The Sims Summit Watch Party and Giveaway

Just returned home and watched the stream. So excited about the infants! I actually cried for joy.

I'm glad Sims 5 is still a few years off, but also happy that we get to hear about its development and maybe even have some input.

I enjoyed the professional look of the stream and felt the excitement was appealing. I wish it had been a bit longer and included a winter roadmap for Sims 4. But that's coming soon, right?

Excited about CurseForge getting Sims onboard as I use it for W.o.W mods and my son and daughter in law use it also for W.o.W and other games. For those worrying about paying its all free and you will be able to see what mods need updating real easy there.
Glad babies are being freed and hope in the next generation they will be freed in base game
Also since I know nothing about Paralives I thought that the patterns they showed us was similar from the patterns that were in the pattern creator in TS3 and the colour wheel coming back in the next generation that is great hope it can be used in CAS also for clothes, accessories, tatts, hair, eyes
The next generation with it being single player or able to play with friends kind of reminds me of the multiplayer mod where you can play with your friends at the same time in the same house maybe they are working with the creator of it or not
Will I get the next generation will available yes but not til been out over 6 months or a year depending on the cost
As for the lack of talking about bug fixes, updates, refreshes what is coming the next 2.5 months yes disappointed but hopefully we will have something besides the 12 days of Simsmas to look forward before the launch of the 2 new EPs and freed babies and what ever else is going to happen in the new year

    Congrats to the winners

Babies aren't anywhere near the top of my interests, but I am willing to give the freed babies a try. After all, if they annoy me too much, I can always just age them up.

Same. Happy that the people who have wanted them for years will have them, but I will be aging them up whenever I'm ready for toddlers. Will definitely give them a try though.

I really want to take babies out with the rest of the family, whenever we go out on family outings. No more leaving them at home and rushing to get them whenever they cry.

I'm so happy for the baby update, it's something I have been wanting for a very long time.

This was the most exciting moment in the stream for me. I am torn now because I have so many babies in my save, and wish I could wait to play until the update. But I can't realistically wait that long. Oh, well, by the time we get the update it'll be time for a new generation of babies. 🍼

I’m excited I’m not sure if I want my sims to have babies until the update 🥹🥹 I’m so going to get attached to my sims. I have a hard time letting go and now it’ll be worse

@SelinaKyles same. No new babies in my game until the update.

Improved babies is the best news for the family player in me. Hoping they go full on adorable with the babies and really do them justice because this is the update I'm most looking forward to. We need different personalities for our babies from happy, to cranky and anything in-between.

Really liked watching this little munchkin crawl.

He sneezed then wiggle his little body and fell backwards.

Then his mommy picked him up off the ground. I can see the team is adding in all the little details.

Babies look great from what I see they're everything I wanted and requested over the years. A huge gap in missing game play has now been fixed we won't have to deal with a lifeless bassinet but finally a real life stage babies are more than newborns they learn they move and eventually crawl it so was weird instantly jumping to toddler with them walking.

Hopefully its true parents can carry them on their back so they don't have to stay home with a babysitter.

When I enlarged the picture, she's carrying the baby on her back in an infant carrier. Hoping this is coming as well because I really want to take my baby out and about with me. Babies are a part of the family too.

I noticed that child in the photo is on the bike too. Would be cool for children to be able to ride bikes and maybe scooters.

    It's a toddler set as a baby lifestage :p

    Bablers.
Well, that's the best thing from this for me.

I have no idea what we are getting between now and January, if anything is coming at all.
Actually, that's probably by design if there is nothing. That will give them time to fix bugs without introducing new ones and also give new players time to buy up old packs this holiday season.

And whatever is coming after TS4 is going to be social. It seems like they are trying to get around the problem of custom content and multi-player with a system that can handle in-game customized content.

I am concerned about them wanting us to play across pc and mobile devices.
How much will the PC game be limited by smart phones?

Not really feeling good about any of this, other than babies freed from the bassinet.
I am really concerned about TS4 being too large to be manageable. If the next packs are as broken as My Wedding Stories and High School Years have been, how much longer will it be before the game is just broken from new and old features being bugged out constantly?

We have been in this eight years and still no burglars, police NPCs, cars/car pools/taxis/school buses, hotels, casinos, adult and elder life stage pack, bands, attraction system, fashion models, horses, and fairies.

Well, it's like I said earlier: Milking Phase.
They can't call it The Sims 5 at this point because that might prevent new simmers from investing in the Sims 4.
There is over a thousand dollars worth of content to be sold to new players. Why would they bother investing in that if the next game is right around the corner? I just hope the game isn't in a state of constant brokenness due to the ridiculous amount of packs it will be burdened with in the next two to three years. By that time, the game could be so broken that you might have to decide between eliminating packs or moving on to The Sims 5.

Wonderfully said I feel like I'm the only one not that hyped by the TS5 announcement. It looks like they're using the same engine from TS4 but with better lighting. I was really hopinh they would go above and beyond with the artstyle for the new game. More like a mix between TS3/4.

They announced 2 EP in 2023, they could be the last ones.

Same as when they announced the TS3 line-up for 2013.

I doubt it. If Rene is 3 years away they've got to have EPs until TS4 ends.

I kind of wish that they had waited to announce The Sims 5 a bit closer to its release, but only because it looks so amazing that I don't want to wait! Lol. I'm excited about the babies overhaul & the expansion packs, though!

    I wouldn't call that a Sims 5 Announcement.
It's more like a don't expect Sims 5 anytime soon, announcement. They aren't even calling it Sims 5.
Especially for new simmers going after the free base game, because there is still plenty time to buy up all those TS4 packs and kits.

Rene is The Sims 5 with a different name and I don't think that name is permanent.

Have to say that I never expected them to update babies for the Sims 4. I'd given up on the possibility of this happening long ago. So to know that this is finally a reality—truly puts a big smile on my face. They are finally freeing the little nooboo.

Looking forward to actually having a proper nursery in game that my baby and toddler can share.

I wasn't much into the stream hype but from what I've gathered I had an impression they'll reveal winter roadmap there as well. So, can anyone please enlighten me, does this mean that besides 2 leaked kits there will be no more packs content this year? Or winter roadmap will simply be revealed later?

P.S. As a family player I'm super exited for everything to come to Sims4 next year especially babies!

I think the crawling baby looks adorable. I can't wait for this update.

If this is a replacement for the babies stuck to cribs, then we finally got free babies. If it is a new lifestage in between babies and toddlers, then the principle of babies being locked to their cribs will still remain in the game and babies aren't really freed. But it would still be a huge improvement. I am really excited for this. :)

    I know that.
My point is they probably don't want to go around saying "The Sims 5" when they currently want new players for The Sims 4.

It doesn’t really bother me, if they need to age up from newborn to baby. It might be easier to transition that way. Real newborns become moving giggling active babies pretty quickly and newborns don’t do too much more than drink and sleep. I was excited to see the baby crawling and tumbling over at the end of that stream. I hope we get a lot of stuff for babies, I hope we get a changing table for them too. I kind of thought when nifty knitting had baby outfits that we would get some tyoe of updated babies someday…… and the look at that baby thrilled me! I’m thinking we will get free’d babies before a generations pack, and that the other expansion will have to do with cars.

Same here. It will definitely be an improvement if babies can finally be carried around.

I hope the game is playable by then... I had given up on babies so I am truly surprised at this addition.

I hope they have different hair and clothing options and a blanket for their crib.

I spy a playpen and a ring stack in the pics, as well as the baby carrier and child bike riding. And is that a child holding hands with their parent, or just an unfortunate angle? (Left world pic)

I wonder if that blue thingy-ma-bob behind her is some kind of play pen or whatever. There seem to be a lot of new objects on that picture.
