Get a vault and stuff that money in it.
Then create burglar sims and have them rip them off and then skip town. (Delete)
We should probably not focus so much on activities that get them promoted.
Slow down on that and the wealth rate will be slower. Take off early some days and send them out into the world to do something, or meet new sims.
Isn't there a cheat to remove money as well as gain it?
@GalacticGal yes, it's "money xxxxx" where the Xs are the amount you want your sim to have; ie: money 2463 will set their household funds to 2463 simoleons.
Lol. My Sims never get jobs. They're usually casual authors who don't even write once a day. Other times, if I want a challenge so bad, I will get an entrepreneur table and sell stuff. Even then, I can get rich. It's insane.
I do wish there are options to make things more challenging as well. It's quite too easy to level up in careers too. And why is the water bill only like 2 simoleons (sometimes even 0), electricity is like 90 simoleons and the lot bill is 4,000 simoleons lol I think it's a glitch too? I dunno it's crazy.
Also I doubt I can run an entire house off the grid with four little windmills and two dew collectors. If I seriously had a normal house in Sims, on the grid, I can reduce the water bill to zero with one dew collector.
One time, my bill was +1! I got a dollar from bills?
The only thing I dislike is $30,000 is considered rich when you play with clubs. In Get Together they have 3 different economic classes and since I do like to use motherlode and FREEREALESTATE on, it's hard to keep certain sims below the $10,000 bracket. I have Sims who I consider rich but they actually have $500 dollars in the bank. lol
I totally agree, I remember in sims1 and sims 2 it could be difficult to make money and my failed attempts at wooing Mortimer for money lol. I'd like maybe a level system easy, medium, hard, virtually impossible lol♥
All of my sims don't have steady jobs, and i don't have this issue of them raking in the cash so fast. I am guessing it is the jobs with the steady income that make them become rich easily? maybe try other ways for them to earn their living then, like self employment, freelancing and other gig based jobs like acting and such, or have them run a store but do it at a slower pace.
How easy it is to get rich. I mean, seriously I don't even need a job at this rate. I want my Sims to struggle even a little bit.
I'm not really bothered by how easy it is to become rich tbh. If I don't want my sims to become rich overnight I just don't do the things that allow for that. I have some sims that are in my mind supposed to be rich so they paint or grow dragon fruit to get started. My sims that need to struggle for a little while just have a normal job and don't do any of the get rich quick activities. And when I do rags to riches they are not even allowed to sell items directly from their inventory. I like the freedom we have right now to choose what kind of life our sims will have money wise.
I do wish we could throw items in the trash though. I've made a few sims who paint but didn't really want them to get rich from painting. It was more of a hobby that they enjoyed and a way to have different artwork in their house. It would be nice to get rid of the artwork I didn't want on their lot without selling or storing it.
I use mods to make it more difficult.
Currently I'm using Carl's Gameplay Overhaul mod where I have set career progression to be harder so they won't be promoted as easily.
it do not annoys me as a player since i am the type of player that cheats in the game and give the max amount of simoleons to my sims right on the start
If you went the sims5 to remain offline feel free to sign this petition http://chng.it/gtfHPhHK please note that it is also to keep the gallery

No because all the sims' games are the same at giving your sims money, for years when I was playing the sims 1, I didn't know there was a money cheat for a while.
I just use the money cheat to remove money from them and give them a set balance in the sims 4

I'm only on gen 4 in my generations save and they're so rich just because every generation worked. Currently, my sims is a social media influencer, so I'm thinking that there might have to be some drama so her kid isn't a millionaire forever. I guess it just depends on your play style though.
one of my sim scenario is a Hobo (literally), no money, no house, the money that he can obtain is by selling plants that found in neighborhood or fishes from fishing. lmao
Money gain is not really balanced. As freelancer (mainly painter but also writer) you can get rich very quick. When you do actual careers it takes much longer to get rich, maybe even several generations.

This! Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about. You shouldn't be able to get filthy rich by doing so little. I'm not saying real freelance isn't work, but for a Sim it's so easy. And all the careers do is take up game play time as Sims vanish from the screen.

I still dislike the Goths to this day because they wouldn't become my sims friend in sims 1 which I needed for a promotion

Thing is, they're not. I want to be a hobo type in game.
(I half hoped the thread title would be about if we're irked by thread titles which don't say what the thread is about)
