As I suggested, I am back with the third attempt. Please be so kind to give your opinions.

Another Angle of the backyard. If you look closely you can see my Rock Star climbing out of the pool:
As you can likely see, I've moved the house closer to the fence in front and centered it better on the lot. I added a bit of whimsy, which I hope you catch.
The big house on the hill is his only sister's house.
Don't be shy, do speak out. And thank you so much. I tried to incorporate as many of the wonderful ideas that resonated with me. You are all so very creative.

Oh but there is a fence going through the back stairs.

Ah good
Whenever I'm building, I like to try and keep the look and feel of the lot as close to the world style as much as possible. For example, I kept the lots I built in Sulani quite traditional, and I avoided modern styles so that my builds blended in with the world. I did the same when I was researching cottages and the Cotswolds.
It looks like you're building on the same lot as I am, 3 Olde Mill Lane right?
For this lot, I didn't want to fence in the entire build, because there's already a huge wall surrounding the outskirts of the area, so I opted to corner off certain areas instead, and make it appear as if the walls have been crumbling. I mainly used the debug walls for this. I also avoided trying to make things look neat and perfect, so I especially love how the debug walls are all crooked and curved.
I used some more debug objects to give the illusion of a 'fence' - so basically, if there was an area that I wanted to separate but didn't want to keep using the same items, then I'd change it up and use logs, shrubs, hedges and flowers.
Overall, I tried to keep things looking more natural than manicured, and I'm really happy with the result. I don't know if that's the kind of style you were going for, but I hope it's offered some insight.

I spotted it! the house and landscaping looks fantastic GalacticGal
What I like is it looks good AND looks functional. (gameplay-wise) Nicely done.
Thank you for your input. I may move the Chicken Coop, but the diving platform can't be closer to the footpath, the pool isn't long enough at that end. As for the sun loungers, my Sims don't sunbathe. (If I can't, they're not allowed to, either. LOL) Skin cancer runs in my family, I was ordered out of the sun about thirty years ago. I don't miss laying around in the sun one little bit. Besides, where would I put the garden?
Again, thank you for your thoughtful remarks. I will strongly consider changing places with the Toddler play thing and the Chicken Coop.
Thank you so much!
I would but I have no clue how to do that! It was suggested early on (Round One Poll) that I add trees that were taller than the house and these were the only ones I could find.

Thank you for your insight. I'm thinking that the first round of pictures inspired some to suggest the taller trees to help balance out the lot. When I had taken in all of the suggestions, I finally did what I meant to do in the beginning. I moved the entire lot closer to the front boundary and centered it on the lot better. This, perhaps, changed the need for the very tall trees. I did try to be discerning, agreeing that trees indigenous to a location, should be used, but I was stuck on the 'make the trees taller than the house' opinion.(Since this was suggested by more than one person.) I will see about arranging the patio tables to accommodate another set of stairs. It's a bit much to ask a Toddler, after all, to take the longer route, no?

You shrink them by holding Shift and ]. Also there are few trees that came with Cottage Living in the debug menu. Some of them are huge. I think there's an oak tree from the base game that's pretty big as well.
If they don't sunbathe, you could make an indoor pool so your sims could use the pool year round. You could also add some space for indoor gardening by the pool area. Regarding the chicken coop, you could make it a feature in your vegetable garden outside so you don't have a separate enclosure just for the chickens.
I would also switch the pool area and chicken coop. Like put the pool over by the steps and the chicken coop to the right side.
I would consider making the foundation stone.
I would replace the very tall skinny trees with some that are oak that came with Cottage living. You can find them by typing in bb.showliveeditobjects. I just think some bushier trees would look nice with the build.

You really need those lawn chairs, don't you. Where inside would you put the pool? Basement, maybe? I won't gut the inside, that doesn't make sense. But, I do thank you for your input, all the same. Let's just say we agree to disagree, okay?

No need for lawn chairs if you aren't going to use them. The pool could stay where it is, just covered. My input is just a suggestion, you asked for input, but if it doesn't fit your aesthetics you don't need to implement any of it.
I am very grateful for your input and I wrote what I did because I didn't want you to think I merely blew it off. And to let you know why I'm not going with your ideas. Doesn't mean for a minute that I didn't appreciate your thoughts, that I asked for. Thank you.

I made the foundation stone, and I switched out the trees, too. Removed the jungle trees, and the ficas just outside of the gates. I'll post the final picture.
Here is Erik Cantrell's house, as it stands, now: Please note I did change the foundation to stone, as opposed to brick.
