Decades Challenge Rules | Decades Challenge Thread
I will share my family's timeline of events here. If you read, thank you. If you are tempted to play the challenge for yourself, have fun!
1890 - Newlyweds Gregory & Sarah Hawkin's move into their new countryside homestead to begin their new lives. Gregory was hired as a substitute teacher. Sarah is pregnant.
1891 - Sarah gave birth to a son. His name is James. Sarah is pregnant again with hardly any recovery time from Jame's birth. She needs frequent rest. This pregnancy feels harder.
1892 - Sarah gave birth to twin sons. Walter and William are their names. No wonder she was so exhausted all the time. James grew into a silly blond-haired toddler. Sarah has her hands full.
1893 - Sarah is pregnant for the third time. There is something not normal about this one. She is on bedrest.
1894 - Tragedy! Young William dies of drowning in the homestead's large pond. Sarah gives birth early to triplets. Only one survives. A daughter named, Pearl. Sarah continues on bedrest to recover.
1895 - Pearl has survived and is now an angelic toddler. Sarah has recovered and just gave birth to another son named, Carl. James is a child now and will be the first to go to grade school. He is excited.
1897 - Sarah fell pregnant again. Multiples must run in her family because she birthed twins, David and Daniel. She now has 5 living sons and 1 daughter.
1900 - The turn of the century brings good things and not so good things. Electricity and indoor plumbing! James, Walter, Pearl and Carl are attending grade school. David is too young for school. David's twin, Daniel is fatally injured in a farming accident.
1900(b) - In the fall of this year tragedy struck the family again. Thankfully none of the family died. They did lose most of their garden, half of their chickens and their entire house was destroyed in the fire. Because they could no longer work the land, they lost their homestead contract and were forced to move. They now live on a smaller plot of land nearby to begin again.
