I started this Shell Challenge #RDNA4 by @RDNA4_SE and I added the gallery picture to show what it looked like, mine is in Del Sol Valley and I am not sure if I will change the wall cover I will see when I add windows but I thought a colour would make a change. I am using platforms to surround the rear garden, I might add some fencing on top.
The columns I added the pool light strips as I never use them
Gallery Picture
I did copy the levels as rooms and re built it in Del Sol Valley
Thanks @rosemow I have just stopped and added a couple of updated screenshots above. I had a problem with purple beds so I used one from the Celeb pack I didnt want black with purple but most items are its a shame as I was using white with purple, cant have everything Lol.
The windows look great in the build! @luckyheather Very nice pool and hot tub area. The sunken sitting area is great! It is very nice that there will be a dj booth and dancing balcony area.
The purple and black bed will still look great even though you would have preferred white with the purple.
Thanks very much @rosemow its great you noticed the sunken seated area, I thought it would be more private that way as Fans might try and see what is going on in the garden and thats why I chose a solid front door so they cant press their noses on doors glass to peer inside Plus I put a wall behind the undercover BBQ and I will do more to the hot tub.
I hope the bed does look nice and I tried to match the black/white with the bathroom below the bedroom thanks for your encouraging comments, I will do more of it tomorrow.
@luckyheather I saw the photos of this completed build first, and just saw this now. I love sunken seating areas in general, but I think it's great to read about how you empathized with the Sims living in the house - very imaginative
Posting pics of my WIP beach house - wanted a dramatic stairway
and open concept
just curious - does anyone here have strong views against open concept builds?
Your WIP Beach house is looking very nice! @bbdarlingo8s The staircase design is very great! Very nice fireplace dining and bar counter nook area. The fireplace design is lovely!
Open plan builds are very nice!
Hi @bbdarlingo8s I dont do sunken areas very often but I thought it would be nice behind the front wall and I landed up doing one inside for tv viewing to make the room more interesting. Yes I did imagine what it must be like being a celeb having people trying to see you and take pictures around their home
I like your beach house stairs very nicely done. One of the #Deligracy challenges for Newcrest if open plan you might like to see, the challenge gallery link is #delibuildcrest I must admit I am not used to doing a complete open plan build so I might have a go at doing hers. I am doing the build with Fave things in, I an nearly finished
This is a competition entry for an ecological innovative building. My plan was to use waterpower for energy generation and biomass for absorbing CO2. In the end the result looks a bit like a modern hobbit hole (the use of the round windows was intentional) but fortunately the jury liked my design. I hope you like it too.
The lot is fully playable and - pretty unusual for me - contains no additional CC objects. Every part is original Maxis. The waterwheel and the small boat are debug objects. The max. budget was $100k; the result were lot costs of $89,037.
Contest entry description:
Welcome to GAIA -The living Earth.
It represents a brand-new lot design following the latest ecological building guidelines.
Due to the sheer biomass located on the roof, the building is absolutely CO2 neutral. It absorbs more than the amount of CO2 produced while running the house.
Although it does not require electricity or water connection, you do not have to give up the conveniences of modern life. Electricity is produced by the waterwheel, which also provides energy to the water processing plant which is fed by the river. The water wheel rotates day and night driven by the water current. Therefore, the lot energy supply is not dependent on sunshine duration or wind availability.
The building has a kitchen, a living room with a fireplace, two bedrooms and a bathroom on ground level. There is plenty of storage space in the rear rooms and the first level is prepared with a staircase for further expansion of living space.
In addition, the house has round windows, which significantly contribute to the feel-good factor of living.
Reduce your carbon footprint without giving up comfort and have fun while being environment aware.
Bonxie: Great Skua, stercorarius skua. Meet me on Fair Isle.
Your contest entry home is great! @Bonxie It is a lovely eco friendly home! The exterior design with the greenery, plants, flowersm blossoms, trees on the walls and roofing, and through the outdoors areas is very lovely! It looks so pretty! The water wheel is great! The round windows are very nice. The wishing well is great for the build! Very great layout of the interior and very nice furnishing of each room.
It is a great creative eco home!
Hi I am doing some of @Deligracy Newcrest Challenge buids #delibuildcrest is the Gallery Link plus she has a YouTube video to watch.
This one I just started and added a pool on the right. I will decide windows after some research tomorrow.

Deciding to try Greek or Roman Style
Roof edge with half walls
With Deeper half walls and Brickwork
I think Roman after I googled windows.
As its going well here are update pictures
I am trying not to clutter the interior too much as its small inside. I tested roof level sim moved around easy.
It is great that you are doing a Roman style of your home @luckyheather The updated version of your WIP is very nice! The greenery looks great on the walls and very nice hot tub pergola and outdoors dining area on the rooftop. The statue and fish fountains in the front area are pretty!
Thank you @rosemow I got the fish fountains idea from a googled image of a Roman fountain its been uploaded now as I managed to finish today. Thanks for saying it looks pretty.
@luckyheather I commented on another thread on the finished build, but complimenting you here on how you managed those sharp angles! The Roman theme was such a great choice, and your details were so thoughtful and cohesive - really creative and amazing!
Still working on my massive beach house - so. many. hours.
The terrace dining really came together:
Does anyone like outdoor dining spaces as much as I do?? lol. Sometimes I wonder if other Simmers are like "naw BB, my Sims don't eat outside that much"
The terrace outdoors dining, bar, bbq area in your WIP is lovely! @bbdarlingo8s Sims will have very nice views whilst dining there. The flowers on the table are pretty.
Thank you so much @bbdarlingo8s for your wonderful comments I too have a love of sims eating outdoors or doing things they enjoy outside, I think most of my builds have a least one balcony or a roof garden
This is what I started this afternoon, its for the challenge by Deligracy #delibuildcrest This 1 is to build with the fountains on the lot, I looked at it and thought Alien, so here it is so far and the gallery picture of the lot before I built on it. There is a lot to do yet.
My weird Alien build so far, I did add a proper Pool each side for swimming. Front door is right front.
The Original
Thank you @rosemow I do like to try something different but as the building is large I hope I can make it look good. I need some images for inspiration so I think I will look on Google images before I do more today
Here is an Update WIP Screenshots for the challenge by Deligracy #delibuildcrest This 1 is to build with the fountains on the lot. I still have fountain water spouts to add to the pools and add some plants up top and im thinking of terrain painting the grass to stones like Sixam. I also cant make up my mind for a name.... any ideas?
Comments
Thank you @rosemow im pleased you like the roof areas as I thought views up there would be lovely any time of day.
