Would You Rather!

I'm quite happy being a female. I reckon if I had been any other gender I would still have had the same interests growing up, but think I would have been bullied more for having them if I had been a boy.

Would you rather meet an alien or merfolk?
  • CororonCororon Posts: 4,274 Member
An alien, if it's a nice one, like ALF.

Would you rather have food you are used to, or try something new and exotic for dinner at a fine restaurant?

Pizza, if I could choose the portion size and the toppings so I could at least add some healthy things to it. Tomato soup all the time would have a much more negative effect on my digestive system.

Would you rather go on an expedition to an active volcano or Antarctica?
  • ignominiusrexignominiusrex Posts: 2,680 Member
Antarctica. Would rather freeze than burn.

Would you rather have to dress like, and present as the wrong gender for you, but with tour body as it is, or would you rather get to dress, act, and present yourself to the world as your correct gender, but have your body have the wrong sex characteristics, underneath the clothing?

The first option. I'm cis female and identify as female but tend to dress in a more androgynous/unisex fashion and several times have worn male clothes and shoes (mainly because that was just my preferred style but also because a lot of feminine styles are so uncomfortable. And sometimes there is a better range of colours in the men's and unisex departments), so having to wear clothes that aren't typically feminine wouldn't bother me as much as the second option.

In fact it would bother me more if I was made to dress more like a stereotypical female than as a different gender because I don't like wearing makeup, really don't like wearing skimpy things that emphasise everything, would end up not being able to walk properly from having my wide feet crammed into stilettos and be in constant discomfort from all the ill-fitting clothes made from materials that either make you sweat, chafe or both!

Would you rather have a go at performing in a live stage musical or have a go at competing in the Olympics, if offered?

Gardener has more ways to do something good for the world like breed better more adaptable food, but Chessmaster would get more glory.

Gardener. Doing good trumps being admired.

Would you rather be super attractive but unable to form any lasting relationships, or super ugly but have a stable longterm relationship with someone just as ugly as you?

Definitely super ugly but with a loving long term relationship. Would pick ugliness on the outside than on the inside any day. I couldn't care less what someone looks like, it's their personality that's important.

Would you rather have just one or two really close friends whom you could trust with anything or a larger group of friends but you only ever socialise as a group and never have any one to one discussions?
  • ignominiusrexignominiusrex Posts: 2,680 Member
Definitely the one or two close friends!

Would you rather have a lot of books, or an e-reader with all of them as e-books instead?

E-books, if I could read books. I have ADHD so reading blocks of text takes hours. The eyestrain of physical books makes that even more of a no-go.

Would you rather have no sense of smell or no sense of taste? (I have no sense of smell myself lol)
  • ignominiusrexignominiusrex Posts: 2,680 Member
You'll have to weigh in on this from your personal experience, but from what I have read, having no sense of smell means having very little sense of taste because the two are so tightly interdependent it's like trying to curl your pinky finger under without curling your ring finger.

But I think I'd choose no sense of taste, because through smell I could taste so much anyway.

Would you rather have a lifetime supply of toothpaste, or of floss?

lifetime supply of toothpaste sounds amazing to me :)

Would you rather always wear a coat or never wear shoes?
  • ignominiusrexignominiusrex Posts: 2,680 Member
Oof, that sounds like which circle of hades do I want to inhabit for eternity?

I live where you need a coat but it still gets hot enough in summer that I'd die if I couldn't take it off.

But my feet would get frostbite in winter with no shoes ever, and it would simply hurt to walk, the rest of the time.

Death by heat, or death by cold, is the question. I can't decide, as both are a lot of suffering.

Would you rather lose your hearing, or your eyesight?

Hearing. Eyesight would make everything I love impossible to do... Hearing would just take music out :( sad but I tend to be annoyed and distracted when there's too much noise so at least that's a win LOL

~ Would you rather be hunted by vampires all your life or be abducted by aliens and never see the Earth again? (okay that's kind of in-topic as far as the Sims are concerned lol)

Hunted by vampires. There are multiple ways to deal with them unlike aliens.

Would you rather time travel to the past or time travel to the future?

If someone can tell me with truthfulness and certainty what the future is like, and it's wonderful, I'd do that.

But if I have no way of knowing whether I would wind up in a horrifying dystopia instead, that would be a hard call, especially if I could choose when and where, in the past, because maybe the recent past in which whatever medical treatment I may need is available, but yet I could still use knowing outcomes of sporting events to make myself wealthy. Though knowing of events that actually happened that no one would believe a couple of decades ago would be hard in the way of being able to avert a disaster if only people would believe me, but of course no one would. That would be hard indeed to bear.

    Great question!

Would you rather find out you had some half siblings you never knew about before because your father ran around on your mom, through genetic tests, or would you rather find out your father wasn't actually the one who fathered you biologically?

I would rather realize that my dad isn't my biological dad. If he raised me, then he's still my dad. And at least I wouldn't lose respect for him unlike the first case scenario.

Would you rather make a hobby you're passionate about into your job and have it lose its "magic" over time, or doing a job you hate every single day but have a blast practicing your hobby only on your free time?

Make a hobby into a job and have it lose its magic over time, as at least then I'd have the option of changing job or hobby if I got fed up with it.
Being stuck in a job I hated and not being allowed to leave it for the rest of my life would drive me to depression and insanity even with a fun hobby as a break.

Would you rather look after eighteen baby humans for the rest of your life or eighteen baby elephants?
  • ChuChuExpressChuChuExpress Posts: 3,228 Member
18 Baby elephants. 18 baby humans would be a lot of stress, trying to keep them from harm and stuff.

Sorry, had to use a website to get this one.
Would you rather have unlimited battery life on all of your devices or have free WiFi wherever you go?

Unlimited battery life on all chargeable devices. Would save on the electric bill.

Would you rather have the ability to turn any living or inanimate object into chocolate just by touch (King Midas style) or have the ability to turn your whole body into a gas every time you fart or belch?
  • ignominiusrexignominiusrex Posts: 2,680 Member
Omg the chocolate Touch so long as I can use it on command and it's not on all the time.

If it were the other, I would seldom be solid these days!

Would you rather be a man, or a woman, if you could simply turn into either one at will?
