The Collins family are a lovely Country Living family! @luckyheather Very nice background details. Heather is pretty, and Marty and Daniel are handsome. Poppy is so very cute! Adam is very sweet!
They are very nice for the new pack
Thank you @rosemow I had fun doing Violet as she is creative so a little colourful than her siblings, but poppy is thanks to her floral hairstyle that I could not resist
Here is a cosy country cottage built on Potters Splay in Willow Creek. Contemporary interior design with open plan kitchen, living and dining rooms, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an art studio in the loft. Rear garden includes bbq patio, fishing pond, kids play area and more
Willow Way is a lovely country family cottage! @masajo Very nice exterior design, warm stone textured walls, pretty front fencing and flowers! The backyard outdoors areas are lovely! Very nice umbrella covered dining table and bbq area to enjoy dining outdoors. Sims enjoy relaxing on the loungers. Patchy is cute in the corner nook! The fishing pond is great! Very nice white and natural colour, and warm wood textured walls and furnishings.
I have posted more on your showcase thread.
Many, many thanks dear @rosemow for all your wonderful support and beautiful words which are always such a great pleasure to read and bring much happiness
hi everyone! i've returned to The Sims 4 this year after 13 years away (!) and am loving it. i am writing with a question for you all. i am a writer based in the UK and i've been commissioned to write an article on UK-based Sims players and their use of money in the game. i’m particularly interested in lots of people coming to the sims over the national lockdowns in the U.K., and how players used their simoleons to create particular kinds of worlds and experiences for their sims, particularly in distinction to a lack of economic support offered by the UK government to many of its citizens (e.g freelancer and workers in the gig economy). if anyone (UK-based only, sorry) is interested in chatting to me, please do drop me a message via my inbox! it would be great to hear from 3-4 people on their experiences. thanks!
Fruity Blood orange is a very lovely fruit themed kitchen! @chips46 Very beautiful orange, dusk pink and yellow colors! The patterned flooring is pretty. Very nice furnishings and layout! Very nice windows dining area to enjoy eating meals in the sunlight. Lovely orange colored dining chair and the fruit bowl is nice on the sweet pink flamingo dining table. Very nice patterned blinds. The lights are very nice around the wall picture. Sims will enjoy eating and drinking items from the buffet table and fountain. Very great design of the cooking area! The warm wood textured cabinets and counters are very nice along the edges of the area! The red rose is pretty! Very nice blood orange wallart and the apple clock is a nice touch. Sims will enjoy listening to music from the wall speaker whilst cooking and dining.
Modern Home and Farm is a lovely family home! @luckyheather Very nice exterior design, great roofing and skylights, and very great outside areas! The gardening areas are great for growing plants! Very nice animal shed and chicken coop areas! The pergola outdoors kitchen and dining area is very nice for enjoying cooking and eating outside in the country air,Very lovely furnishing of the interior! The layout, white colour and design of the rooms and areas are very nice! Thanks very much for using my art! The kitchen design is very great! Very nice island workbench, stove top and sink counter. The windows nook with the stools is very nice! Very great basement indoors pool and gym room! The bedrooms are lovely! Very nice layout and colours.
Hey! How’s everyone enjoying the new pack? I’m loving it so far! 💕 The gameplay is very useful in my kind of playstyle. The BB assets are gorgeous! And the CAS styles are definitely right up my alley! I’m pleasantly surprised that I find these aesthetics quite enjoyable since I’m more of a city guy, and well, the countryside is not really my thing.
Anyway, as you may or may not know I have this story—which while on-hiatus is still my favorite save game to play with!—that has my main character as Princess Cordelia’s great great great great granddaughter or something.
So imagine my excitement when I found out that the new pack has something which expanded this lore! The starter home by the waterfalls in The Bramblewood neighborhood is called Cordelia’s Secret Cottage! This wonderful build, made by the Game Changer ThomasTV, is where Princess Cordelia fled to after The Great Sloth Invasion. However, as cute and quaint and homey as it is—and as much as I love it!—I’m afraid it doesn’t align with my story’s and in-game universe's canon.
And so I have 𝓡𝓸𝔂𝓪𝓵𝓲𝔃𝓮𝓭 this cottage and made it into a McMansion humble fermette.
The biggest change I made is building a cour d’honneur, as with all other Thebe chateaux, before one can head inside the house. I also set up a BBQ grill and alfresco dining in this small court. At its far end, there is a small lounging area that I oriented towards Cordelia Falls. (I swear Sims can still ˢᵒʳᵗᵃ see the waterfalls. )
I usually build semi-historically accurately but I eased up on those self-imposed restrictions and decorated eclectically for this one. Moreover, I tried to switch up the color scheme. It took all of me to not choose my usually preferred neutral swatches! Here’s the living room.
And the kitchen
An indoor dining room for those rainy days—there’s apparently a lot in Henford-on-Bagley!
(Sims can't really eat from the sofa but they can sit and nap on it.)
Bedroom 1
Bedroom 2
And a common bathroom.
Thanks Sims Team for fixing the mirrors!
Out back, there is a vegetable patch and some animal sheds.
Now I know it’s not exactly very cottage-like, or English-looking, but I was going for “this is a foreign princess’s idea of what peasant life is like”. I hope that makes sense. It isn’t nearly as vibrant, as cozy, or as creative as the other creations on this page but thanks for letting me share my work anyway!
Your makeover of the cottage is lovely! @orenjiAi The courtyard with outdoors dining and a bbq is very nice! The hedging on the lots edges is lovely, and very nice hedge arch and greenery on the wall. The animal shed and chicken coop area is great! Very lovely furnishing of the interior! The wall patterns and paneling are very nice! Both of the bedrooms and the colours are lovely! Very nice wood texture furnishings in the kitchen and dining rooms.
For my fellow Monty Python fans! (no CC/no mods/no cheats)
Ghost Knight, death by Killer Rabbit
Backstory: "Join Arthur on his quest for the Grail, they said. It'll be fun, they said." Fortune & glory await at the end of a perilour journey, but Brave Sir Knight got more than he bargained for when he met his untimely demise at the hands (paws?) of the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog.
Ghost Centurion, death by laughter
Backstory: Dative? Accusative? LOCATIVE?? Argh! But you know what is harder than using the correct case in Latin? Keeping a straight face in front of your boss.
Thanks for the lovely words @rosemow! Hope you’re also enjoying this pack! Now that the Thebe residence at Henford-on-Bagley is done, I’m off to play some more! Just don’t know how I could incorporate this into the story. Or if I should at all? Hmmm… 🤔
@Lissykin I just saw your build. I absolutely love it. Do you use a mod so that the place can be a dwelling and retail?
Thank you for your nice comment! I don't use a mod, but I do have a workaround! Place your sim in an empty lot as their main residence, then purchase the garden center as a business. When you travel there you can lock the doors to the private part of the home to keep customers and employees out. When you get the notification that bills are due, pay them on the phone or computer and you'll never have to go back to the empty lot. If you have a separate job, then sims will be dropped at the empty lot after shift, but then it's just another trip to the garden center. I've been playing this way for a while and it's working well.
Welcome to Michigan! Are you ready to farm?! A traditional Michigan farm house is practical & homey. The home expands as the family grows. This home is designed to work as-is with animals from 'Country Living', has the 'Simple Living' trait, & is equipped to play 'Off the Grid' if you choose. Includes treehouse, some all-season plants + oversized crop bed, fishing pond, cow/llama/chicken pens & buildings, & is pet ready! Note: NoMods, NoCC, PlayTested
Here you can see the addition of chicken coops, a llama shed, two cow sheds and the garden. There are also wind turbines, solar panels and water gathering equipment is included.
A pond has been dug and stocked with many types of fish. The kiddos will love that tree fort!
The right side of the house has a swing set, clothesline, and one of the 'family entrances' that enters to a mudroom. The yard was revised to add animals and other features from the new 'Country Living' pack. The home itself was posted prior to 'Country Living' as "Michigan Farmhouse". The interior of the home can be viewed in my previous slideshow (with the exception of the changes seen above to the yard): https://imgur.com/gallery/408PFOr
Sustainable Michigan Farm is a lovely family farm! @SheriGR Very nice exterior design and pretty color of the farmhouse and the outdoors areas are great! Very nice animal sheds, chicken coops and gardening areas! The wind turbines, solar panels and water catchers are great eco living items! Very nice fishing pond, and kids will enjoy playing in the play area and in the tree house! Very nice firepit area. Very nice bbq and outdoors dining area. The furnishing of the interior is lovely! Very nice room colors.Very nice fireplace armchair, sofa and rocking chair area to enjoy watching tv near the fire. The bedroom designs are lovely! Very nice basement areas. The garage is great! Sims will enjoy doing flower arranging and candle making on the tables.
It is a very nice farm!
