I would roll back, but I have a very particular style of game play, that does not mesh with Sims dying. Aging off baby!
I have aging on because I want my Rock Star to continue playing concerts for as long as he is able. That's the goal. I also hope he continues to win Starlight Accolades for his music along the way. Cutting him off short in yesterday's game took me completely off-guard. The way the whole thing played out was just weird. I've never seen anything like it.

You give some very interesting thoughts for a plotline. However with the streak Erik is on currently, there is no need for such a publicity stunt. I have something noodling around in my head right now. I'll have to flesh out the idea and see if it's a keeper.

He was my 'super' Sim in that he was my Global Superstar. I had just learned the way for him to be recognized for his MUSIC, after all of these years of trying. So, yeah, I'm not ready to give him up. I would only turn around and start his story yet again. I've done so, so many times I've lost count. The one save I'm trying to get back to, is his first three children were Teens. The first four have just aged to Child, not quite there and then this glitch occurs. Face/palm. May I scream now?
I completely understand the restarting with the same sims, I've done it so many times with my Brooks family Considering he was your super sim, maybe you should find a way of bringing him back. It is strange though that the camera didn't pan to him or grim at the time.

Finally, I had a way to tell more of his story, since his part in the trilogy was very limited. In Sims2 he wasn't the full musician he evolved into, as you know music was also limited in Sims2. But, he did become the Mayor. LOL He is a worthy Sim in my mind.

Yes, I'm thinking of sending Erik back to the coop where he just may make the decision to sell Ol' Sir Buttercup for the MEAT. Ha, that'll learn 'em. Trust me I'm not all that invested in the chickens, and certainly not so much now. My Sims have sold the older ones off for other amenities offered in that process. Sometimes for the white meat, too.

Unless you are fond of the sim. Other than dying from old age, surprise deaths are very rare in my game. I would usually have another household member plea to the Grim Reaper. But if they are home alone or the plea fails...

That's the problem in a nutshell. I AM very fond of him, he's more or less the star of the show. I wasn't given the courtesy of even seeing Grimmie, let alone for his wife to be able to plead for his life. Not only that, but he has four or five Death Flowers he could have used to save himself. I have never used those before, but his Fans tend to send them to him in the mail. I always found it a tad disconcerting when his two Obsessed Fans would leave plates of Ambrosia whenever they visited his lot. This tied into the break-in makes for an interesting plot. I decided to exit without saving and wrote up what happened, so I could use the idea the obit gave me.

He only just died. No ghost has appeared. I don't understand how one can get information via MCCC when there is no Sim to click on. At any rate, I deemed it a glitch and exited without saving. When I played it out again, Erik was attacked by one of the chickens. Others have said it is possible for chickens to kill a Sims. The whole point is, the camera never took me to the dying/dead Sim. No chance to plead with Grimmie, no chance to offer the Death Flower that Erik had. It was just weird.

As you can see he was being attacked by an angry chicken. Ultimately, Erik sold him for meat. That ends that. He did end up getting pecked by another chicken, but I didn't have the camera trained on Erik at the time to identify which chicken it was. He may very well opt to purchase eggs and get rid of the menace altogether.

I might have said let it go if it had been an interesting death, but since you didn't even see it or get any notification I think I'd do what you did. Especially as invested as you are in Erik. I'm all for going with the flow but not when it feels like a glitch.
Normally I go with it with it and usually end up moving the ghost back in with the family, but if you have reason to think it was a glitch then roll back.
