My Sim is Such a Nitwit …

My Sim is such a Nitwit because I clicked on a specific Toddler bed and selected read to Toddler. Odd that I got to choose which Toddler, even though there is only one in the household, but no matter. When I check on mother and child upstairs, what do I find? You guessed it. She chose a different Toddler bed in the same room. I guess, when I had to restart this family from their days at Uni, I should have cleared the stuff accumulated as they had four Toddlers and an infant when the game went kablooey. :open_mouth: Even so, she's a Nitwit.

What things have your Sim(s) done that earned them this title?

Please share.

Something recent that happened was I wanted my sim to go somewhere, and it was during a thunderstorm. I do understand why sims don't want to be outside during something like this, but mine earned the nitwit title when she got to where I wanted her to go (it was quite some distance) only for her to keep insisting to go back inside her home. All she had to do was make one step more and that would have been that but no. I had to cancel this interaction three times before she would finally listen to me.

Samantha Ottomas prioritising telling her husband a joke over keeping herself (and her unborn nooboos) from starving to death. The spaghetti was right there. Luckily, Dora was there to plead with Grim.

All I can say is, it’d better have been a really good joke... 😑

My sim autonomously flirting with her father-in-law in front of her husband. Like, it's bad enough that she'd want to commit that kind of adultery, but causing a rift between father and son in the process?

And it's not like she was an angry, disgruntled wife. She was just in a flirty mood and the game's primitive emotion system overrode all common sense.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Why do they do that?

I have a Sim I created myself still in the Bin for a very similar egregious action. In Sims3. She's still in the Bin and I have absolutely no intention of ever letting her out. So much so, I have uninstalled Sims3. LOL

My Sim invited Nitwit Sim for Winterfest dinner. Nitwit Sim does not come in the front door like everyone else, but comes in the back gate, falls in the pool and freezes/ drowns. Happy Winterfest!

Oi! Sorry to hear that. Was Nitwit on the verge of starving to death, or over tired? Yikes. Talk about buzz-kill.

Can't top those. All I have is a Sim who goes to make tea every chance she gets, and if she isn't given the chance she'll take one. Feed the toddler. No, she goes and makes herself a cup of tea. Feed the toddler. No, she sits down to read a book. Feed the toddler. No, she throws her own breakfast in the trash instead of eating it. Give the toddler a bath. No, she goes and makes herself a cup of tea. Give the toddle a bath. No, she's going to finish her cup of tea. Give the toddler a bath. No, she's going to make herself another cup of tea. The tea machine is on the fritz? Good!

When she was brought to life, was she still pregnant?

Have no idea. Didn’t know what happened until Grim turned up. It’s all good, though. My guy was well equipped with Death Flowers.

One time, one of my Vampires decided he was going to go outside IN THE SUNLIGHT to pet/play with the family dog. I'm like "WHAT ARE DOING?!" (yea, I yell at the computer screen) I get him back inside, try to get him to play his piano....nope, he heads back outside to the dog. I get him back inside, try to get him to call the dog into the house. Nope, back out he goes. "CALL THE DOG INTO THE HOUSE, YOU ❤️❤️❤️❤️!"...Got him back in the house again, same thing...won't call the dog in, back out he goes. I was just going to let him die but decided to try one last time. I get him back into the house and this time he calls the dog to him. The dog comes in, he walks away and goes to the basement where his big TV is and watches a movie...

Vampire Ai is horrible. They don’t even bother to try to get out of the sun, even when they are close to death. One of my born vampires, simply just a teen, died from sunlight when it was approaching night. He had cover close by. His sister was there to watch it, alongside many other people. Such a shame.

Just yesterday, my screen shot to a sim. I automatically thought somebody died, but no, it was one of my sims from another household completing her vampire transformation and just happened to be in the same general location as the household I’m playing. So she turns..and starts burning to a crisp, once again, the sun barely shining. She just stood there. Being burnt. Thankfully she ran off somewhere, cause I was kinda scared she was going to die right after she turned as she’s important to that families story.

My story is more about the player (me) being a Nitwit, but I'm happy to let my Sim take the blame!
Nelly decided to go for a hike in Granite Falls in the snow without her cold weather clothes on. Someone (me again) didn't notice the warning notifications and Nelly promptly froze to death.

In my defense i only just purchased the Seasons EP and am still getting used to the weather mechanisms. (I decided poor Nelly didn't deserve to die due to my carelessness and reloaded a previous save to give her another chance - and warmer clothes!).

I look forward to your weather related Nitwit posts! Haha.
(I hope you enjoy it, I am. Haven't gotten through all the seasons yet, so still lots of Nitwit stories ahead for me too, I'm sure!)

Thank you! The first years of Seasons release, I didn’t want it at all because I felt like it was so easy for the sims to die. Obviously my heart has changed. We’ll see how correct I was.

Yes, this one takes a little patience! I'm very leery of lightning, so I'm glad my Sims are sensible about it, and I don't send them outside if I can help it. However, when you have a day-long thunderstorm and you're playing off-the-grid with an outhouse, there's a point at which it's absolutely necessary, and I can't let the llamas and cows starve in a stinky barn.

What drives me up a wall is when they decide to do things outside that they can do inside. I click on a chair, tell my Sim to sit there, and then have them read a book in their inventory, do cross stitch from the inventory, or knit. They immediately get up and go out into the thunderstorm to sit in a chair outside. I've actually had to lock the door to keep them inside.
I just want things to match. :'(

My Global Superstar was on his way inside after his scheduled concert, photoshoot, et al were done. He was at the base of his front steps when he got zapped! Happily, he was charred and dazed, only. Not that Sims die of such things (so far never in my game, at least). But I found it odd that after he showered, he chose to sit in a chair on his back patio. Was he just trying to prove to himself he wasn't afraid? LOL You tell me.

Well, of course he went back outside...He had 2 choices: 1)Possibly get zapped again 2)Stay inside with his unruly, noisy daughters....I think he chose wisely...LOL

I aged them up to Toddler and Harmony gives her father Toddlertude. I have to laugh because she refused the bubble bath. Just because. And he got upset at her defiance. (Okay, so maybe he was tired after his very busy day.) I always marvel at my Sim parents when they forget they're grown — and in charge. He stomped his foot as he ranted. She had the Brawl cloud in her thought bubble and pitched a fit, too. Oi, these two are going to have tumultuous times ahead. :open_mouth: I love the 'built-in' drama of this game. Most of the time I don't even have to try. It just happens. LOL

ETA: This is Harmony and her Dad. Not at the point where she refused the bath, but you can almost see her temperament.

My simself starved to death. she had no house (i just decided to watch what happened if I sat back and did nothing with full autonomy on) so she went to a park and used the grill to cook. made one plate of food. placed it on the ground. then another, and did the same thing, and so on, until she died of starvation. with at least four plates of food on the ground around her.

I have a face-palm moment that just happened in my game. In another post, they are talking about aliens, and it got me in the mood to play one of my alien sims that have been in my library for 3 years. Her back story is that she (a teenager) is royalty from a distant alien world. Because of a war, and the enemy closing in, she was shipped off to earth, or where ever it is called for the Sim's home planet. She is supposed to stay incognito until it is safe for her to return. On the very first day, she has a couple of neighbors show up as the welcoming committee. What does she do? The very first chance she gets she blows her cover. The sim is angry, and she is totally embarrassed over her actions. I'm hoping she learns from this and doesn't do that again.

@GalacticGal thats the irony of the whole thing. I am a bit more than a chunkster. I eat more than I should, and usually things I shouldn't (getting better with that. slowly.) this was a while back, when I was just fooling around with some things. obviously didn't save, lol. but that file is purely for building, play testing, and for starting new save files if I want clear worlds. I cleared ever lot and evicted every one, except my sims self. who maybe has a pool. if I saved recently in my attempt to create an above ground pool.
