I don't much care for scones, which to me are just drop biscuits with pretensions of grandeur, and tend to be dry, crumbly, and bland. I'd rather have a crumpet any time.

Um, I don't really make my bed. Don't see the point of making it and then just getting in and messing everything up again. LOL. Plus, there's nothing much to make for my bed cuz the bed sheet is already surrounding the mattress (the mattress is inside the bed sheet). And I don't use blankets. So I only have my bolster and my pillow and they both are already on the right positions when I wake up. ๐ So it's like my bed is already made without me having to do anything really.
Never been there so I have no idea. I like your bed idea @DeKay but I don't live where it's warm enough to sleep with nothing over me unless it's a summer heatwave. I used to never make my bed anyway, and I don't use a top sheet, just a comforter, but then I had a moth problem for a while and after finding a moth larva on something, decided to cover my pillow and sheet up each morning with the comforter, just in case. Crumpets are sourdough which you then have to toast on a hot griddle surface, to bake them. Worth the effort though.
