Hi @liss01182 and welcome to the forums!
I don't use Mods myself, so can't be much help, but I did find this article on the Sims Community:
    https://simscommunity.info/2018/08/08/the-sims-4-how-to-ensure-a-healthy-game/2/

    That says:
"DO NOT merge Mod files, this will make the mods corrupt and not work most of the time. Only merge Custom Content. This means, do not merge any .ts4script files or .pacakge files that came with the .ts4script files. As this will cause the mod to break 9/10 times."

That article was from 2018 though, so I don't know if it's changed since then. You may have luck in the General Mod Discussion section:
    https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/categories/mods

@GirlFromIpanema Thank you so much! I just recently started using Mods myself. Usually I only use Custom Content but my game started to run slow so I figured I would try merging my CC. Thank you for the help! :)

That's okay! Wish I could be more help but as I say, I don't use mods. I hope you find the answers you are looking for and enjoy the forums!

I have a question. I'm not even sure if this is the right place to ask but maybe someone can help me. I am currently organizing my CC folder in Sims 4. I'm almost ready to start merging files but my question is, are you able to merge mods as well or just CC? And if you can't merge mods can you merge the files for the content that comes with it? For example the Sims 4 Torments Mod by Sacrificial Mods comes with props and some other cc stuff. Also Grannies Cook Book mod comes with a bunch of recipe files. Can you merge those?

What do you mean by "merge" mods?
Some mods will conflict with other mods. It doesn't matter where it is in the "mods" folder or sub-folders.

Saying that, there are also certain mods that must be in the root folder, not a sub-folder, like T.O.O.L. for instance.

And many thanks to TwistedMexi, aka T-Mex for updating for the Cottage Living pack!

Not sure where else to introduce myself without starting a new thread so hey hello, I am Hannah. I have been playing The Sims since the second game and still miss Stephen Loyal and his cat Diva. Interested in supporting and getting to know other simmers so here I am!

    Hey, @liss01182

What do you mean by merge files? Do you mean place files in the same folder? Or split packages into a single file?

Either way, Remus Sims may answer your question: https://remussims.tumblr.com/post/170045480125/tutorial-how-to-merge-cc-you-will-need

Hi @Fake_Person you may be able to find what you're looking for in the General Mods Discussion Section:
    https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/categories/mods
    Or the Gameplay Mods Section:
    https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/categories/gameplay-mods

If you can't find it there, try posting in the Mod Request Thread here:
    https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/867567/mod-request-thread/p1

    Hope you find it!

    You're welcome.
As a "New" member you won't be able to post your own threads yet, so posting a comment in the Mod Request thread is probably your best option.

    @GirlFromIpanema I had a feeling wondered why I couldn't :disappointed:

Hi, thought I'd introduce myself. I had to talk to EA support to get on here, as my old account from the Sims3 days didn't work anymore, I used to be just Rabellaka. I haven't played at all for the last 6 years, until I got a new laptop in June. But up until then, I had almost every Sim game, from Sim City and Sim Ant until The Sims 3. But my real favourite is The Sims 2. I had a complex Royal Kingdom and had my neighbourhood modded to look like a medieval town, with cobblestone roads and everything I could find. I have a couple of each type of pack, including Cottage Living, which is part of why I came back to the game. I love the farming aspect, since I grew up with my grandparents (and my mother) being hobby farmers, and once upon a time I wanted to raise Angora goats for wool and milk and make my own cheese and spin my own yarn. I've mostly moved on to reality.

I'm a little confused about how sharing stories goes here. Are we allowed to share videos we have uploaded to YouTube of our gameplay? I'm livestreaming some short challenges to get back into gaming. I've seen some posts with links, so I don't know what is allowed and what isn't.

    Hi @Rabellaka_Simming welcome back!
You can introduce yourself here in the introduction thread if you like:
    https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/817478/hello-come-and-introduce-yourself/p1

And Simmers are able to promote their YouTube/Twitch channels here:
    https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/947897/mega-thread-promote-your-sims-youtube-or-sims-twitch-channel-and-discover-others/p1

Unfortunately I don't think you can post links until your account has full member status, which is explained here:

@GirlFromIpanema Thanks for the links. I didn't know how you got points, and I hadn't found any of those threads yet.

Learn the hotkeys! I have been playing since the Sims 1, I wish I would've known things like if you tap "B" it takes you to the wall too. If you hold a shift while working with roofing you can move just once side... Things like this. Search tips and tricks. Learn them, live them, love them!

Hi! Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm a long time lurker and I'm trying to post more and share more of my gameplay  I actually go by Goblin now but I haven't posted long enough to be able to change my username/profile pic in here :(

Anyway, I wish I had known before how much time hotkeys can save you (and how many there are)!

I know it has already been said but: there is truly no wrong way to play sims. I have played hours with sims who were immortal and had their motives freezed because I imagined they were gods or stuff like that, I've had families with lots of kids that I deliberately kept on a lower financial state because I liked the challenge. It really does not matter!

If you feel like the game is getting boring, try various challenges created by the community! If you love the familial type of gameplay try the Legacy Challenge (currently doing this challenge myself!) or if you can't bear to part from your sim, try the Super Sim Challenge (such is the case for me). There are lots of challenges but since I'm only familiar with these two, I'll only mention them. And finally, don't be afraid of using mods/CCs to spice up your game (disclaimer: depends on your PC/laptop specs too).

Not technically a "getting started" tip...

Just wanted to point out that if you are trying for "Green" with the Eco Living Pack (On any map), don't leave drywall anywhere. Especially the exterior of underground basement levels which is often done I see in builds from the gallery. Drywall gives Environment -2 and Eco Industrial +2. Try one of the Green sidings that gives +1 or +2 Eco Green. This will also counter any Industrial stuff. It really adds up.

    Drywall BAD!!! :p

Hi. I got somethin id need a tip on... about toddlers! Not sure how to put this I mean i did once have to erase a sim and put another one in her place because she was always crying, always sad from having her sister refuse a hug. The first time it happened I kept playing but it never went away so i ended up resetting that sim. I didnt play toddlers after that unitl now when i brought my family to the mountain and it happened again. There has gotta be a way to undo the sad feeling that grows into a lifelong grudge in like 2-3 days !

Hi @rongtudjuuu! Are you after a way to remove sentiments from Sims?

If so, here is a link to a list of sentiment cheats:
    https://simscommunity.info/2020/12/10/the-sims-4-sentiment-cheats-base-game/

You can also remove a Sentiment through the cheat by typing -100 instead of 100!

    Hope this helps!
