Likes / Dislikes

I love the knitting activity, but I can't find knitting under an activity like :disappointed: I hope there will be more Likes and Dislike options. And a food category so we can list types of foods they like or dislike. Or a clothing option, do they like denim or dresses etc.. What about weather, can they have a favourite season? What type of TV channel do they like? sports, comedy etc...

I wish sims were capable of using more logic. Sometimes, they do ridiculous things!

@Elliandre, I agree. The likes/dislikes category is very limited...

Hah! Yes, that is very true. They need a logical behaviour overhaul. My Sim took food out of the fridge and then walked up three levels to a tiny bathroom to start preparing the meal on the counter in there, even though there were at least 10 available counters in her luxury kitchen...

I definitely agree that likes and dislikes need to be expanded upon! It seems weird that basic things such as reading aren't an option...
Also, is it just me, or do the color preferences never do anything?

I love sending my Sims to eat outside at night...but there's always lots of candles!

I agree that we should have more likes/dislikes, epically surrounding hobbies, and I love the idea of a foods category!

@Elliandre Simularity has a mod that adds knitting as a preference: https://simularity.cc/mods/other/knitting-pref/

I also recommend Helaene’s Preferences Plus mod, which fills in some of the gaps you mentioned. It just got an update the other day:

Thank you so much for this! I will certainly be downloading one or both of these mods when I get on my comp tonight!

The ridiculous things make us laugh, and that's fun.
But sometimes the ridiculous things get annoying, especially when they do them to often, like:

When they keep sabotaging their own toilets, right before they use them, and get annoyed that somebody did it.

When the children destroy their own dollhouse, and then cry because somebody destroyed the dollhouse.

When vampires go outside in the daytime and hang out in the sun for a long time, and die because of their own stupidity. Then your spellcaster brings them back to life, and they do it again, several times.

This kind of stuff is funny the first couple times they do it, but when the same sim does these things multiple times and never learns from their stupidity, it starts getting pretty old.

    Here's more :
when a sim hates a certain activity, but keeps doing it anyway.
when a sim hates eating a certain food or drink, but keeps choosing to eat or drink it.

    I wish that there wasn't a 20 likes/dislikes limit.
  • luthienrisingluthienrising Posts: 37,617 Member
I don't care a lot about the limit, but the options for activities are way, way, way too few. Why isn't Homework there for kids, for example?

I never understood this either. How can you be a bookworm, but not like reading? Or an artlover and not like going to museums? I also want added preferences for things like parties, going to a bar, going to a nightclub, hanging out with friends... etc so things like socialising, hosting parties or being at parties could be fun (or not) for sims depending on preference.
Moreover, I advise that the cart button must be destroyed!

I agree but I'd rather have first a system that made Sims avoid doing activities they dislike instead of having a sim automatically play video games and get a tense moodlet.

Yes, Nick, I'm talking about you, there's plenty of sports equipment in your house, leave that PC for work and go play some football if you're feeling bored.
    Happy simming!

I am so happy for likes and dislikes.
It's great to have sims do an activity and actually get fun from it.
I have noticed some activities that are no-brainers for being included.

I haven't played around with making them do things they dislike, but I should experiment with that.

Love these games always have but can't stand it since the newest update (the pronouns one). Ever since all my saves have a constant lag to them, every couple of seconds it's having to catch up to itself.
Making the game play frustrating and nearly impossible with how much it will freeze. Has even gotten a Sim or two of mine killed because the lag wouldn't allow me to have them get out of the sun (she was a vampire)
Don't get me wrong Ive got nothing against the use of pronouns these days (I identify as they or them myself) just since it's been added the game has been messing up left and right.
Will it ever be fixed or will the game forever be lagging and freezing?
