Has Anyone Experienced A Change In the Starlight Accolades?

I'm asking this, since prior to the patch my Teen Global Superstar, Rock Star, was on a winning streak earning Best Song. Now, he can hardly get anything nominated, let alone win. This is greatly disturbing to me. I wasted years since GF came out just on trying to get my celebrity Sim the recognition he deserves. For a time, things were going great, after following tips from other players.

Then I decided to use his younger self to experience HSY, and made a Flashback save for this purpose. He rises to fame just fine. In fact as of yesterday's gameplay, he's a full-fledged Global Superstar. I've had him writing songs all day and into the nights, since the Fall school session is drawing nigh. He can't keep licensing the same songs over and over at 200 Simoleons a pop, just to be ignored. He finally did get a nomination, and he went to the Starlight Accolade Show, but unlike the previous save, which got totally messed up by myself, he didn't win. And when he attempted to license other songs he got fleeced. Not one was nominated. The mods haven't changed so I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

Is it the Patch or the EP? Or neither?

I can't do a thing about the Patch, I'm sorry to say, but some have uninstalled HSY. I may just follow suit, if this doesn't change.

I've had GF since it came out, the acting career has always been a favorite of mine. My sims has been nominated many times for an award but have never won.

That was me for a good couple of years after GF came out. I have since learned that only songs (not lyrics) will receive nominations. Like I stated, once I learned this bit of news, plus managed to install a small mod that removes the cool-down in between licensing, I restarted my celebrity. He was a Teen still living in his parents' home with this four siblings. I used to use the mod that allows for a three week season (which I prefer) but I started having problems with the Starlight Accolade Show even going on. NO HOST.

After consulting others on this forum, I reluctantly removed the offending mod and the Show has gone on normally and mostly without a hitch. My new save at that time was going well. My Teen rose to the status of Global Superstar, in just ten Sims days. I was ecstatic when he got his first nomination for a song he wrote. This was what a I wanted, what I yearned for. He went to the very next Show and won. That save is merely on hold until I get him through HSY, since he's my favorite Sim of all time and I couldn't imagine taking anyone else through high school with the new pack. I also recreated his wedding when MWS came out. To date, this Erik has won 20 Starlight Accolades in a row. He's currently nominated for his 21st.

Trying to have him win the four he received as a Teen, however, isn't going so well. Before I messed up the one save, he had earned three of them. I restarted and now he's not getting nominated. I did a game repair just yesterday and ran out of time before I could fully get the save setup. If things repeat what was going on in the previous one, I give up. The only thing I can do is try to keep Origin on my laptop from patching my game and uninstall HSYs before I try again on that computer. Unless, someone has a work-around.

I also play with accolades alot , i do have HSY , havent noticed anything weird. . but sure, I can keep an eye on my composer sim, does she win as often as before.

Unistalling the pack? Why? You think HSY is preventing your sim getting nominated? But you said that previous teen save (with HSY )he got 3 awards?
I know some people are uninstalling the pack because of, so called groundhog day bug. But as we know that is not related to this anyway.

If you do uninstall , tell how it went? did nominations were back on their previous level?

Maybe a factory reset could help with this issue?

Thank you for reminding me of that fact. I'm just so very frustrated at the moment. Again, I'm growing very worried of even touching my Main Save. You're quite correct. I just can't understand why it's not working on the new save.

Makes me want to enable the Fame system just to test it out. My sim Juliette is an accomplished pianist so I might start her on the road to fame.

@GalacticGal are you using any fame mods that might be causing a problem?

Same one I've been using all along. And like I was reminded, I had a save wherein he had won three accolades and was nominated for his fourth. When I realized I'd messed up his celebrity stars (the ones that allow for perks) I started him all over. That's when my troubles began. Today, I did a game folder Refresh, or game reset as someone called it, and began anew. Just ran into a very curious situation. Erik came back from a photoshoot, leveled up and before I could send him back inside out of the rain, his icon disappeared. Mind you, I can still see him on the screen, but his icon is gone, so I can't control him.

honestly first time i played the whole accolades thing through was with my Goths this year trying to get Bella the awards she deserves

and maybe before that i did like couple accolades events with Judith Ward and couple with my legacy sim ive since sent to afterlife and didn't really care those times

but none of the played sims would ever win any accolades no matter what I did and it was so frustrating

very rarely even any premade celebrities/ other households that id deem worthy of awards

the game would really just keep spawning randomized celeb sim everytime i go to accolades to receive any awards given

Only after I cheated the randomized sims non famous as soon as they walked in I managed to get Bella one (1) freaking award for all her hard work as global superstar and level 10 actress doing grand performance as many times a week as simly possible

so sick of randomized townies taking over everything i swear like whats the point of being famous when randomized townies are still more famous than you doing absolute nothing and being absolutely no one

Yes , that is different in my game as i dont have those random weirdos, only my own celebs and few premades what avoid deletation.

My Sim just attended the Starlight Accolades event and no one showed up... no host, no guests. This is the first time this has happened in my game. Something's definitely up.

The game always uses my celebrity sims if I send one of them to the Accolades, I've got seven of them in different households so far. Every now and then they get an award without having been nominated in advance.

Do you have mods? I found this happening every time my Sim moved. His first move was to University. Then after he graduated his moved to his own lot, for the first time. Turned out to be a mod I very much enjoyed. The 21 days per season, instead of 28 days. Three week seasons was perfect. But, once I removed that mod, the Starlight Accolades worked again. I wrote about my Sim to share in the WHIYGT thread. I ended up making these moments of disfunction nightmares my Sim was having leading up to the Show. It generally began with an exodus of personnel from the PBP Studios, with Thorne Bailey leading them outside! And no Host showed up.

But, wow. Got to hand it to EA when they break something, they really break it, no?

One time the game made Spock, of Vulcan, the Entertainer. He was at the PBP Studios when my Sim, his brother-in-law got there. While I very much enjoy it when Sims I've created show up on public venues, this was just odd. LOL

@Simmingal Nomination gives your active Sim a 60% chance of winning, or so I've read.

I've played a lot of actresses and only had two or three nominations even though they always get gold for their gigs and reach global superstar status with maxed out acting skill. None have ever won. On the few occasions previously playing novelists I think I had one get a nomination, but she didn't win either. My current novelist has 7 bestsellers and not one nomination. Her fiancé has four gold acting gigs, rising star status and zero nominations. I guess my sims will have to seek consolation from their spouses, fans, and millions of simoleons instead.😁

Not sure what has changed since the last patch update but I used to send my 5 star actor to the awards on Sunday even if he wasn't nominated and oftentimes he would end up winning anyway - if I had waited for his nomination it may not have ever happened but he ended up winning at least 3 of them until I lost interest in going/got busy with other activities on Sunday nights.

I think there is so much competition in the Acting field, as already set up by EA in Get Famous. It lessens the chances, I would imagine. But, the only competition in the Music Industry appears to possibly be Thorne Bailey. And he's an Entertainer, as far as I know. I don't play premades to ascertain if he writes songs, as well. Thing is, Erik was on such a streak. And with that first flashback reset save he was holding his own. I have some hope things will change. I did a game repair and then a game folder refresh or as others call it a game reset. He just got a nomination, too. It's just a matter of getting to Sunday in my game. It's Thursday and I sent him down to the studios to churn out his first albums. So far, he's written eight songs, so he is where I left off in the save that I killed by accident. Sometimes, I'm just a dope.

I hear you. One time my Sim didn't have a pending nomination, but he went down to the Show anyway, since his fiancée begged him not to be that kind of celebrity. He needed to go to support his friends. And, lo and behold, he won. No category whatsoever was given, so I decided when I wrote it up that it was for Best New Artist. Seemed to fit.
