We have had quite a few kits now. Whats your overall impression of them?
A refresher:
Bust the Dust
Country Kitchen
Throwback fit kit
Courtyard Oasis
Industrial Loft
Fashion Street
Incheon Arrival
Blooming Rooms
Modern Menswear
Hopefully my poll questions are not too confusing XD and elaborate in comments if you wish.
I did not include an "other" because many pick an other and explain in comments and its hard to tell a general consensus. If majority pick other and not a poll option imo it defeats the purpose of a poll and might as well only be a discussion. Not that I dont want to see a discussion, but Id like a poll too
I wish we had more options in poll filters...like a multi select or a way to edit, to give more accurate answers or data etc... i know for some people the answer may be "both" or two answers but we have no multiselect. So try to choose the one that affects you the most or feel strongly about the most.

I have all but dust and most likely not buy tennis skirt kit either Unless it is totally untownified I have enough of Mortimer Goth, Viktor Feng and Geoffrey Landgraab running around about every single world in current situational outfits

For some players it's worth every penny and I'm really happy for them, but I'd be surprised if I buy any kits in the future.
I think I liked the concept of kits but the execution so far has been a little lacking, in my opinion.
Most of the content has been ugly CAS outfits, or had BB assets that aren't enough to make a suitable themed property with them. And they introduced a Country Kitchen Kit right before Cottage Living. If they released it after, people would be furious. They only have us one gameplay-based item, and it's clear that that was just a token effort and kits will mainly be focused on BB/CAS. And the gameplay kit we got was poorly balanced and will probably never be fixed.
So, yeah. The content isn't for me. And even if it was, the prices is jacked up real high in my country.
The Sims 4 hasn't introduced a new musical instrument since 2017
Kits are also a step backwards when it comes to development for the sims4. Ever since kits have been introduced it feels like larger content and larger changes to the game have become more rare.
I dont think theyre too expensive. $5 isnt too much and kind of par for the course of micropurchases for games these days. I think microtransactions are annoying but its not like EA is the only one doing them. I do think we have a lot of kits now, but i would expect there are more smaller dlc than big dlc like with any other game. Also console players or non ccusers have access to more stuff cheaper.
The content is varied and some things dont appeal to me at all, like the "menswear". But others have like couryard oasis. Some things arent worth a purchase imo, like bust the dust. I think base game should have vacuums. Ultimately I think kits shouldnt exists yet because theres still lots of the main game is missing.
I have interest in more expansions, but no expansion is going to get me what I really want out of Sims 4, which is the core of the game getting changed. So im not extremely passionate with getting more expansions because it wont fix what I want changed, but i sympathize with ppl who are bored of kits and I also want to see more expansions just out of curiosity.
I do want more cultural dlc in general, id rather see them in expansions (or better yet free update) than kits if they continue to branch out to other cultures not in their main/target audience, but if theyre only available in kits or free updates so far then thats what we have. I think buying them shows theres an audience that wants them and they should continue making more cultural items whether free or dlc. (But please dont say its because youre suddenly inclusive. Just throw us the dlc and call it a day š©)
This is how im feeling now but ofc feelings are subject to change š

Didnt a guru say on twitter that kits wont affect the releases of actual packs? (too lazy to find tweet) I already had some doubts about that, but I was willing to "wait and see". Now that tweet is starting to smell a little bit like bull excrement.
Because I can't; I keep all sigs turned off.
Bust The Dust: Merge it with Parenthood or Laundry Day and call it something else. Or perhaps with Eco Lifestyle too, not a bad idea at all.
Country Kitchen: Merge it with Cottage Living.
Throwback Fit: Perhaps merge it with Seasons? Idk.
Courtyard Oasis: Merge it with Dream Home Decorator.
Industrial Loft: Same as above.
Fashion Street & Incheon Arrival: Merge them with City Living
Blooming Rooms: Merge it with Backyard whatever stuff pack. Or even with Outdoor Retreat!! I don't know, just merge it with an outdoor themed pack!
Modern Menswear: Should be in the base game.

The beginning is interesting but Maxis is still shy and don't show us what they are really able to do yet .

The Sims 4 General DiscussionI do think that for what you get, they're a little pricy. And when I say that, I'm comparing them to things like this:
https://www.daz3d.com/metropolitan-fashion-for-genesis-81-males
In this case, it's an 8 item outfit for CG artwork using Daz Studio, with 5 textures (or "swatches") for each item. The level of detail and realism is significantly higher than I'd want or expect for a game, because they're not game assets. They're art assets. And I can get this pack for $7USD because I happen to have a Daz+ Membership. But it's 8 items. One outfit, and not even a dynamic one in this case. And when it comes time to spend my fun money, it's what I'm balancing against a kit, because they're close enough to the same price.
So I do think kits could be maybe a dollar cheaper US, with corresponding price reductions in other markets. But I'm still interested to see what sort of kits come along.
Daz sells the items created by artists. Maxis sells their own creations.
If EA sold CC content, it would be the same thing.

The Sims 4 General DiscussionDaz + are commissioned/Daz owned assets (aka "Daz Original"), which is why I specifically used Daz+ (formerly the Platinum club) I've been working with Daz Studio since 2006. I'm aware of the difference.
