Hopefully my poll questions are not too confusing XD and elaborate in comments if you wish.

I did not include an "other" because many pick an other and explain in comments and its hard to tell a general consensus. If majority pick other and not a poll option imo it defeats the purpose of a poll and might as well only be a discussion. Not that I dont want to see a discussion, but Id like a poll too :)

I wish we had more options in poll filters...like a multi select or a way to edit, to give more accurate answers or data etc... i know for some people the answer may be "both" or two answers but we have no multiselect. So try to choose the one that affects you the most or feel strongly about the most.

Kits are okay :) Not what I want the most but I am not against either.

I have all but dust and most likely not buy tennis skirt kit either :) Unless it is totally untownified :) I have enough of Mortimer Goth, Viktor Feng and Geoffrey Landgraab running around about every single world in current situational outfits :p

I still somewhat like the idea, but I haven't felt the content is really for me. I really want to see more gameplay. Also I don't own any of the kits, but I'm interested in plant kit and incheon kit which I may buy at some point.

I'm not really interested in any of the kits so far. Their themes are very niche (with a lot of them being representation behind a paywall which is another issue) and there are far too many of them, especially when they didn't even exist for the majority of this game's lifespan.

I don't like kits because of the price, content, and amount but I chose price as there has been one or two kits that have appealed but they just aren't worth Ā£5 for me. It may not seem like a lot of money but I don't feel that I would get enough enjoyment out the of the kits for that price.

For some players it's worth every penny and I'm really happy for them, but I'd be surprised if I buy any kits in the future.

I think I liked the concept of kits but the execution so far has been a little lacking, in my opinion.

They're way too expensive in my country for the little amount of content they provide. I remember that the first three kits combined had less content than recent Stuff Packs, despite costing more altogether.

Most of the content has been ugly CAS outfits, or had BB assets that aren't enough to make a suitable themed property with them. And they introduced a Country Kitchen Kit right before Cottage Living. If they released it after, people would be furious. They only have us one gameplay-based item, and it's clear that that was just a token effort and kits will mainly be focused on BB/CAS. And the gameplay kit we got was poorly balanced and will probably never be fixed.

So, yeah. The content isn't for me. And even if it was, the prices is jacked up real high in my country.

Kits don't offer me enough content and variation, there is not much point for me in dressing my sims up in different clothing, or building something different when too much feels the same for me. Packs are designed to offer a new experience and expanding the game which works better for me. Packs makes the familiar loop of my sims waking up every day and going to work more interesting.

Kits are also a step backwards when it comes to development for the sims4. Ever since kits have been introduced it feels like larger content and larger changes to the game have become more rare.

Ive changed my mind about kits. I used to hate the idea of them and swore id never purchase, but I LOVED the fashion streetwear kit.

I dont think theyre too expensive. $5 isnt too much and kind of par for the course of micropurchases for games these days. I think microtransactions are annoying but its not like EA is the only one doing them. I do think we have a lot of kits now, but i would expect there are more smaller dlc than big dlc like with any other game. Also console players or non ccusers have access to more stuff cheaper.

The content is varied and some things dont appeal to me at all, like the "menswear". But others have like couryard oasis. Some things arent worth a purchase imo, like bust the dust. I think base game should have vacuums. Ultimately I think kits shouldnt exists yet because theres still lots of the main game is missing.

I have interest in more expansions, but no expansion is going to get me what I really want out of Sims 4, which is the core of the game getting changed. So im not extremely passionate with getting more expansions because it wont fix what I want changed, but i sympathize with ppl who are bored of kits and I also want to see more expansions just out of curiosity.

I do want more cultural dlc in general, id rather see them in expansions (or better yet free update) than kits if they continue to branch out to other cultures not in their main/target audience, but if theyre only available in kits or free updates so far then thats what we have. I think buying them shows theres an audience that wants them and they should continue making more cultural items whether free or dlc. (But please dont say its because youre suddenly inclusive. Just throw us the dlc and call it a day šŸ˜©)

This is how im feeling now but ofc feelings are subject to change šŸ™‚

I still believe that these kits are just more of EA's shenanigans at work, so I dont buy kits on principle. I will not support this. A couple of the kits I do legitimately like, but if I need such content badly enough I can fill the void with cc. More importantly, it concerns me a bit that we've had 4 more kits since CL's release, with confirmed news of no upcoming EP before the year is up. And we've only had one kit with some form of new gameplay, everything else is just aesthetics.

Didnt a guru say on twitter that kits wont affect the releases of actual packs? (too lazy to find tweet) I already had some doubts about that, but I was willing to "wait and see". Now that tweet is starting to smell a little bit like bull excrement.

To me kits are like a trail on the ground made of bits of candy, and this trail offers tiny treats that may or may not appeal to everyone. Bust the Dust was like licorice for me (I hate licorice), so obviously I didn't pick it up. Courtyard Oasis was like a lovely creamy chocolate bar to me (yep, I love chocolate), so obviously I did grab that one off the trail. Candy is not a bad thing to offer, but it does seem kind of tricksy to lay down more bits while the ones following the trail are getting more and more hungry for real food.
FYI: Just because you can see my signature, don't assume that I can see yours.
Because I can't; I keep all sigs turned off. ;)

None of them appeal to me. Courtyard Oasis is really pretty but I'm not sure I'd use it enough. If there was something with a fantasy or history theme I might be tempted but everything is too modern.

Kits could be awesome, but they don't deliver interesting content. The Sims 3 Store had one gameplay set per month with wonderful items like the More Magic cauldron and crystal ball, the surfing station, functional casino tables, a caroussell etc. Where is all this in TS4? Clothes and deco stuff are not enough.

I was happy with kits until we stopped getting packs (with no explanation). Kits are not enough and stringing them out doesn't help. I've lost my enthusiasm for the game during this season of selves.

Extremely useless. Basically paid CC. I literally downloaded plant CC out of spite.

Bust The Dust: Merge it with Parenthood or Laundry Day and call it something else. Or perhaps with Eco Lifestyle too, not a bad idea at all.
Country Kitchen: Merge it with Cottage Living.
Throwback Fit: Perhaps merge it with Seasons? Idk.
Courtyard Oasis: Merge it with Dream Home Decorator.
    Industrial Loft: Same as above.
Fashion Street & Incheon Arrival: Merge them with City Living
Blooming Rooms: Merge it with Backyard whatever stuff pack. Or even with Outdoor Retreat!! I don't know, just merge it with an outdoor themed pack!
Modern Menswear: Should be in the base game.

I like kits, and I do think they have their place.

    What I like:
    • Price - I don't mind the price of kits, as Ā£5 feels reasonable to me. As long as this price does not increase, there won't be any complaints about it from me.
    • Development - I appreciate that kits do not impede the development of other packs. It's nice to know that we can still have content releases between packs, and still look forward to expansions, game packs and stuff packs as per the usual roadmap.
    • Build/Buy, Gameplay and CAS - I like that they are willing to cover all areas of the game. Personally, I enjoy the CAS and Build/Buy kits the most but it's good that gameplay kits are also on the table.

    What I dislike:
    • Niche Themes - This one is very much a love/hate thing. I do understand the reasoning behind it, but I must admit that I struggle to really connect with the majority of the themes that are chosen. For example, I absolutely adored the Throwback Fit kit, and it remains to be my favourite kit so far. I love the theme, it's totally up my street, but it's still an obscure theme that to many will not be versatile enough. I think they should have focused on more 'generic' or 'basic' themes to satisfy the masses at first, then they could have looked into more niche themes. Traditional masculine clothing, sleepwear and lingerie, and wedding attire are just a few of the popular CAS requests that I've seen. I think that if we had gotten those sorts of things to begin with, perhaps more players would have been happier with the kits on offer.
    • Balance - I mentioned that I enjoy CAS and Build/Buy kits the most, but I do think more effort should be made to balance each area out more. There's no reason why we should be getting two CAS kits in a row, or two Build/Buy kits. Each kit that's released should focus on a different area from the previous two kits to make sure that there's variety.
    Sims 4 Wish List:
    • > Option to toggle on/off random townie generation.
    • > Turn vacation worlds into residential worlds.
    • > Option to purchase separate worlds or a world pack.
    • > Sleepwear kit.
    • > Atomic age kit.

I picked price, as I think the concept would probably bug me less if it was, like, a two dollar thing, like the kind of impulse buy you'd make getting a candy bar at the check out counter. But, tbh, I've yet to see a kit with content that really compelled me or even slightly tempted me to actually pay the five dollars for it, and I do wish they'd devote their time & resources into fixing problems & expanding content they already have, or actually developing full, complete feeling expansion packs that work properly and have zero bugs upon release.

Kits seem to be becoming the focus of the development team, and that's disappointing. The vast majority of them aren't worth the asking price. Give us some real content, please.

While not every kit has been my cup of tea (*cough* bust the dust *cough*) I generally think kits are a good idea - or at least have the potential to be a good way to add things to the game that may be more niche, ideas that didn't make the cut for a pack by the slimmest of margins, or just that don't quite fit in with anything already in the pipeline.

I do think that for what you get, they're a little pricy. And when I say that, I'm comparing them to things like this:
    https://www.daz3d.com/metropolitan-fashion-for-genesis-81-males

In this case, it's an 8 item outfit for CG artwork using Daz Studio, with 5 textures (or "swatches") for each item. The level of detail and realism is significantly higher than I'd want or expect for a game, because they're not game assets. They're art assets. And I can get this pack for $7USD because I happen to have a Daz+ Membership. But it's 8 items. One outfit, and not even a dynamic one in this case. And when it comes time to spend my fun money, it's what I'm balancing against a kit, because they're close enough to the same price.

So I do think kits could be maybe a dollar cheaper US, with corresponding price reductions in other markets. But I'm still interested to see what sort of kits come along.

Daz sells the items created by artists. Maxis sells their own creations.

If EA sold CC content, it would be the same thing.

Daz + are commissioned/Daz owned assets (aka "Daz Original"), which is why I specifically used Daz+ (formerly the Platinum club) I've been working with Daz Studio since 2006. I'm aware of the difference.

I have bought 3 of the Kits so far (Throwback Fit, Incheon and Fashion Street) because the clothes in those packs were interesting to me. I like having more CAS variety in my game whenever I pick it back up. I will most likely add this to my collection.
