From what I have seen so far, I am actually a bit hesitant. It's just another website to download mods from that you then install the same way you would from the makers own websites, but with smaller thumbnails. What's really the difference?
If I understand correctly, you need the app for it to automatically update, but the app doesn't appear to support the sims yet (at least not according to their own FAQ). Am I wrong?
Moreover, I advise that the cart button must be destroyed!
One more thing. I want CC soo bad, but I'm terrible with computers. If there's an icon I can click on I'm good. But putting in new taking out old and doing repairs would be a BIG no for me. So would it be easy for me too use?

From everything I've read, the reason they are going with the manager is so that people who are not comfortable with computers will have an easier time putting CC in their game. So if you are "terrible with computers" that's the way you'll want to go. I'm not sure if it would be wise to do so during the beta phase. You may want to wait until they have a "full release" version since beta versions often require that you know something about computers when they inevitably have bugs.

Thank you, my heart says now, now, but my head says wait. I wonder who will win. I hope it comes fast for Mac. I don't know how long I can hold out. I guess the wait is good in the sense that I can see what happens for the pc players, shouting or praising.
I wonder why they didn't just wait until December 6th to release all this? Especially since the website will be updated, and the mod manager will release.
Yeah, I'm gonna wait till they put sims 4 on the curseforge app in December, doesn't seem much point using it now.
I'll keep an eye out, I already use the app for WoW and if they add sims I'd probably use it for sims 4, even though they (overwolf) do not have the best reputation. I only keep a few mods and already have sites bookmarked etc. so the current setup isn't any easier. I still have to keep up[ with them myself, whereas the curseforge app checks every time I boot it (every couple of days) and I can update my WoW mods easily.
I am so confused. When does it go live? Right now is an open beta right? Where do I find the mod manager? All I found is the website but the website isn't going to tell me when my CC needs updating.. is the mod manager not out yet? Is it only the website up right now?
A mini Overwolf/CurseForge FAQ
Will this work like Steam mods and auto-update my mods? Yes, mods will auto-update when the creator releases an update on CurseForge.
Can we disable auto-updates like in Origin? I always wait a little before updating (to wait for bug fixes or mod updates), but wish to keep playing until then. If my mods auto-updated without my game itself being updated that would be a big problem.
If that doesn't happen, then this is a godsend. I spend months without playing the game and updating everything when I come back is always a daunting task that takes a whole day, even with spreadsheets to help.

From what I've seen said so far, no, you can't disable auto-updates.

I had almost all my baby outfits rejected or they required change. I uploaded one test outfit and it got accepted. So then I took my time loading up all the others the same way. They either got rejected because of "copyright" where I have a pic of Mickey mouse or baby Yoda and so on, or they required change. It said because they are a texture image they need an in game pic, the thing is just that baby outfits are not texture images, the babies are not sims they are more like a mod override replacement. Ugh I sent a ticket in and hope they can either accept those ones or I will have to do ingame pics of them all and I am not even sure what the pic sizes are. It is the hardest website I have ever tried to upload something too
Hi simmers I have a question I would like help with please.
I managed to with the help of the overwolf cursforge support team get my none copyrighted outfits approved. I have a question, how do I delete the rejected ones?
Ok, I was very excited but then I've read about the spam and malware. It makes me a bit hesitant. But I guess mods coming from like Twisted Mexi (sorry, it's the only modder I know ), will be fine?
When is the end of the Beta version? So when is the official "official" release of it?

ETA: There was some chatter on Twitter yesterday suggesting Amazon and Twitch would profit.

The Straud Family Tree
Curseforge is no longer owned by Twitch. It was at one point, but a couple years ago it was sold to Overwolf. They're no longer affiliated in any way.
[source: was a twitch employee during the sale, although I'm sure there are public records of this as well]
