Build/Buy Items you miss

Whichever Sims Game you play mostly right now, many of us have had previous renditions of the Sims. I'm playing Sims 4 right now, but have played all of them for many years.
What are some build/buy items you really miss in Sims 4 (or whatever version you're playing) from previous games? I really miss this loveseat. I wish Sims 4 would bring it back. There are some that are similar, but this one is still one of my favorites.

I have a bunch of things I miss. This is not in order except for the first two
    • The Carousel from the Sims 3 Store and all the build pieces for the rollercoaster I think its great that we are getting a ferris wheel but it shouldn't have meant that the rollercoaster and carousel should have been left out.
      Thumbnail_200x200.png
      Thumbnail_688x336_ADD1.jpg
    • The Broken and boarded up windows from Sims 3 Store
      Thumbnail_200x200.png
      Thumbnail_200x200.png
    • Screens from Sims 3 Store
      Thumbnail_200x200.png
      Thumbnail_200x200.png
      Even the ripped ones
      Thumbnail_200x200.png
    • Spiral staircases

      • If Seasons is installed than the climate is hot and dry during the day and at night much cooler
      • If Get to Work is Installed than there is a space for a High-end Clothing Store and new very expensive clothing that must be purchased there. Maybe Jewelry making, Jewelry stores and High end Jewelry could be introduced as a way to spend the winnings.
      • There should be serious consequences for gambling too much
      • Sims can purchase Pool cues that vary in expense
      • Restaurant and a buffet restaurant - If you own the Dine Out game pack
      • Magnificent Full Service Hotel - Front Desk, Concierge & Bellhop, Maid Service NPC, Room Service, Grounds Keeper, Locking Hotel Doors, and own-able, over the top decor
      • Minibar fridges in hotel rooms but charges if you take eat anything from it.
      • Gold toilets
      • If Cats & Dogs is purchase then Concierge will walk the dogs for the high rollers. There can also be a Dog Groomer as a new venue with baths, brushing, doggie cologne AND pedicures for dogs will now be a CAS Cats & Dogs Update.
      • Roof has a helipad and Helicopter to take Sims on Helicopter excursions for money.
      • Bring back the simulated Skydiving machine from Sims 1
      • Reservations and Booking
      • Bring back Stages/Auditoriums, Performers like the Bands, Acrobats and Magicians

      • Reintroduce NPC Bouncers
      • Gangster Museum
    • The Old Timey Posters & Sandwich Boards from Sims 3 Store and Magic Magic

      hqdefault.jpg
    • The Butterchurn & The Spindle from Making Magic - I would really love to have the butterchurn back so that I can make my own butter as well as adding ingredients to it as compound butter. As for the spindle it spun golden thread because it was magical. I'd like it to do that again but also use the wool we harvest for the yard we knit with AND sewing materials wit the sewing machine.
      latest?cb=20120723005012
      latest?cb=20120723010721
    • The Glass and wrought Iron Awning _ I'd love to have the awning tool back too.
      ALren1.png
    • The Sewing Machine & The Pottery Wheel - These were two of the best items with Free-time in Sims 2. I'd love to have them back. You could have the pottery wheel in an art studio room with a decorative or useable kiln. The sewing machine could be in two versions modern and Victorian. They could have the clothing designer career as well. Voila new active career.
      670px-Hobby_Arts_and_Crafts.jpg
      004.jpg
    • The Exercise Bike from Sims 2 - The Sims 2 also had the chin up bar and the jump rope and I miss all three. But I'd like to have the exercise bike back because they could do like the yoga class and have a spinning class.
      00246840.jpg
    • The Glass roof for the Sims 3 Greenhouse/Conservatories. I wish we had options - I would honestly like to have the roofs bak because not only were they superior style-wise for sun rooms but you could make a gorgeous community lot Conservatory for parks.

      Thumbnail_300x300.png

I wont use pictures because for me it's the function I miss more than what they looked like:
    • School bus/carpool/taxis to go somewhere
    • Cars
    • Clothing racks
    • Changing boots
    • Photo boots (though this is coming so yay!)
    • Hair dresser chair

    • Pool tables
    • Alarm clocks

    • Usable cash registers with gameplay
    • Genie lamp
    • Volleyball (from The Sims)
    • Cars

    One can dream I guess

These are the main things I'm missing from older games

Cars and the junker fixer upper car
    Pool table
    Soccer net from Sims 2
    Volleyball net
    Retail clothing racks
    Working cash registers
    Changing rooms
    Ticket machine
    In-ground hot tub
    Pool slide
    Normal diving board
Landlines would be nice as well if they would completely disable cell phones if you had one on the lot.
Sims 4 went from "You Rule" to "One of the stories we want you to tell"

Everything thats makin' magic basically some were mentioned above but really all of it i miss it all

also I would really welcome any occult items especially if theres any visible gameplay attached because i feel like its just another thing they missed in realm of magic there just isn't really magical items to put in my magic realm like i can pretend the mirrors are magical and i can pretend sims use spellbook stands but they don't and i can pretend there used to be all kinds of magical items but there isn't

and yes amusement park stuff since it goes with makin' magic theme i just want it to not be rabbitholes

also now that i look at this that big bookcase door the one tile one just never really was the vibe

Lots of great ideas above, but my most missed items are probably the nectar making machine, sculpting table, glassblowing, sewing machine and the ballet barre*. The next tier for me would be the toymaking machine, the treehouse, and the trampoline.

    Basically: hobbies, hobbies, hobbies.

There are lots of gorgeous B/B items from TS2 and TS3 (and even TS1), but I have made my peace with the fact that on balance, the art style for TS4 is more childish, clunky, and cartoonish. (Not that there aren't some very lovely individual pieces, but on average, it's not my favorite. Although it would help if they added some more neutral, muted swatches to the existing objects.) Activities are another story, though; they definitely should be able to add those. I wish they would just do one hobby pack that adds all or most of them, with the exception of maybe adding nectar-making to a pack with a Mediterranean location, but my fear is that either we won't get them at all, or they will parcel them out one pack at a time to squeeze more money out of us.

*They could actually improve on the ballet barre over TS3, and pair it with a mat like the dance floors (and now the cheerleading mat), so that our sims could potentially do at least some simple ballet that would be a bit more elaborate than just practicing with the barre.

The boarded up windows would've been great for Werewolves pack!

Also want jetpacks and comic books.

I miss the sculpture making stand and the glassblowing too. It was pretty late when I left off last night. I edited my post earlier for all my atrocious spelling. If I would add further to my above list I'd do
    • Glassblowing Furnace
    • Sculpture Making Stand
    • The Rock Tumbler/Jewel cutting machine from Supernatural so we can have Jewelry making as a new skill and to have jewelry stores
    • The Magazine, Comic Book Stands, and Game Kiosks from Sims 2
    • Binoculars for Birdwatching like in Free Time
    • The oriental rugs from Bon Voyage

you are 100% correct that sims4 furniture is...not optimal. There are some pretty cute pieces, but Sims 2 and 3 just had better swatches and furniture. I struggle making historical homes in Sims 4 because the colors are too bright, but not brilliant. And the patterns...yikes. And there is no diversity in wood finishes. And the shapes and textures are weird, too.

wow! I didn't realize Sims 1 had so many cool things. I hadn't played that in 20 years. Sims 3 really is my favorite sims games. I miss it. I'm focusing on Sims 4 because it is easier on my computer. But gameplay and style of Sims 3 is 100/10. Love it. I have the beautiful baroque set from Sims 3, tbh, I have a lot of stuff from Sims 3 store. I miss how I could make historical legacies in the Sims 3 starting with Tudor, to Georgian, faking it with the Victorian (no good Victorian stuff there) using the Jazz set and then Roaring Heights, then using the 50s and 60s sets, then using the Decades pack (and creating my own outfits) and finally to the modern era. It was so fun. Sims 4 has 0.1 historical CAS and mediocre historical furniture.
I do like all the cultural and LGBTQ stuff for Sims 4, though.

I miss from Sims 3 that I still want in Sims 4:
    Spiral Stairs
    Heartshape Bed
    All-in-one Bathroom
    Dutch Oven
Decor pictures/plaques from Supernatural, World Adventure & Pets
Time Machines from Ambitions & Into The Future
    Cars & Motorcycles
    Toddler Cribs & Baby Strollers
    Bonehilda's Closet Home
    Bathtub for Two

I know right I never understood how they went from Sims 2 with working garages to Sims 3 with teleportation out of the garage to Sims 4 no cars or garages at all. Not even the car pool

    Pool table
    (Swimming) Pool slide
    Casino Slot machines/table
    Carousel
anything and everything bay side from Sims 3(my favorite sets)

Anything related to hotels. I know that's game play but there's a lot of hotel based items that could be used in other ways.
It's kind of sad that I have to point out that anything I say is only just my opinion and may be a different one from someone else.

I agree with the heart shaped bed and spiral stair cases!

I also miss some of the larger statues from previous games. The golden statue of David in boxers is so classic Sims humor to me. :D I just feel like there's a lack of larger artwork in general now.

I miss pool tables more than anything else! The sewing machine, pottery wheel and strollers too. I'll add the toy making machine as well, primarily for the return of kite flying.

We used to have more spooky pictures that changed at night in Sims 3, kinda would like more of that for the haunted house.
