Nice to have confirmation that there will be at least one more pack. Getting 4 kits instead of a full EP in the last 4 months of the year was very disappointing. Not saying I am sure that we didn't get a pack because of kits. It might very well be the effect of the pandemic. Starting creating a new pack will be more challenging than finishing packs already well in development.
I can also tell more EP, GP, SP, Kit and game update are in development for the next 7 years.

But we don't know that they started making, for example, Get Famous, in 2014. They could have started developing it in 2016 and taken only two years?
I think the amount of time probably varies from pack to pack, especially with the pandemic. However, I think concepts, ideas, and general premises and artwork for packs are planned pretty far in advance.
It'd be nice to get some info on it. I realize a lot cannot be shared when it is early, of course. I'd never expect full details. However, I wish they'd just confirm the pack type and themes. Some sort of noncommittal date with it would be even better.

@Calico45 I agree, now that we know a new EP is currently being worked on a little information would be nice. Especially for those who feared that all the kits meant that TS4 was coming to and end.

When people are saying Generations, what do they mean? Just more family play in general?
I'm curious about this too. Reading about Generations, it seems like we've gotten most of it already. We already have dating, cloning, moodlets, pranks, disciplining children, scouting, shower woohoo, potions, wedding arches, wedding cakes, and bunk beds.
-freed babys (including real genetics)
-in-law relationships
-active daycare
-daycare career
-proms
-more interactions evolving around proposal, weddings and giving birth (hen, baby shower, wedding dance)
-special child parties
-active schools
-more unique interactions for relatives
-more family games (preferable such games that can be put in your Sims inventory)
-functional picnic blankets
-games children can play with each other (play tag, Mary Mack,...)
-inviting whole households/families over
-families showing up as a group on Community Lots like parks
-more unique toys
-active school
-driving lessons
-asking for permisson to go on a date
-more after school activities
-family friendly lot trait and lot traits for different age groups
-longer young adult and adult life span (preferably customizable life spans)
-funerals
These are the one that come to my mind - I surely forgot some honorable mentions.

It's sad when this is the first thing you think of. I can't remember when we had a pack that interested me. Most of what's come out seems just like what we already have. I don't even want to hope after the pen/breeding restrictions on the so called farm pack.
Ok ok ok. Werewolves & fairies will likely be in a GP. I don't think we're getting cars. I suspect the EP will be:
1. Generations with more baby stuff and prom
2. Casinos (because there was a lot of that in the Sims 3 store)
3. Music Stuff and bands and drums
4. Some combo or 1 2 & 3
5. Something random we've never seen before.
I wish it'd be #4 with generations, garage bands, video arcades, soda shops, and "back in time" fashion to the 1950s-1990s with lots of fashion for men, toddlers, and elders for each generation. And bikes and skateboards. That would be my dream. Not happening, but I can dream.
