Sims Freeplay - worth it?

Discovered yesterday that there is a PC version of the game out there.
Is the game worth the hoops one must jump through?
Is the process as easy as the competing providers claim it is?
If so, which is the best route to follow?
The game appears to be a different format/play style. Is it actually enjoyable or more hassle than it's worth?

Am asking you veterans out there before I make a mess of things.

I used to be really into Sims FreePlay and even moderated a large FreePlay help group. It’s definitely not a regular sims game, but was an enjoyable mobile alternative. Then, the game changed and it became more about grinding to complete goals so you could earn the points to get the good stuff. It always had that format, but the time limitations used to be more relaxed and conducive to casual play. The changes made it impossible to complete tasks unless you were just glued to the game. Since I had a life, that just didn’t work for me. Of course, if I didn’t mind ponying up cash for the micro transactions, I could still get stuff (which was the point of tightening up the time limits) but I decided it was better to spend that money on my real sims instead. I haven’t checked into it for awhile, so I don’t know if it’s changed. They do keep updating it, though.

Thank you for your prompt reply! It's one of those looks interesting but want to be cautious things. The info found mentioned the goals completion, but nothing about how long the time was. I know that EA is a business, and the goal of business is profit, but they seem unduly obsessed with it.

I played it a few times and it left me exhausted. Not only the time to complete tasks is short, but very often when the task was well underway and sometimes even almost done the game would reset and cancel all the progress you made on it, so you had to start again an 6 or 8 hour task.

I enjoyed it when I played it and still have it on my iPad, but I haven't really played it in more than a year or two. The time limited challenges were frustrating because I was never able to complete them since I was working a lot and it felt unfair to have some objects as limited or special reward objects unlocked through time limited quests. I'm used to the main Sims game where everyone gets access to the same new stuff. I'm not sure if that has changed though. And I generally spent too much on that online store too. I did really enjoy it though so I think it is worth checking out for sure.

Can you transfer your mobile account to the PC version though? I didn't know there was a PC version.

@Oldeseadogge I've been Playing The Sims Freeplay on iPad since it was released in 2011. I wasn't aware there was a PC version available. Do you have a link?

I have heard players have been able to use a program called BlueStacks to play FreePlay on PC. But it's supposed to be for tablets and phones only.

I have never used BlueStacks to play FreePlay, but I have used Nox Player (which is similar to BlueStacks) to play several different android games on my PC so I could play with a friend who lived in another state.

So it probably would work for Freeplay too.

BlueStacks and Nox Player are emulators, which essentially tricks your PC into acting and displaying programs as if you were on a phone or tablet only you use your keyboard and mouse.

I use Blue Stacks for other android games. It's handy b/c I am unable to use the tablet b/c of problems w/my hands from when I worked. Otherwise, I have to wear a wrist brace which is pretty uncomfortable. I tried Free Play, but just couldn't get into it.

Did another general search of 'The Sims Freeplay for PC' and got the following (among many others)
    https://www.emulatorpc.com'the-sims-freeplay
    https://www.bluestacks.com
    https;//download.cnet.com
    https://mumuglobal.com

It appears that there is no PC version as such but rather intermediate software that enables a PC to run the original version, as several of you have posted.

The big question of whether the game is good enough to override the annoyance of the timer remains. Probably an individual choice.
