I'm tired of kits and the latest base game updates weren't my cup of tea either.
Yes, I feel the same, and I do hope the upcoming EP is something people have been asking for. We really need Generations and updated babies, people have been asking so long already, it finally needs to happen. I wouldn't like to settle for something else. And I'd be really disappointed if it wasn't an EP coming up in January/February, but an SP AGAIN. I don't even want a GP, I want an EP. I am really disappointed we didn't get a second EP this year.
I am very disappointed with this year's content in general. DHD was boring, nothing I really needed, nice items, yes, but that was about it. CL was fun, but it was less fun than I hoped for, I wanted to breed livestock, grow crops and not just feed 2 cows or Lamas with their own sheds and grow oversized vegetables to enter contests. The latter would have been fun on top, but what about crops?
Also, what about horses? The only things I really loved about CL were the new family activities (cooking etc), but not being able to picnic on the ground, seriously?
We really need a pack coming with more family activities like playing boardgames, going for walks in EVERY world, basic games for kids (tag, cops and robbers, etc.). And I really want updated babies, real sims you can edit in CAS, I want them to be able to learn how to crawl and walk, toys and clothes for them, strollers, little blankets, I want them to have genetics, I want them to be the best we ever had, like TS4 toddlers. I love TS4-toddlers, they're the best in my opinion. I know they can do the same with babies. So why aren't they coming already?
I'd also like active school gameplay for elementary and high school with lots of new after school activities, perhaps being done similar like DU, even though I would like to follow my Sim into class. I would love a school pack to come with bands too. Bands/singing/music are a popular after school acitivity, so it would fit. I'd also like to build boarding schools and have an active teacher career, but I doubht we'd get that because we got the rabbit hole teacher career with DU. I also would like playable preschool for toddlers. I would love that. I hope active school gameplay considers all of the younger live stages. Oh and we need group activities for little toddlers, like singing and dancing with an adult sitting in a circle, doing little crafts together, playing catch, wrestle for fun on the floor, swings for toddlers, these little things to sit on we had in TS3 (you know what I mean, I don't know the English word), a little marygoround for toddlers... And we need proper playground equipment like seesaws, slides, climbing towers and marygorounds for children too...
They really need to wow me with these packs.
Oh and then we really need hotels too and more romance/wedding activities. Activities, not only stuff or items! I would love a romantic getaway pack coming with hotels and wedding activities like honey moon, games for weddings etc!
I agree 100%. I'd like to see hotels we can run with actual resort activities, or a theme park-based pack with actual rides sims can interact with. I rarely play live mode much these days because of just the lack of stuff to do on community lots. I think Snowy Escape was a great start with the "actual stuff to do" part, but it just wasn't a pack I was interested in.
I would have liked snowy escape better if they had included some activities that could have been done in other worlds, like sledding on hills during the winter in the snow ( integrated with seasons ), and possibly a ramp for snow boarding that could be used in other worlds as well.
My personal guess is we get an EP in June. I don't see them waiting more than one year between two EP. Perhaps, if we are lucky we get one SP or one GP before the expansion. And for the rest loads of CAS and BB kits.
I just really hope we can get another occult lifestate next year, preferably in a pack dedicated to this lifestate so it is fleshed out like spellcasters and vampires. They have been neglecting lifestates for quite a while now. We haven't gotten any occult lifestate since 2019.
To be honest they could be tweeting about anything. It could also be another pack refresh (please give us more refreshes) or even a new scenario. Simguru's can get excited over a lot of things, probably normal if they put a lot of effort into whatever they are working on. It would be nice if they did a follow up and let us know what it was about as soon as they are allowed to do so.
GrimSuruDoi is adamant that he does not hint (Unless there's a coordinated campaign of hinting among the SimGurus like the Cute Refubu/Future Cube in the Home offices way back at the start of the pandemic.)
I personally would like to see real babies, with things for them, like blanket on the floor, holding them in a chair, sofa etc. to nurse or feed a bottle, swings, stroller, baby slings and backpacks, baby swing, playpen etc. Furniture for a babies room like changing table, clutter items, cribs etc. Toddlers and children's bikes, trikes, skateboarding, push toys and ride on’s for toddlers, it would also be nice to have baby showers (not a rabbit hole )
Skateboarding, and driving lessons for teens, possibly a high school, and having some non rabbit hole activities for them.
Romance, Romance, Romance….slow dancing, actionable bear rug, spooning and cuddling in bed, walking holding hands wedding outfit category, tiara’s, veils etc. in hats, choosing a bouquet, having wedding showers
Amusement, water park, rides carnival booths, food booths with burgers, pizza, cotton candy, candied apples, snow cones, funnel cakes. Hotels ( we can make ), casino stuff, different buffets. With a new world.
And I don’t mind werewolves if that means we get body hair. I would loved to see eyelashes in the pack too.
Cars, buses, taxi’s, school buses. Working metro stations, motorcycles, gas station, car wash/fast food ownership.
Bands, horses, and more small animals like birds, snakes, tarantulas, lizards, children can play with and feed

Freed babies what game plays gives that?! Sims only gets interesting when they grows up to be kids, uptil then they only provide repetitive demands, bringing nothing to the game play.

Agreed x100. More integration with other worlds/packs would make me more inclined to purchase packs. Seasons for example has the roller/ice skating rinks that can be placed anywhere which is nice. If they did resorts, make the resorts anywhere you can build, and add items like pool slides or water rides that can also be used anywhere. Like you said, a ramp for snow boarding we could have put down anywhere in our worlds and use during the winter season.

I want horses to return so badly it hurts. My simself life is incomplete without them. Supposed to get rain here on Monday and Tuesday. If I had horses in the game, I could play while staring out the window and bracing myself for slogging out to the barn and trying to feed hay in the rain.

It may not be much but these interactions lead to developing a relationship with the baby. Similar to building trust and bonding with a real life baby.
My sim mom had full friendship with her babies before they aged up. Dad's bar would be about 60% full. Older sibling's relationships would vary depending on whether they were happy about having a new baby in the family.
Babies would bring something to the game if done right, show some little personality, genetics, build a bond with Mom or Dad, their siblings or other babies.

There has been such a long time since we last had any occult content. That would make me very happy. We will see what happens. It is nice to swing by this part of the forum every now and then.
I have recently installed Get To Work and was surprised at how much I enjoyed running my lovely bakery 🥰 (I was just a little bit annoyed with my three useless employees). I would love new business options whatever the new pack might be (like Dine Out and the restaurant). If it's a romantic pack with hotels, I'd love it if we could run them 😀

Right?!? My babies are still showing up with a dark skin tone on their thumbnail photo no matter what color their skin is in-game. I don’t use mods so I just wish they would at least fix that or release whatever they are going to do to babies that made them change in the first place

This is the best idea for a medieval pack I've seen yet! I really love it. I would play this so much. I turned one of the worlds into a medieval world based on Robin Hood, so a medieval pack with archery would be perfect for that.
It had been fixed, that bug was only recently revived, @Simskrista.
It was never completely fixed for me. When it was fixed, I had babies with the darkest skin tone, or the lightest one, and never anything in between. Basically, if a baby is extremely pale it would have the lightest skin tone in the thumbnail, but if it had any coloring at all it would have the darkest skintone in the thumbnail.
Honestly I don't care that much. They're babies so briefly, and when they age up their skintones match the portrait so I just ignore it.
My username has been my internet handle for over 20 years since I was 16 and refers to when I had a crush on a very tall boy. I intend absolutely no violence toward beautiful giraffes.
