Worried

«1
I'm worried it may be time to put my Sim in Depends. With six toilets in the house she failed to make to any one of them. I just checked on her, she's at the dining room table just sitting, even though her bladder is full. :open_mouth: Perhaps, she's worried about the neighborhood changes taking place and the fact that four of her five children will be moving out very shortly …

How often do your Sims have an epic bladder failure?

I haven't had any bladder failures because I won't let it come to that. But I have noticed a lot more instances where they are into the red and still won't go autonomously.

    I play autonomy off
so bladder failure isn't too common as I'm always micromanaging

but ive noticed weird and disturbing trend where sims when told to use toilet will not go to toilet and instead go sit on random chairs :fearful:

Use bathroom don't wet the chair gosh :confounded:

i think its probably another weird routing glitch cause i first had it happening in sulani where picnic table is in front of public toilet so they're somehow distracted to sit around table instead but yeah lately its happening all over no chair is safe

Never. Checking my Sims' needs is almost mindless. It's part of my routine.

The last time one of my sims had a bladder failure it was pretty much on me...I forced them to keep doing something else when it was pretty clear it was going to cause a problem. I just didn't want them to waste time going to the bathroom until they finished what they were doing and was hoping they'd still make it (they didn't).

Normally though, I send sims to the bathroom far more often then they need to. As someone who drinks an insane amount of water irl...and thus uses the bathroom pretty much every 2 hours...I tend to have my sims hit up a bathroom every time they walk past one.
I even have the bladder motive modded in my game to decay 20% faster than normal...because I feel like the sims don't need to use the bathroom often enough at default.

I had a Sim pee himself, but it was entirely his fault. Jacob pranked the only toilet in the house, and while it was being repaired, he sat down to play a video game and flirted with Azure. Once the toilet was fixed, he foolishly enthused over identifying the Perch instead of using it. Rohan (whose Bladder need was also in the red zone) made his way to the toilet. Jacob didn't stand a chance.

    I noticed this lately too.

Thanks for that. I don't feel so bad. I can't tell you how many of those "Awards" I've won. :open_mouth:

@Stormkeep I generally cheat up their needs. Yeah, I've gotten that bad with Sims4. :* Problem is, I caught her too late. :open_mouth: But I still have to wonder what's up with that? Seven toilets in the house, seven Sims. No Waiting!

The routing certainly has gone very strange. I watched as my Sim walked along the fencing to his house, then turned to walk over to the Sim he was supposed to speak with. :open_mouth: It was on the awkward side.

I normally catch them sooner. I think I may have been focusing on a different Sim at that moment. (I know, I know, there's no excuse …)

None yet. They, so far, have been very good at making a beeline for the nearest bathroom or poohoo bush, depending on their location. There have been occasional close calls when waking up with bladder in red, but so far they've made it.

Since I play most of the time with full autonomy on, I haven't seen this. But if it's a thing to be worried about, I 'll watch for it.

Only with full autonomy completely off have I seen a Sim stand there with a silly grin on her/his face and soil them-self. :D

When I play with Dine Out now, my Sim sits on the toilet, stands up and walks away unless I reset her at the place she's eating at. I don't recall this when I bought Dine Out when it first came out. I recall a lot less pathing issues and action drops now that I think about it too. Something in recent years seems to have broken things further and I never use any mods or cc.

Recently, I had a surprise bladder failure in the game. My sim wanted to make a drink at the bar, so I had her make her favorite drink which turned out to be sparkling water. Her bladder might have been just barely in the yellow, I certainly would have noticed if it was dramatically low. So she drank that sparkling water and I didn’t think anything of it until I saw her bladder plummet down and she peed herself right there. It just went right through her!

My latest sims bladder failures were due to the traps in Jungle Adventure while doing the "No Skills, No Problem" scenario. Other than that I tend to drop everything and send them to he nearest toilet when I see that need hit red, and Steel Bladder is one of the first reward traits I give my sims to null out that problem.

Very rarely. They are usually good at autonomous actions, I can let them handle their needs quite well themselves.

There are some random Sims that have bladder issues if I don't force them to go to the toilet. Yesterday when I was playing my 100 baby challenge one of the kids was so obsessed with playing her violin that she peed herself. For some reason she just couldn't stop playing and go to the toilet. She was playing the violin autonomously, I didn't make her do it, it was completely her own choice to pee in her pants. At some point I noticed that her bladder need was red, but I trusted her to solve the problem herself. I guess she just wasn't smart enough or she's too much into music to care. :D

This right here. I was playing through the Unlucky Chef. And anyone who's played a culinary sim, knows that you have to create an absurd amount of drinks for the daily task. Every day. Numerous drinks. My poor chef never drink much (neither could he ever eat all the food he cooked), but he grabbed that sparkling water autonomously. I didn't even notice his bladder being low. Until he made that puddle on the floor, poor thing had to be sent to the shower for the second time since coming home from work that day.

When you finish one of the Challenges though, all of the family get points to spend. My single Sim got 5 thousand so he wouldn't have to worry about bladder problems and a lot more after that!

Ah, I've never used the Steel Bladder Trait. I may just give it to Louise. LOL As good as a Depend, right? LOL

Yes, I am afraid for every fix, two things get broken. Just yesterday I had to send my Sim back to the bathroom to finish his business. Instead of completely emptying the bladder he left got up with about a quarter of the bar to go. Face/palm.

I play with full autonomy on! That's the whole point. I just can't understand why Louise has suddenly abandoned her Potty Training skills. (And yes, she began the game as a full adult, but still …) Makes me wonder if she's in the early stages of Senility? I actually had a Sim back in Sims2, who kept forgetting stuff. He would go into a room and look totally puzzled as to just why he was there. It was hysterical.

I had that trouble while playing this weekend. I have 8 poor sims on the lot in Sulani that has the crashed ship on it. I removed the furniture and bathroom from the basement under the ship and scattered 4 pee bushes around the lot. Several of my sims never made it to the bush. I understand them being fussy if the bush isn't, uh, fresh, but even when I sent them to the most distant bush that hadn't been used, they still would stop and stare around...next thing you know, puddle time.

I saw the routing issue happen with Mortimer Goth. I sent him to a bush and he walked way out to the side, turned a sharp corner, and marched in the direction of the bush. Then he just kinda wandered a bit till finally winding up at the bush, which, by that time, was occupied. He drifted away while I was doing something else and left a puddle. I noticed that Eliza Pancakes was constantly needing a shower, now I'm wondering if she was having bladder troubles, too.

I’ve had that happen to me when I was too busy paying attention to one sim and the other got home from work and I guess he didn’t properly get onto the home lot so he just stood around until his bladder failed. I didn’t notice until I got the achievement for it.

Thinking back when I replayed the game recently after a few years playing other stuff the bladder tends to lower faster than I remember too. Maybe it's the new scared trait and it's glitching on non-scared Sims? Scared ones need to use the bathroom more frequently and I think the scared mood was added to the base game, not just paranormal.

Oh, I didn't think of that! @Mkins Yeah, my sims have been spending quite a bit time scared out of their tiny minds. I've got the lot set for earthquakes, volcano, Sulani Spirits and Ghosts. I'm making their survival a challenge. >:) No wonder they are piddling everywhere!
