    First of all thank you for giving us the opportunity to give feedback.

    When it comes to a higher level of challenge and depth, there is one important thing to consider: OPTIONS . Not all players want a challenging micromanagement game, some players want a story telling environment. So please allow us to turn off any means to make the game more challenging. The best options are those which we can set per lot (lot challenges and laundry system) or per sim (fame system)

    Here is what I would consider a valuelable adding.
    - Memories. Sims should be able to remember their life. it is crazy that we can see how many times a sim peed himself (in the statistics in simbology) but not the names of former boyfriends/girlfriends. What should be more important in a persons life?
    - Travelling costs money. It is great for sims to be able to travel the world but it should have consequences. For example no cost for travelling inside a neighbourhood, a small bus fare to ride to another neighbourhood in the world and a costly place ticket to travel to another world.
    - No limitless free wardrobe. It would be great if sims actually had to pay for clothing instead of getting everything for free. A system like sims 2 would be great, where sims start with only owning the clothes assigned in CAS, and buying every additional outfit.

    Some smaller details what would improve the game:
    - allow us to kick a sim out of a group conversation
    - allow us to limit walkby sims to sims of the world you are in.

    Lastly I would like to tell you I am very happy about fairies and werewolves being mentioned in the last maxis monthly. It is great to have something to look forward to.

    Note: I had to type this out in advance because I don't have enough time on august 19th.

    Sul sul and thank you for listening.
    I really really love the missions that npcs can give in the new cottage expansion and hope to see more of that option in every pack going forward. It was optional, fun, thought out, and encouraged me to explore the world and meet people with a purpose to it.

    More of that. Missions yes.
    Thank you

    @EA_Lanna I feel like adding more in depth story progression would make things seem less controlled and more realistic. Someone also mentioned that relationships are one-sided. It would be nice if other sims would initiate social interactions such as hitting on someone or proposing ect... I would really like to see the memory system come back to make things more realistic. It gave the sims a little more depth. I guess mostly more depth into story progression and random events to make it more realistic to real life challenges would really up the game.

    First of all thank you for this opportunity as the Sims has been my favorite game since the Sims 1 and all I want is to continue to play a great game. That being said it is very true that this game is the simplest and easiest in the franchise. While making many features more streamlined makes the game easier to pick up to new players, it is alienating long time fans as the base game does not hold our attention for long. I personally think that adding challenge and more depth would fix that because the Sims 4 has potential, but it needs more work, That being said here are my suggestions:

    1. To start off, one common challenge many simmers try is Rags to Riches where you start with a single sim, move them into an empty lot then set their money to zero. While this is a very small change, having the Sims Team embrace the fact that players want for a challenge by adding a simple "Rags to Riches" button when moving into a lot would be amazing! It would really show that the team is embracing what the community wants and does in their games.

    2. Every sim can start a relationship with any sim in a couple of minutes. While I would love to see a chemistry system (similar to likes/dislikes) I understand that this might be difficult for a base game update. At the very least, make a relationship gain cooldown. You can only earn X amount of relationship points in a sim day to make things more realistic when starting a relationship.

    3. Every sim can start a relationship with any married sim. While I love the fun storylines, this should honestly be more difficult than just flirt with them 10 times and then convince them to leave their spouse.

    4. Emotions do not significantly affect sims ability to do things. As far as I am aware, only the uncomfortable emotion stops sims from using skill building objects. Make sims gain skills slower when tense, or gain fitness faster but parenting slower when angry, or charisma and acting faster when confident. It will give us motivation to use the many objects that put your sim in a specific emotion to help build skills.

    5. Aspirations are tutorials for each pack instead of a true aspiration. Some are more challenging than others, but when an aspiration milestone is to sit on the beach X amount of times it diminishes the accomplishment a player gets when completing these. Either change all the aspirations to actually be difficult, or add a lifetime wish (similar to previous games) that are actually challenging. Like meet your great grand children, reach level 10 of a career, things of that sort. One singular goal to reach for that takes more than a few sim hours would give meaning to a sims life and keep the player playing for longer.

    6. Careers can be too easy at times. I miss the emotion requirement for careers as it gave use to the emotion manipulating objects. Additionally the work from home assignments are FAR too easy. There should either be an assignment that takes the time comparable to the time the sim is at work, or several things to do throughout the day so you aren't earning a full day's pay just by sitting in front of the computer for a sim hour.

    7. Random rewards give sims far too much money. This is less so a problem with the base game, but things like the dust bunnies giving 10k golden frogs just doesn't make the game fun. Since there are no negative random life events or things to do with money [more on this later] having money is not fun in the game. The game is really only fun when your sim is scraping by.
    --> On that note objects are getting progressively cheaper and cheaper each pack. A window should not cost the same as a houseplant. Making objects more expensive would give a reason to want to have money in the game.

    8. I am aware that this was intended to be for the base game but while on the topic of difficulty we need to talk about discovery university. The college gameplay is really difficult and I love that, but why is college so cheap!? I love that there is a Repo man feature, but I have never seen it in game because it barely costs anything to go to university. At least make each course cost 1000 simoleons each?

    9. One of the biggest reason why people put down the game after only a couple of hours is because there is no late-game content. Once your sim has money, there is nothing to do with it. Unless you want to play as a small business owner (restaurant, shop, vet clinic) there is nothing to do with motherlodes of money. A good way to help this is give us the ability to purchase a vacation home, or purchase community lots (like in the Sims 3) to give players something to do with money.

    10. There are no bad life events that randomly happen to your sims. One of the most memorable moments in my sims history is when I was playing sims 3 and I brought a family to the festival in the park and the mother sim died during a pie eating contest. Then when the father was trying to bring the mother back to life on the philosophers stone, he got turned into gold. So then the two children were raised by ghost parents. It is such an interesting story that wrote itself. If I wanted this in the sims 4 I would have to intentionally kill the sims or make ghost parents. I want bad things to happen in the game to make things more interesting and me remember a save file instead of forgetting the family and making a new rags to riches save a few hours later.
    --> Side note for more bad life events. This is a slippery slope because you do not want to add triggering or damaging events into a game that might cause emotional trauma in people who have experienced this in the past. That doesn't mean that these things shouldn't be added, just make them optional. Even if I have to go into the settings every new game to "enable burglary". Bad things happen in life and if this is a life simulator, bad things should happen in it as well, even if they need to be enabled.

    In conclusion the Sims 4 is an incredibly easy game. Some of the things I suggested need to be implemented in the game to increase depth and challenge, but others can be entirely optional. Overall my suggestion is to add a "Hard Mode" menu in the settings menu. In this menu you can turn on specific hard mode features like:
    - Slower relationship gain, but faster relationship decay
    - Slower skill building overall
    - Double the price of all build/buy items
    - Double the price of bills
    - Double the price of college
    - Double the chance of death
    - Enable burglary

    Thank you again for giving us this opportunity of feedback. And if you are still reading I just wanted to let you know that I think the changes the Sims team has made in the last few years towards increasing the quality of the game, improving depth, adding diversity, and community engagement have been amazing. Please keep up the great work! ♥♥♥♥

    I have some ideas! Also thank you to the Sims Team for this opportunity for the community to talk about our ideas, wants and needs for the game! I been a simmer since I was about 8 or 9 playing The Sims bustin out, urbz and so on in the franchise over time ( 26 now and still playing almost everyday!)

    1. To begin I’d love to see new and also updated aspirations with more rewarding, memory system for storylines. I think Kirasims4 the modder has some great examples and a lot of modded aspirations. Please keep up working with some modders, these collabs between the sims team and our community modders have been great so far.

    2. Townie storylines and playable events (similar to sims 2), more chaos! I think someone mentioned townies initiating relationships whether friendly or romantic, business etc (Random occurring events like robberies, actual alien abductions and mystery like in sims 2, more town challenges for base game and other expansion pack towns similar to what we have with hedford on badgley by running errands for townies.

    3. For the base game, please strength familiar bonds like cousins, step parents, in law etc and some dialogue/storyline around those. Family and/or Romantic challenges. For example, a single sim may want or be suggested by family to find a partner. They can try online dating or seeing a matchmaker (seen in Sims 2&3) This can overlap with aspirations and some newly added or refreshed traits. The sims currently lack in personality and I can see new traits being fully charged to showcase the sims both playable and npc’s personalities. I think I saw someone on Twitter mention Hot headed sims will pick fights with people when angry, challenge them to fights randomly, lash out or erratic sims burst out in laughter or screams randomly. They do this now somewhat but let’s get creative with new animations and more randomness/triggers. In Cottage Living a good example of this is Agnes Crumplebottoms constant mean mood and bag swatting trigger when seeing romantic interactions. Loved this!

    Lastly, just want to say thanks again for listening!

    P.S shameless plug but please work on more supernatural content a la sims 3 supernatural! It was so good! :-)

    I want deeper relationships (more relationship types, more complicated relationships, one sided crush’s, and chemistry systems- both romantic and platonic)
    Not sure if this is new content or improving the base game. Confusing rules

    Honestly, at this time there's only a few small things I'd like to have added to the game. But the very most important one is the continuation of the bug fixes. Gardens are still broken. This was supposedly fixed in a recent patch but my plants still revert back to the planted stage. The lag and random sim jumping is an important one. I feel like my sims have adhd at times. They often stop actions to sniff rooms or just seem to forget what they are doing sometimes and cancel all of the cued actions that are set up for them. The sims getting out of bed to pass out is still a common issue. Secondly, I feel like a mood overhaul would be awesome. Feeling fine emotions shouldn't cover a sad moodlet such as the loss of a loved one. Or a smashed finger from handiness shouldn't rule out other valid emotions.
    The whims system is amazing but it should have whims that go along with their life goals and wishes. Not buy a bee box if you want to be a business person for example.
    I miss some of the features from old games like school busses, alarm clocks, sleep cuddling etc. With the way the game automatically speeding up, there should be a way to set an alarm. Even if it's modernized by updating the phone system to have an alarm on it that would wake your sim up so you have time to eat, brush your teeth and get ready for the day. Part of the school experience would be to run to catch the bus in the morning. And having to walk to school if you miss that bus. Adding in random things for good grades like "Grandpa sent 100 simoleons for good grades." Or "Your sim is failing. More work is needed to catch up." The attraction system from past games. This sim loves make up and dark hair. They don't like smelly sims. They like a sim with the handiness skill. etc. System to add fears. This sim is afraid to lose his/her job, this other sims is afraid of their house getting sick. Another sim is afraid they will lose their spouse. That sort of thing.

    Thank you for giving a safe place for people to discuss what they have been thinking and taking the time to listen. I love how the sims team gives us a place to do this. Most game communities don't. I think simmers are a bit spoiled in this department.

    Lot Challenges:

    I was excited to see this system introduced and very much enjoy the option to add difficulty levels that it brings. In particular, having no limit to how many challenges a lot can have was an excellent decision as I resisted all suggestions by players to make things lot specific due to the 3 trait limit.
    I'd like to see this system expanded to add things which some simmers feel occur too rarely or conversely, too often, in their regular play. For example, I'd love to see vampire breakins as a lot challenge and the chance of a breakin with it to be increased. In over 5000 hours of game play, with my sims regularly interacting with vampires I have only had 4 breakins. The chance of alien abduction could be another one added to the lot challenge system as some simmers find the current ways to prevent an abduction too difficult to use.

    Romance:

    Our sims have multiple places to woohoo but extremely limited options to simply show love and affection. Couples cuddling in their sleep would be a touching addition, along with slow dancing and other things suggested in this thread.
    Related to this, an attraction system to make the choice of partner feel more personal per sim would be a welcome addition as well as provide some challenge.

    Reactions. Reactions. Reactions

    Take Agatha for example, she hit my sim with a purse after finishing her vows to be married.

    I LOVED IT!!

    I want sims to react to things more and not just by a thought bubble. I want relationships to increase/decrease from it. I want my sim to get a drink poured on her when she flirts with a married man. I want a sim to hate mine and tell my spouse when she’s caught cheating. I want lowered reputation when I decide to streak in a park. I want the family and friends of a dead sim to react when I dedeathify them. I want bad dancing to cause other sims to be embarrassed for me. I want everything my sim does to be judged by other sims. I want pop ups of sims saying they are ashamed of how I’ve been acting. I want moodlets from witnessing cheating or being caught cheating. I want consequences for how I choose to play the game. It would add so much depth to my gameplay. I spent sim weeks getting a teen to be a spellcaster to bring her sister back to life for no one to react to it. I had my sims sister marry her boyfriend and move to sulani for not one moodlet and for all their relationships to be perfect. I want consequences in the form of reactions. Please! I think of the craziest story lines just for no one to be affected. I want them to. I want kids to be angry they have a new step father. Please please please add reactions. Agatha was a perfect start, I want more of her spread across all of the sims.

    I also really miss the gossip system and story progression

    Hello Sims Team,

    I don't have much to add that hasn't already been discussed by my fellow Simmers. One thing I haven't seen is adding more depth and challenge within family play. I think the easiest way to do this would be to incorporate playable infants and their associated skills challenges.

    Honestly, as soon as an infant is born, I age them up because there is no use and no challenge - nothing interesting - with the existing "infants as objects." I have more fun and find it more challenging to play families in earlier Sims versions and even the Sims Freeplay app. I would like parents to be able to rock their infants in the rocking chairs, have their infants crawl, play with them, et cetera.

    I know this is not a wish list but playable infants is something the Sims 4 community has been asking about for years. The lack of them makes the Sims 4 somewhat inferior to earlier versions, which is not how technology and games should develop and progress.

    Thanks for reading!

    Thanks for this opportunity! I divided my suggestion into 3 categories. FYI, I enjoy the gameplay, I love to build & I have fun creating Sims.

    A. Gameplay
    1. Extended Family Tree
    I really like that we are able to unlock achievements in the game, especially when I managed to unlock certain achievements with my Sims. It really gives me a sort of like an accomplishment as I play the game. However, to add more meaningful experience to our gameplay, especially the generational play, it would be so cool to have the family relationship to be extended to relatives as well, which includes the ancestors.

    For example, I play more than 4 generations, sadly, the family relationships have been cut out. Other than that, some of us are playing Sims with multiple households in one saved file. So, adding this to the base game, will encourage more Simmers to enjoy & creating "drama/story" among each household. If this feature is going to be added to the game, it will also be so helpful for us to trace back our Sims history. As of now, I use a spreadsheet to keep all my Sims info so that I could trace all of them. You know, I have a vampire Sims, soon she will be left alone without being acknowledged by her great great grandchildren as a family! :'(

    2. Aspiration Short + Long term
    As of now, we are able to switch the aspiration as we pleased. This feature is pretty cool. However, it will be even better if we can have an aspiration challenge where it allow us to randomise the aspiration and giving the Sims a must complete aspirations. Say, a long term aspiration. This will allow us to get the Sims to work hard on that particular aspiration.

    3. Likes/Dislikes
    I'm so thankful that finally, we have this feature added! TBH, I was expecting a better dislikes/likes rather than using the skills. I was expecting that the Sims should be able to like an action, feature, or certain activity. For example, a Sims can like to fight, or other Sims with red hair, or even swimming, dancing, or walking for example, just like the list that we have in the club feature. That is what I would consider as a hobby, likes/dislikes or even as an indication of an attraction towards other Sims. Plus, the colours only work on the BB, not on their clothes. So, I wish that this feature can be updated & added with new features that will be more meaningful to a Sim & us, player.

    4. Difficulty level
    TBH, as of now, for me, playing the Sims are pretty easy as I know the tips & tricks to enjoy the gameplay even without a cheat. Other than that, I don't enjoy all the existing challenges like 100 babies, etc. because I would prefer to control & manage the expectation while playing my own game. That being said, if the game added a toggle on the difficulty level, I would think that it will give us more interesting immersion as we play with our Sims. I know that the life span can be considered as a toggle to a difficulty level, but it doesn't really make the game harder than it is, especially when playing generational play. They eventually will have the money, family, house, etc.

    B. Building
    1. Room Challenge
    The lot challenge is amazing! Yet, it will be even better if we can have a room challenge too, where we can add traits to it. With this feature, it will make each house/building so unique just like the Sims since we can have layers of traits added to it. For example, having a haunted lot house + lot challenge, then adding in the room (say, with spooky trait). :D>:) Even better, since we can share the room & upload it to the gallery. It will be so fun as every Simmers can share their mystery room with everyone!

    2. Floorplan challenge
    What if, there's a set of floor plan generated by the game added so we could use it to create a build challenge? This is not only going to help the builders, but also encouraging the rest of the Simmers to consider building their own house based on the floor plan. I personally enjoy all aspects of the games in the Sims, and I wish that a lot of other Simmers to enjoy & exploring their own potential too!

    C. CAS
    1. Lore add-on
    Little bird says that we're going to have an update to the existing townies. It sounds great, but I'm honestly a little bit skeptical on the execution. However, I personally think that the lore feature would be an amazing add on to the CAS. Not like the story or anything that we can write in the description, but more on the effect of the lore to the Sims, for example, an ancient vampire or a black widow. With this lore attached to the Sims, it gives the other Sims a different reaction towards that particular Sims. This will allow more in-depth interaction between the Sims and giving the Sims a unique personality.

    And the rest, I've already read a lot of interesting idea & feedback. I hope that the Sims team will consider taking all these suggestions to add more meaningful & beautiful gameplay for all of us.

    Thank you!

    Okay, I'm not sure what is meant baby no content requests because a lot of the things that would add more depth and challenge to the game are essentially things we do not have which by definition is new content. So how much do you really want out feedback? I'm just gonna let you know what I personally think the game lacks and what would fix it.

    1) world specific features - the townies, quests, and LORE from Cottage Living, the conservationist career and mermaids from Island Living, the eco-footprints, neighborhood action plans, and how they effect your neighborhood with overlays and buildings that change are all world specific and we can't play with any of it (at least for some not to their fullest extent) outside of the worlds that they came with. If you really wanna add depth to the game this needs to change and we need to be able to play around with these features in every world! ESPECIALLY THE LORE!
    2) live mode predictability - more or less pretty much the majority of people play in ultra-fast mode because quite frankly live mode is boring to watch. The animations lack character and liveliness as well as just being pretty basic. There's none of that comedy or suggestiveness which put The Sims on the map to begin with. Playing The Sims used to be unpredictable you never knew what you were gonna get interacting with others or just leaving the house. It was HECTIC in the most fun and playful ways! I would suggest bringing back literally every animation and bit of that from TS2 or y'know maybe going back to play it and take inspiration from that. Hell, it's also irritating to watch sims not make mistakes and drop knives, bottle, or trip and slid off the treadmill after they gain like 2 skill points. People make mistakes, they fall, they drop things, IT'S LIFE. Are we really playing with life if the comedic aspects of our sims lives which is part of the reason that made the game so successful in the first place goes away just as quickly? This things need to be far more probable than they are now and should not just magically disappear after gaining 2 skill points.
    And now that I think about animations, why are counters and cabinets just decorations? They used to have animations to go with them. They were actually used. Let's get on it and bring it back.
    3) storytelling - to put it mildly there really is none. There are no consequences for your actions, any sense of challenge in getting to know, or having romantic relationships. It all happens within like 5 minutes. There's no real sense that you're building a story whatsoever. A couple things that would really help with all that is a chemistry system with Turn ons/off, zodiac signs, favorites a Memories system with special event cut scenes, and story progression. And don't forget the LORE we need lore!
    4) danger - again there is none. No random burglars breaking into your house, and no unpredictable ways for our sims to face the grim reaper unless we are forcing it. Again there's no consequences for our actions. Like what happens when you traumatize your sims too much? Nothing instead of having that imaginary doctor show up. Think piece question: how does one manage to traumatize their sims in TS4 if they don't have wants or fears? Or what about when you don't take care of needs like social? We don't have the social bunny show up, our sims don't die of loneliness. It's the unpredictability rearing it's ugly again and part of it comes from consequences to our actions as we play.
    5) ages - let's be real babies are objects and everything up to becoming a young adult has no depth or truly any gameplay at all or in the teens case, gameplay that differentiates it from YA and makes them different or feel special AKA worth playing. Babies need to be improved. Toddlers, Kids, and Teens need more gameplay and things that make these ages unique. Cuz as it stands toddlers and kids only have the little imagination animations along with teaching toddlers to walk and talk and teens pretty much have a limited amount of adult interactions. Not like we have cars to teach them how to drive or they go through puberty and get acne.
    6) aspirations and traits - aspirations are basically just easily done and even more easily cheated quests that walk you through certain features rather than actually being something to strive for. And traits don't actually change the way your sims act in the world or interact with it, they're basically hobbies and semi-permanent emotions that help you maneuver through aspirations easier. You used to have to put in real work to achieve aspirations and had the aspiration meter to help you gain rewards to help you. Aspirations like Strangerville should be in the quest book instead.

    This is what more depth looks like to me.

    Hi! Thanks for dedicating space for this discussion!

    1. My main suggestion is adding more depth to relationships with other sims. For example, I would love if the sims you're in a romantic relationship with could ask YOUR sim to marry THEM, be THEIR partner, etc. I know they can ask our sims out on dates, and I think expanding on that would be really helpful. I also think adding more relationship options in CAS like TS3 had would help add more dimension into the game. Adding depth to the family tree would also be helpful - like adding step-parents for example (it only shows up as care dependent if you choose to). Also, after a few generations in, even though certain things like great-grandparents shows up in the family tree, it doesn't actually show up in the sim panel.

    2. Being able to adjust how long each life stage lasts would be helpful as well. Having that customization would help in adding depth to family gameplay - I often find myself wanting to customize siblings life stages so they have more time as children/teens, while not having to set everyone's lifespan to long. While you can choose to age them up any time with the birthday cake in game or use cheats to age down, I think being able to actually set the ages and see that progress would add so much depth and add a little bit more structure. This would also help individualize each sim. The challenge disappears when lifespan is long/aging is off. I think there should at least be a medium in between normal and long lifespan, but I think customization would really add a lot.

    3. Adding the wants/fears system also would help add more personality to each sim!

    Thanks Sims team!

    Dear sims team. I would love to see an improvment on the memorie system in the game. The current one is hard to find and is overly complicated to use. You also don't see an effect of the memories in the gameplay. I would love for it to be easier to find and use durring gamleplay, and have some events be automatically saved such as weddings and births. It would also be great if the allready made sims had some memories stored such as in the sims 2.
    I would also love to see an improvment on the whims system as I find them very random and and don't give any gameplay. It would also be cool to have wants and fears back.
    It would also be cool to have favoritt foods added to the likes and dislikes system, and have traits such as vegitarian and lactose intollerent be seperated from the traits system.

    Hello! I shared some ideas that I tagged The Sims 4 in on Twitter. My Twitter ID is @Frostbitten007

    1. Please add more to the whims system. I was disappointed that you quit adding new whims. I enjoyed doing the whims. Also maybe add some new items to the reward shop. Also career rewards like we had in TS2 and TS3 that can be purchased with points. Not just unlocking new items in buy mode.

    2. Please change the emotion system. My sims are always bipolar and change moods like a Barbie changes clothes. I liked the system from TS2 where you could be in the red emotion and have funny reactions, be in the yellow, or be in the red. I also liked the wants and needs from TS3, Please bring that system back. Also astrological signs like Aquarius. Plus online dating!

    3. Add more on to the lot challenges. Maybe spooky for haunted house, fixer upper where lots of mechanical issues, kleptomaniacs or burglars.

    4. Bring back some NPCs like burglars, newspaper delivery, chinese takeout, dancers like from TS1 House Party, etc.

    5. Social classes like Lower, Middle, Upper Classes with neighborhoods in those classes. Include struggles from different classes like poor homeless and upper class arogant trait and getting in trouble for tax evasion.

    6. A couple new age groups like preschooler and preteen.

    Tysm for this oppurtunity, TheSims team!

    1. Scrapbooking Memories
    It would be cute if there was a scrapbooking feature similar to the sims 3, to where the sims get a memory and an auto picture was taken. [for the picture you can totally replace it with a better looking one too] and the sims could even have the scrapbook be a physical thing that they could read with their kids or toddlers or even their spouses. and the grandparents could also read it to the kids too. and the scrapbooks are based on their years, like grandparents could have a separate scrapbook and the parents could have theirs.

    2. Aliens, Mermaids and Platsims
    It would be so cool if these occults had their own skill trees like vampires and spellcasters did with their own little decorations, like mermaids could have their with shells and starfish, aliens could have like a cool animation with electronic lines, and plantsims could have vines and flowers decorated all over. And speaking of plantsims, maybe make them able to be a proper occult and maybe do it where they can make baby plantsims and also make them like how sims 3 was, where they grow up to be toddlers, children, teens and young adults and adults and they stay immortal.

    3. Create a World
    It may not be possible, but you've seen the concept arts that people have made, it can be possible. It can also be a world edit tool, like how the sims 2 did it. I really don't know how to describe how It'd be cool, but it would be nice to have.

    4. Not Open World, but maybe Open Neighborhood?
    Okay this would be super helpful, and i'm not exactly sure how it would be possible, but just imagine... your sim wants to visit a neighbors house, so the sim walks there and the house loads immediately. Same for apartments, why have loading screens if even the sims 2 they could just visit apartment neighbors without a loading screen? Same could be said for community lots, but it's not open world it's open neighborhood, so if you switched neighborhoods, then there's a loading screen.

    I hope you guys could possibly bring these to life, as it would mean so much to the players ^_^

    The biggest change I'd like to see in the Sims 4 is for the sims to have actual personalities.
    The way I see a personality system working is as follows.

    I see a series of sliding scales, each with five levels in them - two extremes, two midpoints and neutral. The position on the scale then determines how sim will act in a given scenario. If the slide is on an extreme, the sim will react strongly to all corelated situations. If the slide is on a midpoint, the sim will react to given situations, but not as strongly as an extreme. And if the slide is at neutral, the sim will have no reaction to corresponding situations.

    The sliding scales would be as follows

    Good<-->Evil
    Nice<-->Mean
    Brave<-->Coward
    Active<-->Lazy
    Neat<-->Slob
    Cheerful<-->Gloomy
    Patient<-->Hot-Headed
    Social<-->Loner
    Playful<-->Serious
    Humble<-->Arrogant
    Generous<-->Greedy
    Graceful<-->Clumsy

    For more depth, how about being able to easily invite the bride and groom guest to weddings.

    For more depth, how about being able to enroll multiple Sims into University Dorms.

    For more depth, how about having a downtown neighborhood specifically for community lots like Magnolia Promenade. They could have homeless shelters, DMV and gas station, barbershop, schools, post office, banks, court house, convention center, sports arena and hotels. The homeless shelter could work as a rabbit hole.

    I love the sims 4, but obviously the game feels extremely limited. Every sim feels exactly the same, there aren't really any gameplay challenges, and many times I encounter bugs that absolutely halt my gameplay. I honestly believe that packs are pumped out more than bug fixes which causes more bugs to appear as content is constantly added creating more bugs into the system. Snowy escape has been out for almost a year and many people are still experiencing the bug that prevents them from being able to do the mountain excursion. Bust the Dust is still a mess, and build/buy mode lags a lot for me when the rest of the game runs fine. And the new "Cooking together" feature is not taken care of at all. Obviously this isn't a place to post bugs- but the point is there are many bugs plaguing this game causing me to have to stop playing when I made storyline plans for my sims and something game breaking occurs. Bugs need to be put on priority. Because these glitches can break some of the biggest features of a pack and we don't get a patch until a month or so when we should be getting one ASAP.

    So with gameplay, the sims 4 has its limits. The engine was built to make a different game before it was diverted to be the sims 4 causing the development team to have to use what they had and make a mainline sims game from the tools already created. This made things really challenging and rough. Don't get me wrong, CAS and Build/Buy have been the best in the series apart from the lack of create a style and personality differentiation in the sims, but there are many things that just make the gameplay feel a bit bland. It gets old after you raise like 20+ children and each one basically ends the same. Toddler and child traits are basically useless. I believe their traits should be diverted into the respective categories as they age, and once child sims age to teens, the player should be able to divert the 4 categories of traits the child learned into the respective skills that fall into each category. That way teens just don't age up with literally no skills and experience because that doesn't make sense at all and makes things very difficult. Speaking of teens, the children in this game especially teens have no fancy gameplay, they feel cookie cutter and exactly the same. No special gameplay, look the exact same as adult sims, and act the same other than the fact that they have to go to school. Ages in this game always seem to focus on adults, whereas teens and elders feel like "This is an adult sim but a little different", when they should be treated as their own age.

    I love emotions in the sims! I think it was the most excellent feature in the sims 4, allowing sims to feel a certain way depending on certain circumstances. But I do feel like, even with everything the sims team has added, lifestyle, sentiments, favorites, every sim feels and acts the same. I'm not sure how to express and make things different in this case, but it may be in regards to having multiple different reactions to certain circumstances, sims who just absolutely can't get along unless you try really hard, or new animations to describe a sim by just looking at them, like how they're standing or what they do when they're idle. Make everyone unique. Obviously I'm sure this is too big to make happen, a lot of time and money has to go into coding and animating and brainstorming, but I think this could go a long way into making all sims unique.

    Thank you for taking the time to listen to the community! This means a lot and speaks volumes about how you guys want to better the game! Lots of Love!

    I agree with a lot that I’ve read here. I’ve been playing since sims 1 and what I miss the most is just the chaos and randomness of the game. Everything, including death, is very predictable. We know exactly how to go from single to married in 3 sims hours and it works every time even if the sims didn’t like each other at first. We know exactly what will kill our sims and when. And all of it has to be player initiated.

    For me, the game has become too repetitive. I also feel like I can’t tell interesting stories without downloading mods or manipulating the game play in some way. I know the team has tried to retool some traits recently and in some ways it made a difference and in others it made it worse. Goofball used to be one of my favorite traits but now all they do is prank the toilet all the time. I’ve stopped using the trait because it’s turned into a pain to deal with instead of adding depth to that system.

    I’m sure the answer isn’t one simple thing. Added customization would help. For example, if likes and dislikes were taken further and whims were reworked and reimplemented. Also, automated sims behaviors need to be changed up, make them act on their own and have opinions and emotions related to it. Maybe the neighbor has a crush on your sim and calls to ask them out. Maybe the neighbor gets jealous when your sims partner comes around. Maybe you scare the neighbor and they react as such when they see you. Maybe some sims in your town are really nosy and spread gossip.

    The game just needs more diversity, more unique places, things to do and less player involvement. I don’t want to play every family in the world to have a game that’s full of life. I want my sim/s to join a world that progresses and changes around them without their interference.

    There are a lot of really great ideas that would be nice to see in the game.

    I usually play single Sims, but have been playing a little legacy since the beginning of the year. The most glaring thing I've seen is how connections between family members vs any other Sim is hardly any different. When my gen 2 had a baby I had both grandmas come to see her. Neither of them took any notice when I used to 'show baby to..' interaction and had to que up several interactions to even pretend they were interested. As a grandmother of 6, that was really disappointing. I watch my sims walk right past family members they have high relationships with like they didn't see them and flake off somewhere. To me, having more realistic familial interactions would bring a lot of depth.

    I'll be honest. I play the game with autonomy turned on.

    I just had a pretty crazy play through in the romance area of the game.

    I had townies and my sim's girlfriend actively initiating romantic interactions that lead to chaotic cheating. The NAP was not turned on, but my sim's girlfriend actively flirted with random townies.

    My Cecilia Kang has all her original traits except I changed her noncommittal trait to outgoing. I theorize that a combination of the outgoing trait and flirty sentiments led her to pursue social interactions that ended up being romantic because of her moodlet.

    So, it isn't a problem so much as it feels unfocused and very random. Sentiments, Likes, Dislikes, Traits, and Moodlets by themselves don't do much, but I have an incredible amount of randomness happen when you get the right combination. So, the recent updates with new packs have added depth to my gameplay. It just needs a bit of refinement, maybe. I'm actually happy with a bit of randomness.

    What does bother me is that Cecilia had sentiments for her boyfriend, Jack Galleon (a sim I made). And, she pursued the random romance while Jack was busy doing chores around the farm. She got caught cheating, but there is not a romance bar for anyone she tries to flirt with. It felt like she was just trying to satisfy her social needs, but she got romantic because of her mood. I wish her sentiments had an influence on who she got romantic with because Cecilia and Jack had intense chemistry and they would have been a very strong couple if it wasn't for the combination of sentiments, traits, and moodlet from her sentiment leading to the randomness.

    My twins will perform enchanting introductions. Zephyr initiated the romance with his girlfriend. It was entirely Zephyr's choice. However, a random sim won't initiate romantic interactions. I know for a fact that there is a subtle jealousy or envy element to the romances. The guys Cecilia was "involved" with had a way of showing up to every lot Jack visited with Cecilia. I've had romantic interactions backfire because of this behavior. I will say that I wish sims had boundaries. They get especially bad about interjecting themselves into a conversation during the Date social event. That is a problem for me. Why can't two dating sims be left in peace.

    I don't have a lot of time to share all the screenshots, so I'll share what I can if I can later, but I'd like it if there was an option to simply not pursue romantic relationships. The game feels like there's a heavy push for sims to be in romantic relationships. I want a single lifestyle to mean something. It should be stronger. A sim should be free to be single. I don't want a loner trait or unflirty trait to make that happen.

    [*] More dynamics to relationships, especially within families, to make building them more interesting and challenging. Making parenting more challenging as well. Human children require a ton of attention and help with things, sim babies/toddlers/children do not. I would love to see more ways to interact with your babies/toddlers/children and more group activates where multiple sims of different ages can interact them, as well as a sim being able to interact with multiple toddlers/children at once (ex: reading a book to multiple sims, playing with multiple sims)
    [*] Making career advancement more difficult as you progress to higher levels, perhaps requiring specific projects to complete instead of only optional tasks to boost performance
    [*] Making school more difficult. Completing homework every day is all my sim has to do to get and maintain an A grade. I would like to see specific tasks with due dates and consequences for not completing them
    [*] Personality traits should have more of an effect on sim's behavior and whims, and also how they interact with other sims
    [*] In general, more negative consequences to your actions. I really enjoy some of the weird quirks that were part of the previous Sims games, entertaining negative consequences would be more fun than more realistic ones
    [*] Story progression in the world around you, which right now is only achievable through mods
    [*] Once you get to a mid level in a career, it's too easy to make a lot of money. Financial consequences would be an interesting challenge
    [*] Honestly, bug fixes would help a lot, so the player can focus on new challenges added instead of being frustrated by bugs
    [*] Also, settings to turn certain challenges on and off (like how lot challenges are optional), as some players might enjoy things like difficult school and career advancement while others may not

    I'm sorry if I'm doing this wrong as this is my first time posting here but here's something I've wanted that I think would be very fun and make relationships more fun and meaningful. I'm a little confused on some of the rules but I hope this applies. I don't know how game development works or what's possible with the sims so I'm just throwing ideas out here. I also apologize for my grammar.

    I've wanted a crush feature for a long time now and some kind of attraction system to go with it(sims having a favourite hair color, clothing styles maybe, liking sims with certain hobbies, etc). With a crush feature, I would love for one-sided love to be possible. I don't really like that romance only exists once it's mutual. It would be cute if my sim could have a crush. The crush sentiment could possibly work in the form of a getting a sentiment with the sim they have a crush on and the cause could be the sim they're crushing on have multiple things they're attracted to(hence the attraction system) and get a flirty moodlet when their crush is nearby and also maybe get embarrassed easily around them. I would like if you could be rejected based on what the sim you're crushing on's type is(again referring to the attraction system). I'd also love if the interaction to "confess crush" or whatever it is actually called did something more than possibly raise the romance bar. Your sim would get a moodlet depending on what the response is and it wouldn't only work like normal romance rejections or "ask to be partner" but would be a proper crush confession rejection or be successful. I would like everyone to have crushes but I especially think it could make playing with teens more fun. I would also like if kids could have little crushes but without the romance or dating options because I know it could controversial for some if not handled right and some people could abuse that feature. Not everyone would be okay with it so I'd understand if it got left out but I remember having my first crushes as a kid was a big deal for me and was very sweet. My heart would melt if my kid sims could have a first crush.
