This Deco townhouse I started this afternoon I was inspired by a picture I have added in the spoiler, I would like to know what you think od it so far I have put stairs inside. The very rooftop level could be a private garden if I add a ladder inside I am not sure yet.
Your Art Deco style townhouse WIP is lovely! @luckyheather The design is very nice! You have reflected the inspiration picture well. The balcony is very nice
Thanks very much @rosemow for saying the townhouse looks lovely and that it does reflect the inspiration image I did want the awning to go on the ground and put a car under it but it would not go there because of the base so I had to change my idea Thanks again for your sweet comments.
I was not happy with the top level so I made it another room and decorated back and front to look more Art Deco. I added grass for a softer look rather than black concrete so I will add some trees etc. I also made the bump outs go all the way up, so I hope it looks better. As it is a fair sized house now I though Solar panels would be a good idea.
The two homes that you are working on are lovely! @Jade47 Very nice exterior design of them, and the roof tower and wraparound porch of the left hand side one is lovely
@rosemow Thank you. The right hand one is based on an actual Sears home. I had to squash it down by 25% and make some minor design changes because originally it just looked wrong. The Queen Anne style one was an experiment with the curved rooms. Really appreciate your comments.
Small update. I had to rework my Queen Anne style house. The curved rooms caused all sorts of issues, mainly gaps in the deck and porch roof, plus some weird shadow glitches. I think it still looks quite similar to the original and in some ways I feel its an improvement.
I've also been building more British houses common to those in my own village. This pic shows a WIP of a Chalet Bungalow on the left (this is what my own actual house is) and a Semi-Detached on the right. The Semi is a house divided between two households. Given the limited space in each half of the house I'm tempted to just make it a single home instead.
The updated version of your Queen Victoria home is lovely! @Jade47 The wips of a Chalet Bungalow and a Semi_Detackes look great! Very nice brick wall texture and the flowers and plants are pretty
Thank you @rosemow I had fun using the new walls and the central pieces curve inwards I wasnt sure it would work but it did so im pleased The difficult thing was curtains so I landed up having to use the Vintage Glamour ones in the end. Thanks again
I have started to do a makeover of Totter Park in Coppersdale and I am turning it more Boho and using the new little campers kit do add to the pretty boho chairs etc from the school pack. I used the Werewolves pack as I love the roof and wooden fence. I decided that rabbits would be so cute hopping around and some birds too as I will add harvest plants.
This is it so far it has a kids little treehouse with telescope, outdoor movie screen and undercover seating area that I got the inspiration from the Sims 3 site, I remembered the set I have from TS3
I removed some trees as the harsh shadows block what is in the park so I will add more bushes and flowers and if I have space a small pond.
Your makeover of Totter Park is looking great! @luckyheather Very nice design and layout! The Boho style is lovely! The undercover seating area to refelect the pergola from Sims 3 is very nice! Very nice outdoors movies and sitting area. The kids treehouse with telescope is sweet for them to play in! Very nice outdoors dining and bbq area. Sims will enjoy sitting around the firepit and have playing the llama tabletop game. The colourful colours of the furnishings are very nice
Hi @rosemow I am so pleased you like what I have included in the park and that you think the Boho style looks lovely I love doing parks for our sim families to enjoy and that park was screaming at me to change it right away I thought of that cute childrens movie screen and the boho items from the new School pack. I am pleased too you think I reflected the Sims 3 pergola, I will add some Cottage living climbing plants to it today, I am happy you like it so far, thank you rosemow.
I like your houses @Jade47 I am a Brit too and I am in a one bedroom flat and opposite are small Chalet style houses with a side garage, I did not know what the style was called (dont laugh) and now I do thanks Love your home and the Queen Anne one is beautiful, not a style I have dont often I tend to do steampunk instead I love any older style home and I try all sorts so I dont get bored, I have built since Sims 1 and still enjoy myself. How long have you played/built? a long time I bet by the looks of your builds
@luckyheather your Art Deco lounge really looks the part, black and gold is a great combo. As for the Chalet bungalow comment I won't laugh because I had to look it up too and I live in one. Sadly the windows are a poor match, but I did find some CC which looks more appropriate. I love Queen Anne style and also Second Empire houses, I think because I've seen them in so many movies, Stephen King houses basically. Actually I bought Sims 4 in the Steam sale this year, so toward end of June. Don't ask how many hours I've put in or how many have been spent learning to build. For some reason I've been sticking to base game builds too, I think because I got lost in the menus after adding expansions. lol
Hi @Jade47 thanks I enjoyed messing about with the rounded walls, I hope they fix the glitches soon as platforms are acting odd now too, I had to hide 2 gaps at the rear of the build with some hedge Shhh dont tell anyone
Im glad im not the only one who doesnt know names of styles, I just build and dont care what its called Lol maybe I should do one of the hoses opposite so I can call it Chalet
By the way I was born in London so sometimes im cheeky and write with humour and miss letters out, my daughter said I write like I speak sometimes Lol I try not to with new friends until they get used to me, im sort of Goth btw nearly all my my clothes and bedding are black, yesterday while doing laundry a neighbour said 'I always know when its your washing in the machine, its black'
well you build like you have been building Years! well done, my 1st sims 4 builds were terrible until I got used to TS4 way of doing things, I was used to 3 where you could recolour nearly everything, I loved that! Anyway have a great day
