  You have to schedule your own chess and computer events or ask the principal to schedule it. I don’t know why they didn’t do the same thing for prom.
  
  All I can think is that the other sims wouldn’t be able to ask your Sim to prom.

  I noticed that when your Sims age up from teen to young adult, you stop getting the prom every week. This is a bug and EA is working on it, so hang tight everyone
