I love the pack over all. The world is beautiful, there are a good amount of lots for a GP, and there are some nice large ones. I love the amount of adult dresses there are, that there are bouquets and flowers for the mens lapels, that you can walk down the aisle arm in arm. I like the idea they have brought out more buffet tables, and the champagne bottles, toast and cake cutting is cute. I love the variety of cakes and cake toppers. I like that they included all ages for ring bearer, flower girl, etc. and I especially like the slow dancing the pack has brought back.

But I do have a few negative thoughts about the pack too. I was really wanting some veils and tiara’s not tied to hairs, and was so disappointed we didn’t seem to get a long transparent veil on the back. I was so looking forward to veils, tiara’s and flowers for around the hair. I wish at this point they would come out with a kit for that. I’m assuming slow dancing is tied to the floor object as well, it would have been nice to be able to slow dance to any radio without the dance floor ( I haven’t seen this in any of the game changers video’s ). I would have loved to see more children and toddlers dress outfits too. I would have loved to see cuddling in bed, spooning, and a romantic bear rug, I hope we still get those things. I was sorry to see we got no motel/hotel venue and no casino stuff, or parked houseboat lots. I would have also liked to see more than one beach lot. But, it was a beautiful world.

Oh, and yes, I was really hoping for an attraction system like so many others were.

I don't understand why they felt the need to make a new world with this pack. We don't need another world just for weddings. I feel like the weddings/gameplay would've been much better if they focused more on the weddings/gameplay itself instead of adding a new world.

I’m very glad they made a new world, one of my favorite things about this pack.

The new world is just to make it worth a game pack. Otherwise it would be just a stuff pack.

In german game packs are called gameplay pack. There is no translation, it's just another english word. What I really miss is the gameplay in this pack. The world looks nice but I desperatly need new gameplay. Currently I am out of ideas what to play. In the past every pack gave me a lot of new input for a few weeks. A wedding pack without gameplay gives me nothing.

I wonder if this is the future of Sims 4. Game Packs without gameplay. Kits without gameplay. Waiting months for new content and being dissapointed by the lack of gameplay. Even the few gameplay is bugged and we have to wait months untill they are fixed(or not).

    RE: Wedding cake animation

ETA: It's no surprise they keep "re-selling" existing content/animation. Like placing those BG clay and voodoo dolls to the City Living festivals.

I can confirm that the sim who was directed to cut the cake/bring a piece to their partner has to have the Clumsy trait for the shoving cake in face-animation to play. I dont know why its clumsy and not goofball but thats how ive had it work.

Yeah I think goofball and childish should be the traits to trigger it, I remember in The Sims 2 it was determined by how playful the Sim who cuts the cake was.

There's reused programming and events all over the place. This pack makes me almost as cross as Journey To Batuu. The world of Tartosa is mostly a shell or base-game assets, otherwise we'd have more building things in bb.

What would have been nice as a world? Not a residential world, but some kind of vacation world for your 'honeymoon'.

I have forgotten that detail. Haven't had a Clumsy sim in ages and it shows lol. I wonder if they will vary the feeding animation from now on. Going to edit my post to avoid confusion.

@SheriSim57 the slow dancing is not tied to the dance floor. Simgirl confirmed for us that it can be done just using a stereo.

I've just been looking at some info on all the events the pack gives... family gathering, rehearsal dinner etc. They all seem virtually exactly the same. What a waste of time. It makes it look as though there's a lot to it when really there isn't.

    Hello!

Well... I am very much looking forward to the world but I wish that there was a different gameplay element tied to it. I am not fussed about wedding and wish it was something else.

Guess I am somewhere in the middle now. Worldwise I am firmly in the happy bouncy positive thread and gameplay I am just not. This thread is really useful. I see that other are perhaps less enthused because they wanted more wedding in the wedding pack and I wish there was none at all. I hope that Tartosa will be wonderful and that those who are unhappy will have better luck in the next pack. My joy for Tartosa in the positive thread and the rest of it here.

    Good night everyone.

The world looks beautiful but it's the icing on the cake. As in, really it means nothing. I can have weddings anywhere, and the world could look like the industrial end of Eco Living for all it mattered, the only thing that is important is the GAMEPLAY.

Hmm... I am wondering what the gameplay people are up to. Yes, we have been getting kits galore and the newest Gamepack is a World Pack with a side dish of weddings. I presume that they are doing something. This world will be very useful to me so I am happy for that but I am wondering when we will see some real involving gameplay that truly changes the game again.

I'm personally wondering if they didn't assign all of their decent gameplay designers to the Sims 5 team and the ones left are still in 'learning-the-ropes' mode. That would explain why, literally, every gameplay element in this pack is just an adaptation of existing game elements.

This post will be edited by StormKeep at some point.

In fact it's similar to StrangerVille, here the mission is the wedding.

IMO it might be worse then Journey to Batuu. Every time I check this threads there's new information on how terrible this pack is. It's embarrassing.

So In this Pack they added a Social Event, Some CAS, and smallest selection of B/B (imo, I can't remember if OR is smaller, but even that has more features than this pack XD) yet it is considered as a game pack... Slow Dancing is New yes, but other than that? A lot of wedding animations here are just base game animations that are just underused. For example, the spouse putting the cake on the face of the partner? Watch "The Sims 4 Launch Trailer" and you will see the same animation.

    Are you serious?

*Looks at the sims4 launch trailer.

    Oh. My. God.

This is genuinely making me angry.

Same. Specially since, it is a base game interaction that is so buggy that the animation can't even work, and now we are going to pay for a bug fix that don't even work! I can't believe they are taking this long to fix an animation issue.

I've been wondering the same. For DHD, I suppose some of the gameplay people were busy with the creation of Cottage Living at the time - and it showed cause DHD really wasn't something gameplay wise.
So we might be getting another really good Expansion Pack in the summer. I hope it's horses. They would definately need the most work on gameplay I could think of for themes we didn't get yet (and btw I love them). It might also be a Generations Pack. In that case, some of the romance interactions and other gameplay we were hoping for in this GP might be coming with that EP.

@TS1299: The reuse of gameplay from BG and previous packs always bothers me, but that animation is working for me. It's tied to the clumsy trait.

The animation looks so deliberate, it makes no sense that it’s tied to clumsy instead of goofball or mean. Makes me a little sad for my clumsy sims, because the other sim seems to get pretty annoyed and if it happens due to clumsiness, then it’s just an accident compared to if it’s done on purpose.

I agree that it would have been nice if there had been more emphasis on the gameplay surrounding weddings, but having weddings as the subject for a pack might also be a somewhat narrow focus that limits the appeal of the the pack to some players, but add a new world and it becomes appealing to a much wider audience 😉

Clumsy sims should have their own clumsy animation. Other sims could be embarrassed instead of angry, or even playful! The other one makes more sense with a high mischief skill tbh!

Didn't think I'd end up in thread.

Posted really optimistic views on the positive side. The CAS, BB & interactions seemed to be a nice way of 'refreshing' the wedding thing & luxury parties.

But the bugs really bug me.

This pack should NOT have been ANNOUNCED before it was thoroughly tested. Great idea using game changers for lot building, but actual players should've been used to find the problems.

It was a bad idea to use the game changers as beta tester. This is not a good promotion for the pack.
