Homework/study groups for kids, teens and students. Requirements by each age group. Meet at Libraries. Do homework, school projects, research & debate etc, depending on the group, plus friendly interactions so they make friends.

Robotics club. Can meet at Foxbury Commons or maybe you could set up a robotics lab at a science museum. Make, maintain and upgrade robots, scavenge or tinker for parts and socialise with other roboticists.

Occult clubs that do activities unique to themselves, socialise and have rivalries and alliances with other clubs. Hangouts and activities could be chosen based on whether they are openly occult or hiding their powers, have mischievous intentions or just need other sims for activities like duels or faster group potion making etc.

Sports clubs with rival teams for basketball, soccer, swimming, darts, ping pong etc.

Crafters, Work From Home and Freelance career clubs that can meet and do tasks together. Location and activities would be based on career but a few examples are Freelance Programmers meeting up at an internet café to work on gigs, Gardeners volunteering to maintain a community garden or Stylists, Knitters and Fashion Photographers doing their work at a Fashion House (retail clothes store).

Here is a list of some of the groups I use for my Sims:

    - Bowling Club
    - Sports Clubs (soccer, basketball, swimming, etc.).
    - Bar Clubs (poker, darts, ping-pong).
    - Video Game Club (Arcades)
    - Movie Club
    - Fishing Club
    - Book Club
    - Art/Music Class (paint, instruments, etc.)

For kids I sometimes do homework club but label them history, geography, etc. club.

That is just what I can think of off the top of my head.

I create clubs mostly to gather sims as groups, so have one for maternity care, with a nurse as leader, meeting locale the local 'hospital', appropriately decorated (her house); and the sims that get pregnant join the club during the pregnancy, to sit and chat in a room with the nurse, and learn some parenting. I have a club for funerals, with the funeral director as leader, meeting locale the local 'funeral home', appropriately decorated (her house); and activities to listen to speech, and watch live entertainment (no pun intended). And so forth.

I like to use clubs to make community lots more fun to visit, so if there's a community lot you really enjoy, create a couple clubs that populate that lot designed to engage with one another. If you enjoy a particular bar for example, I would create a drinking club, pub games club, and maybe even a mixologists club, and set it up to have all three clubs interact with each other for some extra dimension or drama.

I also like to make custom NPC's using clubs by making a club populated by one or two sims. For example, before CoL I made a custom Misses Crumplebotton NPC by making a club with Mrs. C, that shows up at lounges, she knits, never flirts, is mean to everybody, and is constantly angry.

Burglary crew: Swipe objects, Fight (everyone else), Be Mean (to everyone else).
Have the members in another household, join said household before a gathering, bring them around to homes, and see what you make off with at the end of the night.

I would create a loser's club for all of my dysfunctional Sims, and then also create a decrepit bar for them to hang out at

I’m doing something similar! But in my case he is constantly Very Tense, so he can’t cook decent food for himself. He’s also in a gardening club because he’s usually too tense to weed or water his plants.

Ooh Be Gah!! Whipna Choba-Dog? Whipna Choba-Dog!!

These are all really good ideas. I haven't done much with the club system yet, but this thread is intriguing me.

I once had a club of home helpers that would visit a sim's house and cook, clean and repair for them. That was before butlers were introduced.

And, a moment later, three ideas!

The Rat Pack: Men only. Activities: Drink Bar Drinks, Sing, Do Comedy. Perhaps Be Romantic, if there's a way to make the club members flirt with others, not simply spend their time hitting on each other.

Choruses: A cappella groups, barbershop quartets, etc. Activity: Sing. Perhaps a Sim would have to reach a certain level before they could join.

I'm With The Band: This one starts with our Sim who is a talented singer (Level 6 now). His objective is forming a band. If he finds someone playing an instrument well at a festival or while busking in a square, he'll invite them to join his band. They might not be able to play gigs, but it will be fun to have them get together and jam. Ideally, he'll find at least two guitar players and a piano/keyboard player. Perhaps he'll learn to play the guitar, too. It's a shame Sims can't play the drums, isn't it? Activities: Sing, Play Guitar, Play Piano, Play Violin (?)

Credit to my daughter, and then, my wife for helping me put these ideas together!

I typically create family clubs for all of my families so they can visit extended family often. I've also had a Janitors club for my vet clinic so the clean up would be faster.
