@Mak27 what do you think of wringer washers in the games for players that wents to create an amish style family its also an off the grid style washer since its not automatic since it requires to be filled manualy and the sims have to turn on agitation and manualy start the pump to drain the wash water?

I like off the grid stuff. I wish there was a way to keep the wet clothes from being in the rain, tho.

You can put them on a porch and disguise the clothes stand with columns.

We already have a laundry pack? I feel lost here. There’s a swatch on the machines for coin operation-though it’s not functional in terms of costing simoleans, and we have the washtub for off the grid. Why would they “add” something we already have?

It's already available, although I suspect they can do more. I've seen an old fashioned washer that y wash stuff with by scrubbing... but instead of by hand, it's with a lever. Off the grid and not as back-breaking.

the point of this idea thread is to add more content to the laundry theme i like laundry day stuff pack but not much choice in term of washers and dryers if you compare to the sims3 that had diffrent model choices

Exactly. Can we also add more makeshift stuff, as well? I doubt an eco Sim would like the current washer and dryer, plus they consume more electricity than Vlad consumes blood.

But...we have the washtub as an eco option. I still don't understand why anyone thinks they would spend time and money to make a pack they already made. It doesn't make sense.

My idea was more so you can craft it with eco parts, but anyways. We used to have three different washers and dryers in 3. We could add different soaps to enhance how clean the stuff is, or even add a laundromat. There are things they could've done but didn't .

I had a thread a long time ago about laundry options. Some of the image links are now broken, but this is the thread. Can't reply to it w/o breaking necroposting rules though: https://forums.thesims.com/en_us/discussion/226129/more-laundry-washer-dryer-options

I'd like to see those all-in-one machines where the dryer is connected to the washing machine (not just stacked). Top load washer, front-load dryer combo.
    frigidaire-washerdryer-combo-fleb8200ds-21114431.jpg
They also make them both front-load
    frigidaire-glgh1642fs-washerdryer-combo-21108942.jpg

A funny idea is a washing machine on top of the toilet. The water from it is used to flush the toilet.
    greener_gadgets_02.jpg

My biggest request is laundry machine pedestals. This is a stock image of my IRL set.
    tumblr_moj6a3fwNo1qhfuqwo1_500.jpg

    Hampers like this:
    tumblr_moj9lsMgQl1qhfuqwo1_500.jpg

    Hanging racks:
    tumblr_moj9avbAsY1qhfuqwo1_500.jpg
    tumblr_moj9gjwWd21qhfuqwo1_400.jpg

Ironing boards that fold down from the wall would be cool. I really wish the original laundry pack had included more stuff. We need more hampers, methods of drying, styles of washers, etc.

A laundromat would be nice. Or a communal laundry room in an apartment complex.

In the past other people suggested manual wringers for clothes. That would be neat.

Glad you found the ringer pic. I remember someone in my thread mentioning getting her arm stuck in a wringer. I could see that happening to sims. An electric wringer for an older setting or a hand-crank one for off-grid would be nice.
Some regular laundry baskets would also be good.
I had to find a sketchup model for the style we have (although they are starting to break after 30+ years)
    c24c9bab-e0f3-4041-b9b5-7e80eed0462e

    These kinds are also good

Obviously they come in a variety of colors but I just grabbed the first images I could find.

While wicker ones look cool, they are terrible for clothes bc they snag everything. As a kid I had a wicker laundry basket with a panther head (woven out of wicker).

A washing machine box (for water supply and drain) that could cut into the wall would be neat.

I would like more washer and dryer options. Even have one that's portable. Ironing or Steaming the wrinkles away would be good. I would also like fragrances dryer sheets to put in the dryer to smell even more.

Well, yellow baskets would be easy to see. LOL.
I wish I could find baskets with lids in my area. I'm constantly having to dump my cats out of the baskets.
Portable machines would be nice. I know they have smaller electric washers as well. Dryer vents and such for the exterior of houses would also be cool.

A folding table (one that literally folds down or up from the wall) for folding clothes would be nice. I guess one might call it a murphy table.

The little fabric softener container balls for washers and the wool balls for dryers would be nice as well.

I would like an option for sims to be able to wash their clothes in the sink or bathtub, or even the shower.
  • SuceressSuceress Posts: 1,679 Member
@crocobaura I like that idea. For the longest time I had to wash my laundry in the sink because there was a problem with water supply for the washing machine. And sometimes its small items that don't warrant going in the machine. Or that are hand-wash only.

@Suceress what do you think of sims acutualy loading the washer when picking up clothes from the hamper and sorting it like for exemple light colors white and dark colors and then starting the washer on what isi being wash youtube videos as exemple https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDGtj1nf4EY video exemple of actualy loading a washer not just putting a bag of dirty clothes then when load done sims have 3 options dry in the dryer line dry outside if sunny on a clothe line like this v3cQeiK.jpg if raining if player owns season pull out the clothes rack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0dbIByT-X4

@friendlysimmers, I think that if people wanted to add laundry sorting to their sims tasks they should be able to, but it shouldn't be mandatory. Maybe there can be an option to toggle more detailed laundry on and off. I realize that they did the bag thing to save time. I personally use colorguard detergent and throw all my stuff in together. But then, I don't have much in the way of bright clothes. I put smaller items like socks and masks in a bag to keep them from getting lost. I believe Sims can already use laundry lines in Sims4. If you mean that specific type of line, then I'm for it. I like that one. I also think poles sticking out from the sides of buildings on balconies would be good for drying. I know in some places they have poles and laundry lines extending out and people hang their clothes over. Some even have laundry lines extending to the adjacent buildings or balconies.

    Clothes rack- yes!

The ability to mend clothes might be good as well. It's not exactly the werewolf's fault it keeps ripping the clothes... Maybe add more outfits we can actually make with sewing as well?

please no more packs for house chores :'(

but more sewing that leads to CAS unlockables would be cute, that'd be nice to add to an elder's pack
