Okay, This Nearly Brought Me to Tears

Taken from the announcement page:

"We’re also excited to share that infants will be arriving in early 2023!"

Considering that's only a few short months away, I may stall the birth of my Sims' children for a bit. Or, roll back to fully enjoy what this may mean. Too excited for words.

It’s exciting! I hope they continue to show us screenshots or videos of the little one. The one they showed was simply adorable

I didn't watch the livestream. I just read the notes EA_Cade posted for us. I'm hoping there will be a link for those of us who missed it.

We have two major holidays to help make the time go by faster. :) Sink yourself into the Seasons coming and that should help. I just hope I'm not expecting too much. I am even considering rolling back to before my Sims become parents. If these infants are what I'm hoping for, I definitely will do that. If not, I'll just continue on from where I am.

I don’t particularly want to delay my stories for three months or so. I’ll just incorporate this new gameplay into the saves when it comes! I may start a test save to properly get used to everything.

Oh, I'll keep playing my game and sharing stories, to be sure. But I always do a Save As, with each gaming session, so if I need to, I can roll back and/or recover a save to continue going forward. I just would like to experience the infants with this particular favorite Sim of mine. I started a Flashback version for HSY, which was far better than just starting all over from scratch, to a degree. I have since made this save my new Main Save RESET. It all depends on what they give us. I'll determine what to do when they 'drop', which I presume is what's going to take place, such as when we got Toddlers.

In the course of watching things just now, I did see an infant in a high chair, wriggling around. It shall be entirely interesting to see what they've been able to do. I recall the infant from Sims2, which was limited in its own way. But not tethered, thankfully.

Yep….. I actually did get tears on my eyes when I heard that baby cry. And even more surprised when I saw the baby crawI, sit up, and fall over. I have been wanting babies so badly for so long. And it looks like our sims are going to be able to take them with them when they leave the house too. I’m so excited over babies and also probably a generations pack. There was a picture of a child on a bike as well as an infant in a back pack. I hope they also update children to be able to play things like tag and cops and robbers and things too,

I'm very excited for the new babies too. Personally I don't think they will replace either our bassinet bound babies or our toddlers, as that would seem like it would mess up people's saves. I think it's a new lifestate between babies and toddlers. So we'll have "newborns" (bassinet babes), "infants" as the sims team referred to them, but I'm going to call them "early toddlers" lol, and our current toddlers, which will be "later toddlers" or maybe even preschoolers.

I could be wrong of course but that's what I think.

Interesting. I do wonder what they've got up their sleeves for us. I would say this will quite possibly make up (for me, at least) the freebie of the Base Game. I paid close to $70.00 for my copy and $5.00 Kit doesn't cut it in my book. Freed babies, an actual life stage, is another thing altogether. I know I cried the day the Toddlers dropped. They also ended up being far more than I ever imagined. Can't go back to Sims2 Toddlers, nor Sims 3 Toddlers. These ones in Sims4 are the BEST.

Also, I hate to get myself too excited at the same time. But, if they did decide to give us the stage between tethered babies and Toddlers, I wouldn't mind, that would work just fine. However, my Sims' first baby is already a Toddler, and his twin sisters will be Toddlers in just about five Sim days … So, depending on what they give us, I may still go back a save or two.

I can't even imagine them replacing the Toddlers. That would remove a life stage, after all. They're finally giving us an infant, which is a life stage, over the Object we've got now. And my hope is, too, that the infants will be more interactive.

Well, even from the little snippets we've been given, we already know they can crawl, fall over, sneeze, be picked up off the floor and be carried on someone's back in a baby carrier.

I imagine they will come as the pre-generations EP patch. All we will need now is pre-teens 😉

Yes, pre-teens would be cool. It was so very hard for me to see those shorty Teens drive in Sims3. I kept thinking you're not even old enough for a Learner's Permit! LOL

But, if we don't get the pre-Teens, the untethered babies suits me just fine. I may have to go back and watch more of the video than I did originally. Seems I missed way more than I thought.

I just finished watching the entire after Summit video. Didn't see the baby crawling until the very last moment! Kid has a serious case of 'round bottom'. He lost his balance and fell onto his back so cute! These infants are definitely UNTETHERED. I'm very happy and still not able to play my game. LOL

I know! It's so exciting! I'm trying not to get too hyped just in case it lets me down, but it's hard. :D

I'm excited but really wish they'd get rid of the basinet-stuck babies altogether and just use the new life-stage.

Woke up this morning after a fitful night's sleep with a HUGE concern. Is the baby crawling shown in the video from Sims Mobile? I read somewhere, they had babies that crawl, which was upsetting enough. Now, I'm worried. Sorry to splash cold water on everyone so early in the morning. I do hope EA shares more, sooner rather than later to assuage any concerns.

Nah not sims mobile, they don’t have graphics like that and they were well past the segment that mentioned anything for sims mobiles
