Not a huge fan of how the werewolves look. I'm glad they more closely resemble wolves than in previous games but it's still a little too human for my taste. They look like Beastars characters on steroids.
That aside, I'm actually really feeling this pack so far. The gameplay sounds fun, the world looks amazing, and I'm a sucker for some good grunge/punk rock aesthetics. Consider me sold.
5 lots is really disappointing. I would have need 7-8 to be satisfied. 3 for community lots, 2 for rival pack, 1 for my pack and 1 for myself. But I do like the idea of a one neighborhood world for this pack.
I don’t mind the look of werewolves. But I’m also not the target audience. I do always enjoy doing at least one play through with the occults. Hope there is a new death.
I’m getting this packs for the CAS/BB. Love the grunge style. The bassinet and toddler bed are so cute. But they really had me at a regular sized telescope.
Did they confirm only 5 lots? If so I'll reserve judgment until I'm staring at it on my monitor. I already had Henford planned as my fall back if the new world didn't work out.

It's the exact same size as Vampires. Of course it wouldn't be bigger.

They gave us a ton of lots in MWS and we all know how that turned out from a gameplay and depth perspective.

Im curious though, typical werewolf lore states that werewolves do not have a choice in their transformation. Will the same be said for our sims or will there be presumably be some ability that allows werewolf sims to control their transformation at will?
Typical werewolf lore is tricky... if you go way way way back to the original sources they could absolutely transform at will (that's how they could meet the devil in secret) - and their transformation wasn't tied to the moon either... that's why more people were burned/hanged for lycanthropy than even witchcraft.
But if you go forward in time, or look at pop culture, then it gets trickier - sometimes it's tied only to the full moon and they can't control it, or sometimes they can change at will but the only time they can't control the change is during the full moon. So it depends on how far back you're going, but there's lots of lore that contradicts itself in regards to how werewolves change.
There. Now pre-ordered.
I love so much about this pack, but at the same time I can't see myself starting a new save for it. Also as I said, if I am going to use the world at any point I would have to inactivate Seasons; I can't imagine the winters in (Wherever that would be IRL geographically? Washington? Canada? The Rockies?) being fun for me. There is a reason all my Sims live most of their lives in worlds without snowfall.
Point is I'll have to come up with some reason why my Sim is a werewolf.

IRL lore varies WILDLY about werewolves.
Instead of a 5 page paper on it I present to you Red's take on it from Overly Sarcastic Productions (EVERYONE should subscribe to them, btw) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mm0KyaovhY
Oooooooh... I really hope this is a throwback to The Sims 2. If I recall correctly, in TS2 using the telescope increased your chances of the lot being hit by a meteor, which could be fatal. (I lost one of my favorite sims this way.) However, you could also sell the meteor for $$$$$$. It would also be interesting if this time around, you could get new collectables from the meteor as an alternative to selling it. (I mean, I'd like both options.)
Also, back in the original story it was a werewolf that Little Red Riding Hood saw, not a regular wolf, which is part of the reason she didn't realize that it was a bad idea to tell where she was going - it was likely she knew/recognized from her village. He only changed later... the rest of the story varies pretty wildly from the source material as well. It wasn't until Charles Perrault (and later the Grimm brothers) that it became a wolf and the story became a lot more sanitized.

Hm...fuzzy howling alien babies. Or green baby wolves?
