bought dlc will tie to your EA Account, not to the App. App will get needed info from your Account. Hard to see it work in any other way, but pls post how it went

I just bought the clutter kit and used the EA app, and it worked great. In fact, it was much faster than Origin was. I would have to hunt through Origin to even find where I could download. I am pleased with the new app, so far.

ea is making me dl there app. i did and it did nothing. does one have to pay for this and if so where do u pay for it?

I think some of the transfer just takes some time, plus that it might help top restart your computer.

I got the forced switch myself. I hate surprises like this, I'd much preferred to get a date in advance so that I could prepare and complete any in-game tasks I'm working on, in case there won't be any access to the game in a while.

Does anyone have any tips for switching to the EA App from Origin? I would like to download the new update, but am afraid of doing it with all of the problems people have been reporting.
I haven't played the game in months because I didn't want to update to the EA App, but now it looks like I have to...
