Do you guys like male Sims or Females better?

I like playing both because I like playing with personalities and stories, but I play as female Sims more often and create mostly female Sims in CAS. I also wish there was more CAS options for male Sims.

Men all the way! I use to feel the same way until I discovered cc.
After I got into cc I realized how much variety and fun with fashion they can actually have. Still not as much as girls but after collecting for so long I'm overflowing in beards, suits, shoes, bodyhair and outfits and costumes of every type. Same with the hair so I usually spend hours dressing them.
Girls still have so many more unique styles and options though so I'm overflowing with that too lol.

Outside of from CAS, I love my girls but just enjoy playing with my male sims more in general. I think maybe because I'm more into traditional roles and prefer to have my female sims quiet sweet and humble, I can have more wild adventures with male sims lol. 🤭

I am so bad at making male sims. Plus I think their CAS library is lacking and its way less fun looking for male CC.

That last Kit they gave us that included male clothing items let me down tremendously. I was excited to hear we would be getting more male clothing but the content was lackluster.

I still prefer to at least start with male Sims. I wish they would take another crack at giving us more typical male clothing.

It honestly depends. I prefer playing with female sims because I have more CC for them. However, I can definitely appreciate a well-made, handsome male sim & when I'm downloading sims, I prefer to download males because I make my own female sims just fine.

I don't really have a preference, but I do enjoy making male sims more because it's a snap for me to make a beautiful female sim, but male sims are hard.

I can make a pretty boy male sim just fine, but making a "rugged" looking one is tough for me, and it's what I actually prefer in RL and in the sims.

I agree with those who say males are underrepresented in CAS, but I use CC so I don't have so much of a problem regarding that. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect male suit, though. :cries:

I usually play rotationally and really enjoy playing both. Like Chazzzy, I was disappointed in the mens pack we got.

I play with families mostly and in rotation, so it's about 50/50 for me.

I honestly have no preference and play both equally through legacy play style. Whoever is the first born in the generation I'm playing is the Sim I play with regardless if male or female. I also like playing rotationally with the families.

yeah idk it depends on the plot im playing i do think i spend more time in female cas though cause i always dress up my male sims in same way like either they edgy or they wear suits or both mixed up and idk why i keep doing that I need to give them more fashion options

do also think i tend to default to male or female instead of like androgynous/nonbinary so i think making more sims like that would be fun

or making some rough gals and sweet dudes for a change like i keep doing the gals in pretty dresses and dudes in cool suits thing and i need to stop doing so

Who's suits do you have currently? For my tastes the best period are McLayneSims, but his are alpha. For MM SimmieV and David_MTv2 (Veiga Sims) are good too.

@DaniRose2143 Thank you for the recs! I love finding new creators. Alpha is fine, I'm a dedicated Maxis mix user. I lean more to MM, but I do have some alpha stuff. Hopefully I can find something from these folks, and if not a suit I'm sure I'll find something I can't live without LOL. I'm a CC junkie.

The only CC suit I have currently is the Lothario jacket and pants by arethabee. I am very picky when it comes to men's pants, if they don't break nicely across the shoes, forget it. It's why I can't use much of the Maxis stuff, the pants are too short. Even if fashions have changed, I just can't abide the high-water look.

I like both, but most of my favorite Sims are males. Somehow they seem to have more personality, at least in my saves.
I always play a new Sim (that I've made) for a while until I decide whether to keep or delete her/him and sadly the ones that I end up deleting are mostly females.

I do have to confess that on the whole that I spend more time on a female sim in CAS for the very shallow reason they are pretty.

My game does have a 50/50 population with a handful of gay, trans sims to mix things up a bit. Sadly the game doesn't seem to generate those and I have to create them. There is a gender preference option you can get at in MCCC which I manually set for good handful of sims.

I created an all male dance troupe that use some of the most extravagant female clothes and they look great rocking their stuff in the street with their mobile disco and dance mat

Like Stormkeep said above, the game does lack male stuff like decent beards, body hair etc and facial details. CC has filled the gap somewhat, but I only like Maxis Match and that can be hard to find. Finding good long hair styles for males is really hard.

Male sims. Kinda how it has always been for me as a gamer for my male characters in RPGs always end up being the better ones. I think it's because I more efficiently "distance" them from myself so that I'm then able to take more freedoms and create actually exciting characters. Female characters tend to more easily gain "self-insert" qualities which then kind of make their characterizations be all over the place or just less interesting. Same thing seems to happen with the Sims. Sure, females can be more fun to dress up due to all the options available but they just don't inspire me nearly as much story wise. Some exceptions exist but it's almost as if I need to use way more radical/conscious thought to do so.

Mostly males but it depends on the story in my head and the character that will be the main character of that story in my head. But I'm very disappointed with the male clothing pack/style. It has been males for me mostly since back in TS1 the first couple I created had a very hard life, lol. The female got killed cooking for the first time, his life was so miserable after that (sad clown painting and had no idea how to stop it) that he became my favorite of all time, so yeah, I have a special spot in my heart for male Sims in The Sims.

I think mine is about 50/50 or I try to maintain it that way. The game has given me a lot of daughters recently so it's a tad out of balance in that generation with female children at 70/30 currently.

I enjoy creating both, have cc for both. When I think of who my favorite sims are though, that would be my male sims. I like playing as both but my male sims are more endearing to me hands down.

I forgot Aretha has a few really nice male CAS items. You may want to check out JolieBean. She has some nice male items too.

I have always liked to customize female sims more, I would like to customize male sims more than I do but their CAS clothes are lacking and they always get less clothing with every pack.

We have tried to ask for more male clothing for a long time, we did get some more formal clothing for men with MWS which they had not added since forever but that pack also showed what Maxis prefers to do, men got a few suits, women got 10+ new dresses.

I disagree with Male clothes lacking variety, one shirt or sweatshirt can look completely different from another or one pair of pants can look completely different from another and you can also combine different types of clothes, like they did with their recent kits.

I'm happy that they added these (although I don't like that they had to add them in a kit). I don't see why we can't get normal variants of these, they don't have to be focused on 80's fashion and airport fashion.

Most (but not all) of the sims I actually play with are male.

I don't necessarily feel a lack of male clothing options, but I wish that facial hair could be set individually by outfit the way hairstyles can be. Often, I've wanted to make a guy who is scruffy and unshaven in his everyday or sleep outfit, but clean-shaven for his formal and party clothes. But with the way CAS treats facial hair, I can't do this.

@DaniRose2143 Thank you for the hint about JolieBean's CC. My daughter and I just found 20-or-so things we liked there. As if we needed any more clothes, etc. for our Sims...

@DaniRose2143 Oh, thank you very much. Z is my full-time Simming buddy. She is the CAS specialist among us, so our Gallery never lacks for new and interesting Sims.

We found a lot more for our females than our males, which is somewhat of a shame. Our Sim guys tend to be more clean-cut or ruggedly handsome, rather than being as pretty as our women.

@MoonlightGraham I really love how you two do the Sims as a team. That is absolutely adorable and Z is going to have such great memories of those daddy-daughter moments! Kudos to you dad!
