Welcome Wagon?

I've been through the Welcome Wagon so many times, but this time I was definitely surprised by the actions of one of the neighbors. First, she followed Aaron upstairs went he needed to Study the Opposition. I had to use a cheat to get her to leave. So, what does she do as she leaves his bedroom, where he's studying for work? She clicks the TV off as she exits! Face/palm.

Some Sims, you know? It's not as if he's just made the All-Stars or anything. LOL Sheesh.

The last welcome wagon I had actually bought fruit cake that everyone had a happy moodlet from!

Some sims do funny stuff like that. One time Bob and Eliza welcomed one of my sims to the neighbourhood but they left the fruitcake on the sidewalk outside the property, not sure why. My sim brought it in and served it to her guests. Another sim, recently called the repairman to fix her fridge and, upon arrival, the repairman first poured himself and cup of tea and drank it and only afterwards started fixing the fridge.

Ooh somebody who actually knows how to back fruitcake. I love the stuff when baked correctly. It it's dry, it's over=baked. :open_mouth:

@Relneydarstep It's not that I dislike the Welcome Wagon altogether, it's just the timing of when it comes. I've had the pleasure in RL to be welcomed into a neighborhood when we moved a good fifty-sixty miles away from where we had always lived. I was just struck that this time, she had the nerve to snap off Aaron's TV when he was in the middle of his daily task. And, yes, he did just make the All-Stars in professional sports. This from the almost shy guy in Uni who had a hard time dealing with all the attention when he kicked the soccer ball to another player on his team, for the win! He got the MVP award. His next younger brother is my Global Superstar, Rock Star. Aaron is the eldest but seems to be living his Erik's shadow. LOL

My nightmare guests harvest all plants of the lot. It might not be relevant to the welcome wagon as they would probably arrive before any new plants get ready with harvest, but other visitors do this all the time. A super wealthy sim visiting her poor daughter's house shouldn't really snap all those crops from the little family - it was meant to be their only income for the day. Argh... I'd much prefer a fruit cake :)

I find that whoever your Sim speaks to first (probably most applicable to new, single Sims) becomes something of a stalker. They are inevitably the one that is constantly ringing and dropping by. Because this is frequently the Welcome Wagon…

Just caught my own typo when reading this post. Back instead of bake! Face/palm

Last time I had a welcome wagon, it had Summer and Don in it. They are a married couple in my game thanks to MCC shenanigans. Well, they just fought the entire time. I guess Summer had a negative sentiment or something because she was really aggressive towards him. Then eventually Don stormed off into the bathroom to rant in front of the mirror. Awkward.

Nothing like fueling the gossip, though. Yikes. LOL

Really? I've had that fruitcake liked maybe 2 or 3 times since the game came out. When a welcoming sim says 'family heirloom', am convinced the fruitcake is meant, not the recipe.

ROFL. I am aware that as long as the fruitcake is soaking in some of the hardcore juices, it can last upward to twenty-five years, but my goodness, I can't imagine keeping it that long, nor eating it.
