I like the feature, but I turned mine off temporarily, because I think it causes or increases autonomous flirting. I can deal with a bunch of kids and pets, but I can't deal with Bob and Eliza Pancakes going around every world and wrecking homes with their constant flirting. Did they program this couple to do that?? I had to turn it off temporarily to sort out the chaos in the Pancake household. Eventually, I will turn it back on again. I think it needs a bit of tinkering to make it work better and I hope they will fix it so that married Sims should not flirt or be flirted with autonomously. I'm really happy with the kids and pets I got added through the feature, the frequency rate seems to have slowed down a lot in my game, because I play rotationally I would like to switch households when something new is happening and play with the story change a bit.
Are you sure you didn't have the Free Love NAP somehow voted in for that neighborhood? I keep thinking things in my game are suddenly happening way too much, and then realizing it's an NAP I didn't know was active. It happened with flirting, playing music, and pushups.... all being caused by NAPs.
@GirafHuntr I don't think so, but I will double check in the neighborhoods where it has happened. Thanks for the tip!
@Brd709, yep, if you do it the ghost should appear. Note that they don't always appear right at the lot. The last time I used it the ghost appeared in the neighborhood quite a ways away from the lot I had active, at the spot where neighborhood walkbys would spawn.
I did a rotational game and played my main sim’s cousin and got him into a relationship with a townie and proposed. I didn’t marry them just proposed. I went back to my main sim and the next day I see a notification saying his cousin and fiancée were expecting (i didn’t even move them in together). They never even woohooed yet. Is that the neighborhood story progression doing that?
@Stormkeep I actually think the 90 sim days had passed for Vivaan’s ghost. I went back to my 1985 save and he was even gone by the end of 1985. I’ve just started the second week Summer in 1986.
At first it seemed to be a nice pace for me. But lately its the same person calling over and over. Example: should I have a baby? I said yes the first 12 times they asked.
Judy Ward adopted a child in my game. I had plans for the child with my story line, however one sim week later she died from a cow plant because of story progression. Now her house is empty and the child is gone. Oh well that’s story progression for you
This is not supposed to happen and never has before but the game split my Pleasant sisters and Lilith was homeless until I moved her back in.
This is what I mean. My Nancy Landgrab died suddenly with no notification, either. I had to turn the entire feature off for each game save. Because even when I tried to limit the options, it just didn't work. I know EA had good intentions. But as I said in my original post, they really need to play test their new features before implementing them.

Two of my Sims not only gets constant phone calls by same Sim, but they constantly show up at their door more than ever now since this update.

That has to be. Because I've never heard of that happening unless you chose the option of them doing woohoo trying for a child action, lol.

The only ones I have active is the career ones, moving out and death for non played.
Only active for played is career related.
But still, one of my sims in the played household section is now married with three kids and one dog, another played sim has adopted a kid. One couple has a house filled with dogs. It’s kind of crazy to see and I think it’s mccc settings conflicting somehow, cause there’s no stories to these events.
On a sidenote, my poor loner sim managed to make a bff she was comfortable with. Died through stories, next bff she made also died in some weird way 😅 she’s now scared of making a new bff cause grim hust gonna snatch her.
Vampires tend to more or less last forever so I have set neighborhood stories loose on all known vampire households (— well, my Godfrey is a vampire and the exception to this rule) and it’s claimed it’s first victim after being on for a number of sim days...
I have deaths activated for all nonplayed households, but haven’t had a single one thru neighborhood stories. Do I have to have aging on for that to happen? Or maybe it’s conflicting with something in mccc. Haven’t figured it out yet.
Everyone Kaori lived with died in the first week. Thats grim. Theres also been about another 7 ghosts of premades disappearing, including Eliza and Mortimer! Games gone wild with murder and we're not even seeing many births if at all.
Frankly might have to turn off deaths otherwise the whole neighbourhoods going to be empty. There's accidents, and then theres a premade mass-extinction
Features like this actually prevent me from buying any more packs. I'll not update my game until it is guaranteed that no played sim will get hurt. All my houses are actively played and there is no way I would allow EA ruin it all by randomness.
After some experimentation I have the following settings, plus MCCC (for handling club members, disable bar nights and a few minor tasks, not involved in the population):
"My Sims": Turned off. but I literally only have my main household there "Other Sims": Die By Accident: Off, Move Out: Off, Quit Career: Off. All others On.
This way elders can retire, "not in world" Sims can move IN, but nobody can move OUT, and unemployed Sims can get jobs but nobody decides to quit jobs. So for example if I evict a family because I want to live in their house, they can randomly move to another house that is empty.
@catmando830 Yes, but only in manage households. If you haven't gone into manage households to turn it on then you have nothing to worry about, it doesn't run unless you check the box to turn it on. it doesn't run automatically.

You also have a checkbox directly under Options that disables it completely.
Missed that because of the resolution I run my screen at it was hidden away where I couldn't see it. I ran into the same thing with the switch for Bust the Dust. Thanks for the tip.

Yep. Just like you can turn off weather or pollution.
