A Llama Or a Cow?

«1
I've played Erik Cantrell so often, but he's mostly only had chickens. This time around when I built his house, I gave him, again, a Chicken Coop, but also made room for the animal shed, which has been in place since they moved in. I didn't anticipate triplets but that's what I got. For once I'm playing it through anyway. It's tough going having the four Toddlers (their older brother was just a Toddler when they came into this world.) Their mother is now expecting another child. Yet, the animal shed remains empty.

Erik has a modest garden of crops. Eventually, I hope they will cook food with fresh ingredients, only.

So, what you you think?

With that many children, he probably could use the milk!

I also vote for the cow, if you want to eventually produce your own fresh ingredients. A llama is good too, for the wool, if your sims like to knit.

I picked other because I couldn't decide. LOL The Llama is so iconic and you can knit with the wool so thats nice.

However I do like cows as they were so much a part of my childhood and the milk is handy. Hence the dilemma. :D

Now you know why I set up a poll. I can't manage to choose, either! LOL

Nah, it's just gotta be the cow. Milk, milk and more milk! You can sell it, drink it, put it into things. Delish!

It will be interesting, to add another farm animal, as at the current time my couple is struggling to just keep pace with their wild children. LOL Oh, heck, it had been so much easier in earlier iterations. I've either lost my 'touch' or these kids are truly different from their predecessors. Oi!

I personally would have left it empty, but you clearly gravitate towards being self-sufficient so I vote for the cow. The milk will definitely help with some recipes 🙂

Why not both a cow and a llama? With that many toddlers, you already have a huge challenge, so you might as well go for broke.

...But if it was me, I'd leave the shed empty because that is a lot of kids to raise at once!

I am quit disappointed on both cows and lamas. I thought they would be like "Patchy" being able to move all over the lot and have more interesting interactions with the Sims

Thank you so much for weighing in on this question. I've had both in the past. Sometimes the Llama spits, and sometimes the cow kicks over that bucket of fresh milk. I suppose if we didn't contain either of them, they could possibly wander all over the lot. Personally, I like to fence their 'yard' to keep the Toddlers from them. LOL I've only ever had one Sim really try to get to know Patchy. Were he to totally get up and walk around, I would freak out.

Right before his wife went into labor for their fifth child, he bought a cow. In fact, he was just attempting to be social with the beast, when she said it was "Go time." LOL

I'm going to see how adding this dimension goes for a bit. If I can keep things afloat, so to speak, I may see about that Llama.

You want me to have Erik suddenly walk on the 'dark side'? I don't think his priest, his parents, his 'many siblings' et al would approve of such a choice. Besides, his Watcher isn't too into the Occult. But, it is an interesting idea all the same …

P.S. These chickens aren't the same ones that attacked him. That was in a different save.

Yeah, definitley a Cow. I love both animals, but I've never had a Sim that cross-stitches, so never needed wool. Milk is so much more useful, especially if he's going to cook food from scratch. Plus, the cow is too darn cute!

I went with the cows since they are useful in a number of ways. That said, if it was my save I'd skip it. I have my hands full with just 3 sims. Adding in animals sounds impossible to keep up with everything. Those of you who can have my respect. I like to think I'm pretty good at multitasking in real life, but not so much in the game.

Can't decide as I need and want both! My sims farm to live a self-sustainable life so they use and need the eggs from chickens, milk from cows, and, as they usually knit and/or count cross stitch, they need the yarn made from shearing the llama! And, of course, they really love all the animals!
