Umbrellas ruin immersion
Initially I liked the idea of umbrellas. Then I discovered that they were utterly bugged. Sims couldnt interact because they opened and closed them constantly. I called the dance "the umbrella". I even made a video of it. That got fixed.
These days I give my sims the trait that the rain doesnt bother them. Especially when off the grid in sulani.
They still open umbrellas.
I placed the build mode item so sims can get rid of the umbrellas which we cant see on the sim.
They still open umbrellas.
I tried to prevent sims from opening them with MCCC.
They still open umbrellas.
I play off the grid families who dont have access to such items.

Its a cancer, not a feature. Make it an inventory item we must purchase to use, autonomously or by command. No umbrella, no problem. Problem solved.
