Could really use wheat and sugar cane in the game

Those are the two plants that could really make it to where my sim is totally self suffient. She still needs to buy flour and sugar. If we had those, she could make that herself. Hopefully they'll add it soon. Other then that, I am totally enjoying the new expansion! Pigs would be awesome but I'm not pushing it. lol

Sugar cane is brutally hard work to cultivate without a lot of mechanized assistance - the history of sugar is hard to read, because up until rather recently, it was a major driver of the trans-Atlantic slave trade. That said, sugar beets are also a thing, and sound like a more sim-farm friendly crop.

Wheat - grains in general - take up a LOT of land for the yield. There are reasons we tend not to grow it as a garden plant. I mean, you'd need a lot of space. Multiple acres. But I guess it would give the water mills in New Old Henford and in Finchwick something to do?

I'd have preferred pigs to llamas (which ought to have been sheep, given the setting - but I'd also have preferred pigs to sheep).

Sugar cane would look horribly out of place anywhere other than Sulani, but I'd definitely be on board with having sugar beets available.

One thing I wish would become a universal rule of game design is "if your game has a crafting system, anything your player characters can buy should be able to be crafted, and the cost of materials should be lower than the cost of the crafted item in shops."

Anything to get sugar. You can make flour with crickets, at least, though wheat would be really nice.

We have the alternatives for suger and flour, so why can't we use honey instead of sugar and insects flour instead of plant flour? It would be much more fun to be really independent.
