Your guess is as good as mine. I don't play Sims 3 or the earlier versions nowadays. Do a bit of internet research in the online magazines or on Twitter. There's a lot there.

I would say that having Sims 4 really prepares you for any Windows update. It's best to wait until most of the bugs are ironed out before you install it! It's officially released on October 5th 2021 as I saw on a tweet this morning so I have changed my setting for updates to as long ahead as I can just in case they sneak it in without my permission. I was a "Insider" for Windows 10 and went through the problems with that.

EA/Maxis has always released a new version of Sims around each Windows upgrade from what I remember so maybe a new Sims 5 or whatever will be released after it. Sims 4 was one of the first games to be tested with Windows 10 so I expect it will be ok.

I'm reading though that some apps won't work unless you are connected to the internet. That might change of course.

To see if your machine will cope....

I took the little quiz that Windows offered. Apparently my gaming rig isn't up to snuff, so I can't have Windows 11. Face/palm.

Windows 11 removes features and adds phone features to make the OS more like your phone. Here is what's in it and what's not.

I'm glad I hopefully won't qualify, lol, since my pc doesn't have 1TB SDD. Maybe they won't bug me like they did about Wind 10 nag.

To answer your question, Windows 11 is all about Xbox games, so if it were me I wouldn't change my OS at all if the game is great on the OS you are running right now. Because Windows 11 is more about chatting, streaming, Phone features, and Xbox games.

Windows 11 looks like it's Windows 10 underneath, so I'm guessing Sims 3 should work. The Sims 1 and Sims 2 work on Windows 10 (after some tweaking), so they'll probably work on 11 too.

Windows 10 is supported until 2025. There is no need to rush out and get Windows 11 if you aren't an Xbox player. Any OS at first release is going to be full of MS bugs and short fallings. Some CPUs are not supported and the list is long. Some GPUs are not supported and the list is long. Older games are not going to like DirectX12 either. But if someone is bent on getting Windows 11 good luck because what you get is not for everyone who uses a pc for games and other things. Many things are gone that some people like, and you can't customize the task bar nor move it. Everything is in the center of it, like your phone. It comes with tech to support your phone, and Xbox, that's about it.

I'm on Win7 and I'll be staying on Win7 until they rip it from my cold dead hands.

If it ain't broke, why fix it? I've had zero problems with Win7, so I'm not going to change over to Win10 (or now Win11) just because Microsoft tells me I should. I'll continue using Win7 until it's no longer feasible to do so.... by that time they'll probably be out with Windows 19. :D

Microsoft can shove they're forced OS updates every few years where the sun don't shine.
