Should They Make Errands a Thing for Various Packs?

SepiaSepia Posts: 101 Member
I quite like doing errands (except I ran into a few snags on some of them, like finding the grocery deliverer). I think it would be cool to implement them in various worlds so that my Sims can interact with the premades and go off collecting whatever thing, making/growing something for them, or spreading gossip. It gives my rich work-from-home Sims something to do while the kids are at school. It’d also give me a reason to visit different worlds more often that aren’t my favorites.

They could make the worlds’ errands tie in to the theme of the pack. City Living (deliver a stall recipe, sing karaoke, spray paint some street art), Cats and Dogs (befriend an animal, visit the lighthouse, cook gourmet pet food), Island Living (deliver seashells and coconuts, deliver message to a dolphin).

What do you think?

island living has odd jobs which are sorta similar. some of them are specifically island related whereas others are just rabbit holes.

Ugh, no. I would pretty much hate that. Besides the fact that I'm not fond of errand-like activities in any game, they'd likely want to add even more immortal sims to the game if they expand the idea. I could avoid doing the errands, but there would be even more pre-mades that I can't get rid of. I'd hate that even more than the fetch quests.
FYI: Just because you can see my signature, don't assume that I can see yours.
Because I can't; I keep all sigs turned off. ;)

I'd love to see more errands in the game. I usually delete the premade sims straight away but I quite like this method of getting to know them. I have lots of room in my game though so I understand those who don't want premades taking up valuable real estate space.

No. I think instead they should’ve just opened up Odd Jobs for Base Game and added more. I don’t like the “guessing game” aspect.

I think it should be like the club system that uses about every pack we have with skills, jobs etc. I like the idea of errands, I wish they would include other packs we have too. That would make every pack, even more useful. It would be good integration.

I personally don't mind "errands" or tasks ... when I get bored and can't think up a storyline to play, I would like errands and quests to keep me interested in playing.

If they could be used for world building and stories, but I'm not sure that's what errands do, most errands I have seen are mostly fetch quests, they do give you things that you can unlock and use but that's about it from what I have seen anyway from videos. They seem to lack a bit of context, like one errand I saw where they wanted you to deliver a package...but it didn't specify to whom.

I'm not sure how fun they are to play either... I have not bought Cottage Living yet, but I find them very boring to watch, but maybe that's just me.
