Wedding Pack Coming?

simgirl1010simgirl1010 Posts: 35,707 Member

And yes – it seems we’re definitely getting a Wedding Game Pack!
Just a few days ago The Sims Team published their roadmap for The Sims 4 releases from January to March. The roadmap gave a few vague teases of what we’re getting, including a new Game Pack and two Kit releases.

Today TheSims.com got updated with teasers for each paid release:

Still gonna wait for details before giving up on this one entirely, but I'm not encouraged. As a player whose sims (even the most romantically-inclined ones) rarely get married and never have game-event weddings, this pack may well be wasted on me.
FYI: Just because you can see my signature, don't assume that I can see yours.
Because I can't; I keep all sigs turned off. ;)

    > I also need to know more details until I allow myself get more disappointed, but right now I'm not happy about these news.
I sometimes elope but if it's a thing to get the sims out of their house is just have a wedding at a park.

If they include a faithful trait/make the marriage vows actually mean something (will stop my flirty mood groom from flirting with all his guests and mother-in-law in front of his new wife), and some extra interactions for couples and non-couples, I might throw an eye on it.

If it's just wedding clothes, some new haircuts and lots of decorative bb items, then another pass from me. I'd like to think otherwise, but...

I agree with the others. Not too excited if it's going to be centered around wedding. Something I never do in my game. I was hoping it would be general romance. Kind of like a romantic version of get together. Still hopeful for some sweet romantic interactions though🙏

Yeah if it's just about weddings, I'm not too interested. I can honestly say, that I have not once (in the entire The Sims series) ever had an actual "wedding" take place.

But I always do (and want more, more more) romantic actions to make my sims fall in love and become a married couple, I just don't do the actual ceremony.

The only time I have ever done anything remotely resembling a wedding was just to set up a scene for story telling with pics, and then to me it was nothing more than photo shoot props for my pics.

Lately every pack/kit misses the mark for me due to the preconceived idea that forms in my head when I read about a hint for any new upcoming packs. I was seriously hoping it was more about actual romance, not just the wedding event.

But on a good note, maybe we'll actually get slow dancing added (you know, the actual face-to-face/holding close type that couples do at weddings), so if that's included it'll be one of my small "wants" fulfilled with this pack even if I don't ever use the main feature of the pack.

I did do a few wedding events in the early days of my Sims 4 experience, but I quickly learned that not only was it more annoying than fun, the ceremony style didn't fit the character/culture of most of the sims I was playing. So these days when I do have a wedding at all, it's one that I make up myself based directly on the individuals involved. Maybe we'll indeed get some new types of romantic interaction, but I hope that at least some of them won't be locked inside a wedding pack or not available outside of marriage.

Still no word yet on the gamepack trailer but I bet it's coming Next Week. I sure hope this is a full on romantic pack vs just a wedding pack.

What do yall think extra to the max means?

What do yall think extra to the max means?

I'm personally expecting it to be something that my normal, everyday clothing wearing sims won't be using very often (if at all).

If the phrasing means anything, it'll probably be something inspired by 1980s stuff. If so, it's one that I'd definitely be skipping.

I wasn't sure but isn't there a furniture style that starts with "max" like it has very tacky animal prints and stuff.

I am excited for a wedding pack! I don't throw weddings for my sims because they s-... are just not good. A weddign pack would change it for sure. I hope we are getting plenty of traditional and untraditional dresses! For every age category so we can have little flowerkids :) I can't wait to hear more. I hope we'll get news pretty soon.
    -probably just playing Phasmophobia :p

Yes but I'm just afraid its too much about the bling wedding gear and too little about the romance aspect

and game really needs better romance gameplay and ill be so sad if even with this its not coming

Generally speaking, sure. But you can have weddings without romance and romance without weddings.

I have thrown SO many weddings in my save file. Cobalt & Kelsey at the basegame Willow Creek park, Jade & Octavia (after she leaves Thorne) in Sulani, Jasper & Plumella at the foot of a volcano.

I've mainly had backyard weddings, but I do have a wedding themed community center that doubles as a prom location.

In the past month, I've had Cobalt marry his second wife at a high end French restaurant, a vampire wedding in the magical realm, and a single mom marry her nanny at a casino in San Myshuno.

I'm planning to use this pack for my rock climbing, snowboarding couple who I want to get engaged at the top of the mountain climbing expedition.

More info, please. Better romantic interactions during the dating phase as well as a new attraction system would be nice. But if this pack just expands on having weddings, I'll pass. My Sims almost always have nice small weddings when they get married. A few guests, a cake, a buffet and music to dance to. Nothing large and lavish, just a quiet little gathering that is easily manageable but gives the newlyweds fond memories of their special day.

That doesn't sound like something I would like to play. But maybe they are planning to add more to the game that will work with the game pack. They did add likes/dislikes and bunk beds together with Dream Home Decorator.

To me romance is just that .... it's romance.
    • More Romantic interactions prior to ever being proposed to
    • The surprise and delight of first meeting your special someone and feeling that connection
    • Romantic interactions long after you've been married or partnered or whatever (things like holding hands, cuddling in bed, snuggling on the couch, etc), which has nothing at all to do with "weddings", it has to do with being romantic

So yeah, a wedding is just the event, if there's no new romantic interactions added, once the wedding is over, they will still behave the exact same way they did before the event.

Sims 4 has a tendency to have tunnel vision when they create packs and if the focus of the pack is about weddings, they will focus just on the event, not the things that lead up to the event, and not the things that occur after the event (which are things that would expand gameplay every day and not just on the wedding event day).

Oh Jesus, I sure hope not. The 1980s was a terrible decade for fashion. 🤮🤮
